Chapter 421 Despicable Moral Blackmail

It seemed that someone had purposely erased the visit records.

Donahueiel’s eyes were deep and unpredictable, and a few chills radiated around his

body.

At noon, Janet received a call from Marvin, asking to have dinner together.

“What have you been so busy with lately that I can’t meet you?”

Janet picked up a piece of hot tender beef from the hot pot and put it into her mouth. It

was smooth and tender. She squinted her eyes in satisfaction.

“I went to Bertry City for a symposium.”

Marvin served Janet’s food.

“If you had asked me out a day earlier, you wouldn’t have missed Tina.” Janet wrinkled

her nose and teased.

Marvin raised his eyebrows and spoke disgruntledly, “Good girl, you’re close to her.” Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Crystal beads of sweat spilled out of Janet’s nose, and she smiled wryly.

“I’m helping you leave a good impression for her, so you guys can get closer.”

“Really?” Marvin asked suspiciously.

“It’s all in my control. I can ask her out whenever I want.”

“Okay,” Janet responded perfunctorily.

If she told him the original words Tina had disliked Marvin yesterday, his expression

would have been different.

Janet laughed and decided it was better to defend Marvin’s fragile soul.

“Say, what do you want from me?” Janet forked a fish ball and put it back into the bowl.

“I just got back to the villa today and I found this in the mailbox.”

Marvin pulled out a jade bracelet.

“I heard from Lawrence that you’ve been very busy lately, so I sent it to you especially. It

looks like it’s worth a lot of money. Who gave it to you?”

“Someone took a silk scarf and wrapped it up and sent it to us. There wasn’t even a note

about it. I almost threw it away.”

Janet picked up a tissue and wiped off her hands before she picked up the jade bracelet.

The bracelet was crystal clear, with gold filigree embedded on it, elegant and noble.

Janet took her finger and stroked the familiar dragon and phoenix mark on the inside of

the bracelet. Janet was excited.

“This is Lynne’s bracelet. Are they coming to see me?”

Marvin’s eyes also lit up, as Lynne was the kind–hearted person who adopted Janet after

she lost her memory. Unexpectedly, this bracelet was sent by her.

“I guess so. She sent a token first so that you could be prepared.”

Marvin tenderly watched the glow on Janet’s face.

“How’s that? Are you happy?”

Janet held the bracelet in her hands, her eyes moist and endearing.

“Of course I’m happy.”

“I didn’t realize that more than three years have passed. This time when they come, I

must treat them well.”

Marvin couldn’t help but rub the top of Janet’s head.

Even if her brothers loved and spoiled her and tried hard to make up for it, those years of

hardship were ultimately the ones Jill’s adoptive parents accompanied her through.

This kindness should not only be remembered by Jill, but her brothers should also be

doubly grateful.

“When they come, I will accompany you to entertain and stay here with you for a few

more days.”

After the steaming heat, Janet’s face was flushed and glowing.

“Good!”

It was a sunny afternoon. Gilbert was about to take the speedboat out for a ride when he

got a call from Donahueiel.

He was lying on his back in a beach chair, one leg relaxed and curled up. “The previous

tactics don’t work anymore? Do you need skill upgrade service?”

Hearing Gilbert’s joking voice, Donahueiel frowned even more.

“I stopped using your crummy methods a long time ago.”

“No way, Donahue?”

Gilbert pulled down his sunglasses. “What did you say? Do you dare say it didn’t work?”

Donahueiel didn’t bother arguing with him as he pinched his brow. “There’s a new

situation.”

“What?”

“The girl I saved ten years ago is Janet.”

Gilbert leapt up from his beach chair in excitement straight away at hearing this. He fell

onto the beach and ate a mouthful of dirt.

“…What?!”

“That’s fate!”

Gilbert was excited. “That means Janet fell in love with you and willingly married you

back then because you saved her?”

He walked around the beach excitedly. “Now you can use this opportunity to get closer

to her.

Donahueiel frowned and said, “Not a good idea.” Gilbert kicked the balloon next to him.

“What’s wrong with that?”

“She was saved by you. You deserve to accept this kindness. It’s just a little trick to get a

chance, why not?”

“Do you know how to marry first and then love later?”

“Full of nonsense.” Donahueiel’s face fell.

“Is love used to scheme? Can you equate love with gratitude? That’s ridiculous!”

Gilbert was confused and said, “Isn’t that what you mean when you told me about saving

her life?”

Donahueiel’s eyes were sharp. He did mean it at first. He was even a little glad that he

had saved Janet back then.

Because he saved Janet, Janet would treat him differently.

But when this idea was spoken by Gilbert, Donahueiel suddenly snapped out of it.

“The two things have nothing to do with each other. It’s not a reasonable means to hold

a favor in exchange for love. It’s called despicable moral kidnapping.”

“Are you talking about me?” Gilbert pointed incredulously at the tip of his nose.

“Of course.” Donahueiel folded his legs casually.

Gilbert was furious and laughed, “My good intentions have become nothing. Fine, do you have another

way?”

Donahueiel was very straightforward, and Gilbert didn’t believe he had any clever ideas.

But the next second Donahueiel spoke, “Yes.”

Donahueiel’s mouse clicked, and he checked the new email.

On it was a project proposal from Nigel, with a confusingly messy layout.

Donahueiel looked at the results of Nigel’s childish behavior with a meaningful look and laughed

contemptuously.

“Why call me when you have a solution? Did you call me to sarcastically insult me for being mean

and shameless?”

Gilbert was emotional and had a desire to lose his temper.

Donahueiel’s tone was calm. His words made Gilbert even more emotional.

“I’m just looking for someone to help me clear my mind. Your job is done. Bye.”

Donahueiel quickly hung up the phone. Gilbert stood with his phone in his hand and took.

a deep breath.

“Don’t be angry. Life is like a drama…”

“Bang!”

A ball hit the back of Gilbert’s head, and he was completely furious.

“Who told you to play ball on the beach. This is no place to play ball! Vile! Shameless!

Immoral!”

The manic Gilbert managed to scare the kids into tears and was grabbed

by their mothers to buy three cones before he was done.

Janet and Marvin finished their lunch and returned to the office.

When she got out of the elevator, she saw employees gathered in groups in the cubicle, as if they

were passionately discussing something.

Janet approached, pulled down the sunglasses on the bridge of her nose, raised her

hand to sweep the dials, and looked around calmly.

“The lunch break is over, but you guys are still gossiping. Is it that I have not arranged

enough work for you to do?”

The crowd felt a chill on their necks and kept their mouths shut.

Janet’s cold eyes swept over every corner of the office room and she turned around to

return to her office.

“Each person of not less than 2,000 words and submit it to my office by

five o’clock this afternoon.”

A few bold employees quietly looked up, looking at Janet’s back, and exchanged a look of deep meanin

g with the people around them.
