CHAPTER 51
When she left, He went crazy
Chapter 51 Bentley’s Anger
“Are you so afraid that I will regret it?”
His voice was somewhat deep as he continued. “But I’m more afraid that you’ll treat me like a stranger.”
The surroundings were cold, but his embrace was as warm as before.
His words had me stunned.
When I came to my senses, he had already opened the car door for me. After I got in, he turned around and walked away without looking back.
Through the rain curtain, I caught a glimpse of his tall figure, his back soaked halfway through.
Ending a marriage seemed so effortless.
It only took us half an hour to go to the courthouse to submit the documents and sign.

After the courthouse processed our application, the court would schedule a hearing to confirm our emotional breakdown and then announce the divorce.
There would be nothing left between Christopher and me.
Our past marriage was like a dream that I had.
Of course, all of this was predicated on Christopher keeping his promise.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
When I returned to Elissa’s house, before I could even open the door, Elissa had already opened it from the inside.
“You are back.”
“Yes.”
I chuckled, pretending not to care.
She watched quietly as I entered the room to change my shoes, then tentatively spoke, “Christopher messaged me. Did you two really go through with the divorce?”
I took off my coat and casually tied my long hair behind my head. “What did he message you for?”
Elissa hesitated before speaking. “He asked me to take care of you for this month.”
“Was he afraid that I would seek death?”
I said mockingly, “You can tell him not to think too much. I’m better off without him.”
“No.”
Chapter 51 Bentley’s Anger
Elissa denied, furrowing her brows in thought. I always feel like his words have a deeper meaning. Is he not really planning to divorce you? He might just be soothing you, and if he withdraws the lawsuit within the specified period, you won’t be able to ger divorced.”
“No way!”
I sensed trouble brewing; could it be that Christopher really wanted to regret it? It could be his way of doing things.
But then I realized that Evelyn’s baby wasn’t due for another few months, and Christopher wouldn’t have changed his mind in that month, even for her sake.
He had already made his choice, while I was the only one who was still thinking about it.
I walked wearily into the bathroom. “I’ll take a shower first.”
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine; it’s just a divorce. I’ve wanted a divorce for a long time,” Lsaid calmly.
“That’s good then.”
Elissa said as she closed the door for me. “Then take a shower and get some sleep. You didn’t seem to get much sleep last night.”
“Okay.”
I nodded with a smile. In the moment the door closed, I sat down on the toilet, feeling powerless, bending over as tears streamed down my face.
I wouldn’t have wanted to cry.
I had been looking forward to this divorce for so long; I should be happy.
Even though Christopher and I were not legally divorced, I felt a sense of loss and pain.
Perhaps emotions didn’t necessarily require rationality.
I could no longer squander my life as I did before.
I
What made me feel upset and guilty was that I let my child down; I made him lose his father before he was even born.
He would feel very sad when he saw other kids with dads in the f
future.
To quickly free myself from pain, I immersed myself wholeheartedly in work while taking care of my body.
The design draft from MS Group couldn’t be delayed any longer.
Once I got to work, I forgot everything because the pain of work was draining my energy.
I overturned my design and redrew it many times, but I still felt unsatisfied.

1 just made a few strokes, and then the phone rang
The call came from the Valerie Manor
I was afraid that Bentley wild get into trouble, to I immediately called him “Hello?”
Barry said eagerly, Mrs. Valence, please come back soon. Mr. Bentley is on fire and wants to hit Mr. Valence I’m afraid you are the only one who can persuade him ”
“What?”
Almost as soon as I heard the first half of the sentence, I immediately stood up, grabbed a jacket, hung it on my arm. and headed outside.
I was not worried about Christopher.
Although Bentley had more than one grandson, he loved Christopher the most. Even when he punished Christopher, he would never hurt him.
However, Bentley’s health was fragile; he couldn’t risk getting angry as it might result in accidents. Barry wouldn t appear so anxious unless absolutely necessary.
Barry said, “You’ll know once you come back.”
Although I had some guesses, when I arrived at the Valence Manor, I was still stunned.
In the study, the once proud Christopher was now kneeling on the ground, unable to straighten his back due to the beating. His forehead was throbbing with pain, veins bulging, and he could only manage to stay upright by holding onto the edge of the coffee table, preventing himself from collapsing to the floor.
Even more surprising to me was that Evelyn was there, too.
I was about to speak, but Bentley, who had always been kind to me, looked coldly at Barry. “Did you call Hope?”
“Yes.”
Barry could only admit.
“How dare you take it upon yourself?”
Bentley shouted angrily. “Everybody out!”
“Bentley.
I wanted to advise Bentley to calm down; after all, getting angry was harmful to his body.
Bentley waved his hand and said, “Don’t worry, I’m not mad at them. You wait for me outside.”
Chapter 51 Bentley’s Anger
After hearing what he said, I could only leave with Barry first.
Behind me, I heard Bentley sneer coldly. “You’re as lack of fact as your mom; why don’t you just get out of here?
Evelyn spoke softly, “Bentley, what’s the point of hitting Chris like this? Hope chose to divorce willingly. Besides, Chris gave her a house that could meet her needs. Churls is your family; Hope is just an outsider.”
“Shut up!”
Bentley stopped angrily, glaring at Christopher. “This is the woman you like? Not only does she have no morals, she’s also selfish, and she doesn’t listen to me.”
Christopher gritted his teeth, enduring the pain in his body, and said, “Bentley asked you to go out, didn’t you hear it?”
“I heard it.”
Although Evelyn was irritated, she didn’t dare to be as arrogant as she was in private when in front of Bentley.
Soon, she also walked out, gracefully passing by Barry and me, and went downstairs without showing any signs of
anger.
Barry frowned, looked at me, and then said kindly, “Don’t get Mr. Bentley wrong. He wasn’t angry at you.”
“I know.”
I lowered my head and asked, “Does Grandpa Bentley know we got divorced?”
“Hmm.”
Barry nodded. “A few days ago, you and Mr. Valence went to the courthouse, and Mr. Bentley received the news.”
Barry sighed as he saw my astonished expression. “Mr. Bentley had already guessed that you might proceed with the divorce paperwork first and had contacted the courthouse staff in advance.”
After listening to his words, I suddenly understood.
A few days ago, I was so angry that I lost my head. I should have realized that with the power of the Valence family, as long as Bentley wanted to know, none of our actions could escape his notice.
Barry saw my guilt and said, “But Mr. Bentley wasn’t angry because of this.”
I looked up and asked, “What’s that about?”
“Downstairs, Evelyn.”
Barry pursed his lips, looking particularly distressed. “Mr. Bentley asked Mr. Valence to come back. Just as Mr. Valence walked in, Evelyn showed up. She lingered here and refused to leave, insisting that Mr. Valence would definitely marry her.”
“You better make her give up now!”
Chapter 51 Bentley’s Anger
A door away, Bentley’s harsh voice rang out, perhaps intentionally directed at Evelyn. “You are not allowed to entertain such thoughts! If you want to learn from Charlie how to flirt with other women casually, you might as well anger me to death. Once I’m gone, you can do whatever you want.”
