Chapter 1438

Chapter 1438 An Unexpected Fight

This driver was usually friendly toward Ian and Cindy, but he was still a rather hot-tempered individual. “Yeah, I’m talking about you.” Linda widened her eyes as she glared at the driver.

Swoosh. The driver got to his feet the very next second. “Who do you think you are? You want me to greet you, huh? Do you think I would want to greet someone with an attitude like yours?”

Linda’s assistant had been following closely behind her, and she thought that Linda was being a little too much. On top of that, Linda had received a lot of backlash after she got too close with one of the male celebrities—the public thought her approach was too aggressive. A good number of female fans, in particular, were boycotting Linda because of this. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

The assistant hastily rushed forward to calm Linda down. “Don’t get mad, Linda. There’s no need for this. Don’t get too worked up over this, okay?” The assistant then turned to the driver. “Please don’t mind her. Linda’s in a bad mood today. I’m sorry.” The assistant spoke in a nice and gentle tone—it was evident that she was attempting to protect Linda’s reputation.

However, Linda wasn’t in her right mind today, and she abruptly lifted her hand to give her assistant a slap across the cheek. “I didn’t ask for your opinion. It’s not your turn to speak, you useless thing.”

The assistant was taken aback by the sudden attack, and she staggered backward before falling into the chair beside her. Cindy let out a soft gasp before she ran over to help the assistant up. “Are you okay?” The assistant was too stunned to speak. She simply pressed a hand against her cheek as she remained silent.

It was rare for Cindy to mind someone else’s business, but she couldn’t just sit back and watch in that situation. She turned around to look at Linda. “How could you do that? Who are you to hit someone else?”

Linda shot Cindy a glare. “I can hit whoever I like. This is none of your business. Do you think you’re somebody just because you developed some form of relationship with Ian? You’re just an assistant who tried to seduce a celebrity you’re supposed to work for. Don’t you have any shame?”

The driver was infuriated by Linda’s words. He knew that he was the reason for the whole fight, so he stepped closer to address Linda. “Who do you think you are? Aren’t you being shameless by acting all high and mighty toward others? You sure have a loud voice for someone who isn’t even famous. You even expect me to greet you! Who are you? You’re just some washed-up artist—people reject you even if you send yourself to their doorsteps. Haven’t you seen all the criticisms about you on the Internet? You can’t even manage to seduce a man properly.”

Linda had already been in a bad mood, and she completely lost her temper after hearing the driver’s words. She charged toward him. The driver was a tall man, and he was relatively strong although he wasn’t too burly. He grabbed onto Linda’s shoulder and pushed her away the moment she ran toward him. However, Linda seemed to have lost all control over herself. She stumbled backward after the driver pushed her, but she immediately charged toward him again.

The driver couldn’t tolerate her any longer, and he applied even more strength to push her away the second time. She immediately fell onto the ground, and she ended up right beside Cindy’s feet. Cindy shot Linda a glance, but she didn’t bother to help Linda up. She merely helped Linda’s assistant to her feet.

At this point, Linda realized that it was impossible for her to go against the driver. In comparison, she knew that Cindy would be an easier target for her, so she decided to grab Cindy’s arm instead. “You shameless b*tch. Who do you all think you are? Even Ian wouldn’t treat me like this. You’re only his assistant, and you’re only his driver—how could you guys have the nerve to do this to me?”

Cindy wobbled a little as she hadn’t expected Linda to touch her. “Let go of me right now,” Cindy uttered in a rather displeased tone. She flung Linda’s hand away right after finishing her sentence.

Linda had never shown much respect for her own assistant, so she naturally didn’t think that other assistants deserved her respect in general. Once Cindy flung Linda’s hand away, Linda immediately reached forward to attack Cindy again. However, Cindy’s movements were a little faster than Linda had expected. Cindy managed to grab Linda’s wrist right before Linda sent a slap across Cindy’s face.

Cindy was considered strong for a woman, but she hadn’t applied much strength to her grip. Even so, it didn’t stop Linda from wailing in pain. At that very moment, the doors to the lounge were pushed open, and Ian and Hannah walked into the room just in time to witness this scene. Both of them were shocked to see the fight that was going on.

“What’s happening here?” Hannah knitted her brows together, obviously displeased. Meanwhile, Linda’s assistant was still clutching onto her swollen cheek as she stood by the side with tears welling up in her eyes.
