The report
With that realization, Melissa stayed by her godmother’s side as she taught her to prepare some dishes with the hope of talking to Jessica.
With Jessica’s remarks and her attitude, Melissa suspected she had information that could take her a step closer to the evidence she needed. Once the food was ready they sat at the dining table to eat but Jessica didn’t join them. She asked for her lunch to be brought to her room and her mother didn’t question it.
Leaving Melissa with a question of how safe it was to bring her son along.
…
“What the hell?” Sitting in her office, Diana bellowed as she scrutinized the information she had ordered her men to find about Melissa.
When the kidnapping didn’t go through as planned, she hired more men to retrieve the boy from the hospital but the security was tightened. No unauthorized personnel would not get near the boy’s room.
A day later the boy was transferred to the biggest hospital in the city ruining her plan to keep Melissa in the province. As she knew, Melissa had no money to pay the hospital so she sent her men to dig for any information they could get. To find any connection between her and the Johnsons when she heard Mark Johnson had been in town helping her.
Though she was an employee in one of his affiliate companies, Diana knew no CEO would go out of his way to help a low life employee. Especially an employee who had not worked for long. Looking at the report, certainly she was right.
“No no no.” The more she read it the more furious she got.
“How could this have happened?” Screaming, she knocked down everything from the table wishing she would do the same to Melissa.
Hearing the commotion though the office was soundproof, her secretary went to check on her but was almost hit by the frying stapler Diana threw at her.
“Get out.” As Diana roared, the secretary hastily shut the door with trembling hands.
With her hand on her chest, she ran to the other side of the office.
Diana was always calm and collected. So composed they had never seen her as furious as she was and no one knew why.
“Sir, I’m sorry.” Busting into Mr. Steven’s office where he was holding a closed door meeting, she tried to steady her breathing so she could talk.
“What’s wrong?” Mr. Steven questioned stopping the meeting.
“I… it’s ma’am Diana sir.”
“Did something happen to my daughter?” He asked dropping the documents from his hands.
“She is… we need your help, sir.”
Apologizing to the client, he quickly left his office for Diana’s office.
…
Diana didn’t believe it. After all, she had done Melissa got the best. As always.
Five years ago she had gone out of town with her father for one of his business meetings. At dinner, she met the finance minister who was a close associate of her father’s. Whom despite his age he always had a younger woman by his side since his wife’s death.
Being introduced to him was an honor for Diana. He treated her with respect just like a father would treat his daughter, with no romantic interest in her. She went to his functions all the time but his view of her never changed until that day she took Melissa along to his home for his fiftieth birthday party. From the moment he set his gaze on Melissa, he couldn’t keep his eyes off her.
He was like a dog after a bone, willing to pay a hefty amount just to have Melissa as his woman for a night.
Diana tried severally to take her to meet up with him but Melissa always declined.
Taking advantage of the party that was held at the hotel, she booked a room and had Melissa taken into the room after drugging her. Later that night enjoying her accomplishments, she got a call from the minister demanding to know why she took the money and didn’t deliver.
He kept pestering her for weeks but Diana had lost touch with Melissa. Trying to get from his clutches, she threatened to expose some of his dirty deeds when he couldn’t quit pestering her.
Retaliating, the minister destroyed every piece of evidence she had and had Diana arrested and tortured in jail to teach her a lesson.
Months later Diana sent him a woman after being released and made sure she got back at him for all the days she had spent in jail. He was later found dead in the hotel room from a cardiac arrest.
Ranging mad, she looked at the report again and again not comprehending all she read.
Melissa was living at Johnson’s villa and had a child with the most powerful person she couldn’t go against. Melissa was the mother of the first grandson of the Johnson family. The soul heir to Johnson’s wealth, and if she ever decided to go after them for what happened to her parents, then they wouldn’t stand a chance.
With Mark as her backer, Diana couldn’t touch her.
Walking into the office, Mr. Steven slapped Diana hard on the face stopping her craziness.
“Get hold of yourself, Diana.” He urged trying to calm her down.
“She won dad, Melissa won.” She sniffed rubbing her hands together to calm herself down. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“What happened?” Asking what had happened to infuriate her so much, Diana handed the report to him. Looking at the report he too couldn’t believe it.
“This is nothing to go crazy for.” Tossing the documents on the office desk, he talked Diana out of going after Melissa feeling it was not wise to attack her.
Despite the information, Diana was not ready to let Melissa go. The only chance she had was to separate Melissa from Mark. Make her look bad and unqualified to be part of the Johnson family.
And though her father didn’t want her to do anything to Melissa which may cause trouble for them, as their benefactor had specifically ordered them not to harm her after the kidnapping, that was not going to stop her.
