I Want You Back

Chapter 14

Sofia Andrew

Amelia and I went to the clubhouse to eat lunch and to see if it could ease the sour mood Angel put me in.

We sat at our usual table and ordered the usual. As we waited, we talked about the upcoming show of the company, the new catalog, and everything related to our company and businesses. "Won't you tell me why you are ignoring the owner of Autos-Let?" Amelia asked with a raised brow.

"I am not ignoring them, but did you forget that I'm the owner of another car company and they are a competitor?"

"You're right, but if they don't know that you are the owner, how will that affect you?"

"It's not possible at this time. We're just starting, and I don't want to risk it."

"Sofia, with that nerdy brain you have, that's unlikely to happen."

I rolled my eyes at her. "Don't test your luck."

"When it comes to the brain, it seems that we just met three people who lack it," she said, pointing somewhere.

I turned to where she was pointing, and I saw three witches with the same attitude. My mother and sister-in-law and... Elisa.

"Their brain is developed, but for bad purposes. It's best if we ignore their existence."

"They should be thankful. If it weren't for you, they wouldn't be able to enter the clubhouse."

""Let them be, Amelia."

"No, you know what I don't understand? If Angel is so determined to leave you, why has he yet to publicize it?"

"Who knows what that man is thinking? Maybe he's not willing to lose everything he sacrificed for the last five years just for..."

"Look at that one walking like she owns the place," Amelia stated with a disgusted look on her face.

"Don't give her the pleasure of annoying you. Even if she acts like it, remember that I'm still not divorced."

"But you signed."

"I just signed them, but Angel needs to rewrite it because he wants to change some things. So, it's technically not yet signed, and it's still up to me if I will sign it," I said with a hidden smirk. "Will you really not sign it?"

"Just to make life miserable for those three, no, I wouldn't do it."

Amelia laughed at that. "Even if that means going to war with Angel?"

"We're always at war. Okay, that's exaggerating it. We just ignored each other, and whenever we talked, I ended up wanting to kill him." "What is the difference, Sofia?" she asked with a roll of her eyes before they sharpened. "Oops, witches alert. They are coming over."

"Wow, look who's here," I heard Elisa saying.

"My former sister-in-law, who would have thought that you wouldn't be ashamed to still show your face in a prestigious place like this after my brother left you?"

"Girls, behave. Remember where we are even if someone does not know her place," my mother-in-law told her minions, clearly pertaining to me.

"Let's see, Sofia, can't you accept the fact that Angel left you for me? And you needed to invent a meeting just to be with him?"

Amelia and I looked at each other because we both didn't understand what Elisa was talking about.

"True. You prevented them from seeing each other last night, Sofia, but you won't win because they'll be together again," Angelica sneered.

"Last night? Ah, I remember the picture, but Angel was the one who told me he left. If he's not with Elisa, then who?" I asked calmly.

"There are people without dignity," my former mother-in-law, Martha, said, Amelia was about to intervene, but I motioned for her to stop. You are no longer my son's wife; therefore, you shouldn't be here."

"Sofia, Angel loves me, and he always will, so you should accept that. So for your next meetings, just look for another."

"Girls, let's not continue wasting our time. Let's remember that there are people who are willing to do anything to get what they want," Martha continued to say.

Amelia attempted to answer, but I beat her to it. I want my former mother-in-law to listen to me, and she will.

"I agree with what you said, Martha, like how your son married me to get to a higher place in society." I saw her face reddish in anger. "And of course, I know where I am and what kind of place this is. Might I just remind you that unlike all of you, I grew up here? I celebrated all of my occasions, meetings, and classes here. Even when I'm just bored or when I want a glass of water?"

"Oh, I remember you celebrating your baby shower here as well, and you weren't even here yet," Amelia added with a snort. "And even our graduation."

"Exactly. Therefore, my dear mother-in-law, you should follow your advice and have a little bit of dignity and shame to never set foot in a place where you can access thanks to me, but as you said, some people just don't know where their place is." I emphasized each word, and the three furiously looked at me.

"Who do you think you are to talk to her like that?!" Elisa screeched.

"Oh, dear, if I were you, I'd lower my voice. This is an exclusive clubhouse and not a market you're used to, Elisa. If you want to be Mrs. Leffman, you should learn your manners. Angel hates scandals, you see." I taunted her with a click of my tongue, and her face got redder. "The women of the Leffman clan should teach the new member how she should act in a place like this because I might just slip and remove your names here."

"You" Martha started but cut herself off.

"For your information, Elisa, I don't need a reason or invent a reason to see Angel. If he's not with you, that isn't my problem. I was with Amelia last night, and I have no idea where Angel spent the night."

I lied, but I just wanted to see her explode with jealousy and doubts.

"True. So, you should be the one asking yourself what's so important that he stood you up." Amelia backed me up with a snort.

"You're lying! Someone saw you leaving a restaurant with him."© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

"And your informant didn't do their job right because they'd know that I wasn't with him. We had different meetings, and if he stayed, that wasn't my fault. Where did he spend the night? Why don't you find out?" "You just want a misunderstanding between my brother and Elisa, but you won't win."

"Angelica, why don't you use your brain for something more relevant? Like studying, perhaps?"

"My son has a great reputation in society now; if I tell him to remove you here, it won't even take a minute."

"Oh, Martha, I wouldn't try my luck if I were you. You might lose."

"Good afternoon," a security guard greeted us. "Is there a problem here, Miss Andrew?"

"Oh no, we were only discussing trivial matters like... the passes to this club." Martha was the one who answered, and the security only looked at her before turning back to me. "Are these people bothering you, Miss Sofia? Miss Amelia?"

Martha looked at him in a deadly way for ignoring her.

"No. Like the lady said, we are just talking about lady things. You know how women can be when comes to material things," I said in dismissal.

The security smiled and nodded. "Well, then, excuse me, and enjoy your day."

"I think it's clear now who will leave first, don't you think?" Amelia taunted the three.

"You should be on your way because you are on the wrong table. Goodbye," I told them, and our food came.

When they left, I saw Angelica looking at our bags.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?"

"They are from the new collection, and they are not even on the market yet. How did you get them?" She asked in envy and excitement.

Amelia and I laughed. "Let's just say that the owner is like a sister to me, so she gave us a pair."

"Angelica!" Martha called her daughter, and she followed the two older witches.

They thought I would still be the same Sofia who tolerated them, but they were wrong, and now they know their place.
