Chapter 57 She’s not my intention
“Riya, please do you have your mom’s number?”.
Decerning I had no idea where I placed my phone, I turned to Riya, for help, the young lady in question here, shook her head after giving me a deadly glare in her eyes.
“Wow, you’re just too much Riya” I frowned upon turning my gaze away, we have got to find a safe place to be for today, since the day has already gone.
My eyes wandered away, spotting a little cottage a few blocks from where we stood, it was the only solution Riya and I had, so with that, I walked past veering her eyes to me.
She walks behind still holding a grumpy face, as I knocked at the front door of the cottage we had no idea whom it belongs to.
” who is it?” An elderly woman pulled the door opened and saw two strangers at her front porch, so I said, “Hello ma’am, good evening, I don’t know how to say this, but our car broke down and checked everywhere for help, but all to no avail, so my wife and I was hopeful that you can help us stay in for tonight, then tomorrow morning, we will be on our way!”. (Smiles).
The old lady sprouts a cautious look at us, especially Riya who was about to give it away that, we weren’t married to each other, ” urgh”.
After a long scan, she lets us in and ushered us to her visitor’s room, Riya soared her eyes round before repaying it, receding her words to me.
“Can you kindly explain, what the heck you said, a while ago? Who is married to whom? Huh!”. A funny look draped over her face, smurding a weak smile on mine, “aww! Don’t worry sweetheart, it was only a way to obtain a roof over our heads, so don’t worry that little brain of yours!”.
I veered back to leave but halted when I noticed she held me back, repaying my attention to her, ” little brain of mine? See who’s talking, the same person who keeps pretending, he doesn’t feel anything nor get influenced by anyone, why don’t you tell me! Mr. Salem Baltimore who are you?”.
I gently pulled my hands from her, as she fiddles for my response, “your highness, I am waiting?” She said to me.
“Waiting for what? I don’t think I have any explanation for you and if you’re still mad because of my words the other time, please be my guest and keep acting like a child”.
Riya drags her feet back, startled by my words, she jerks her head at me and left afterward in a hurtful manner.
” I am sorry Riya, it hurts me more than it does to you but it’s the best way to keep you far from me and endangering your life”.
(I contemplated to myself, and saw as she tucks her to bed).
THE FOLLOWING DAY
I couldn’t get myself to sleep and not quite long, Riya gets up from bed and veers to me.
“Good morning” she greets and walked into the bathroom, I glued my eyes and wondered, what’s going on with her, did my words hurt her to a point that, her greetings to me, was as cold as ice, the same way I behaved towards her.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
