The Imposter Bride (Natalia and Magnus)

Chapter 564

Chapter 564

Johanson had stayed up all night by Anna's side, giving her sips of water repeatedly, and making sure her fever subsided. Only when he was confident that the fever had broken did he allow himself to drift off into a weary sleep.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

He didn't care about why Anna had gotten into a scuffle; his sole concern was whether she had been hurt. As long as she wasn't at a disadvantage, he would shoulder any burden for her, no matter how great.

The following day, as the fever finally broke, Anna woke up to find Johanson slumped on the couch, having stood guard over her. Awave of gratitude surged through her heart. No matter what hardships she faced, it was a blessing to have her big brother by her side.

She tiptoed out of bed, picked up a throw blanket, and gently draped it over the sleeping Johanson, stirring him from his light slumber.

Johanson's eyes, red with the strain of the night, blinked open. "Grace, you're awake? Feeling any better?"

"Yeah, I'm a lot better now, Johanson. Thanks for everything,” Anna said, a hint of regret in her voice. "| made a mess yesterday, got punished by the teacher, and ended up embarrassing you."

Johanson sat up and felt Anna's forehead to make sure she no longer had a fever, and then he sighed, relieved. He ruffled her hair affectionately and chuckled, "Silly girl, if | can't protect you, who can? Don't worry; I've got your back."

Anna nodded, whispering the events of the previous day—how Cindy had provoked her by splashing water on her, how she couldn't hold back and they ended up fighting, and how the teacher punished her by making her write an apology letter.

Johanson frowned in displeasure. "Did your teacher just take Cindy's word for it?"

"Yes, the teacher said she saw me stepping on Cindy but didn't see Cindy hit me. She even said Cindy's family could buy dozens of schools with their money!"

"That's outrageous, blatant favoritism!" Johanson exclaimed, standing up from the couch. "I'm going to have a word with that teacher right now. Money isn't everything!"

Anna quickly grabbed his shirt. "No, Johanson, the teacher was right. When she came, | was on top of Cindy. There's no point in arguing.”

"That doesn't make it okay. A teacher like that is a disgrace. | have to set things straight!" Johanson said, storming out the door.

Anna feared another confrontation with the teacher, and hurried after him, trying to calm him down. "Johanson, please don't be so angry. I'm fine now. There's no need to confront the teacher."

But Johanson's temper had flared up, especially after hearing that the teacher had openly sided with Cindy. He was determined to clear the air, or Anna would face the same issue again.

As they made their way to the school, unaware of the commotion inside, Cindy sat in the teacher's office with an exaggerated bandage on her face, and her mother—clad in flashy jewelry and heavy makeup—stood by her side.

The mother's lips were painted a fiery red as she slammed her hand on the teacher's desk. "This is outrageous! Where is that girl? Bring her to me! | want to see who dares to lay a finger on my precious daughter!"

The teacher, intimidated by Cindy's formidable mother, didn't dare speak up. The school board member adjusted his gold- rimmed glasses and spoke in an official tone, "We are a prestigious school known for our well-mannered, affluent students. It might be worth considering expelling those who don't fit the mold."

"Yes, of course, | understand," Ms. Taylor replied, eager to please.

Cindy's mother looked at the board member. "I don't understand how you can allow such students here. They're already fighting at such a young age!"

Hearing the suggestion of expelling Anna made Cindy jump for joy. She was grateful to her "uncle," the board member.

“Of course, even if we weren't related, | wouldn't tolerate such behavior in our school!" the board member said, smiling with satisfaction.

Ms. Taylor promptly picked up the phone and called Anna. "Grace, in light of your recent conduct end)! fahingeribarliny ene which has severely tarnished our school's reputation, we've decided to expel you. Don't bother coming back," she said, then hung up before Anna could respond. Please read the original content at .

Anna's eyes brimmed with tears. She called out to Johanson, who was marching ahead, "Johanson, there's no need to go. I've been expelled!"

Johanson stopped dead in his tracks, turning to face Anna. "What? Expelled?!" "Yeah," Anna nodded, "Ms. Taylor just called. She said that I've been expelled because of my past behavior."

"That's preposterous!" Johanson rolled up his sleeves angrily, "These people have gone too far! | need to see them. They need to explain on what grounds they've expelled you!"

Anna quickly grabbed Johanson’s arm. “Johanson, please, it’s really okay. If they don’t want me here, I'll find another school. We can transfer, no big deal.”

“No way!” Johanson was fuming, a belly full of fire with nowhere to vent. “Just like that, theywantito bush you ouyr that $dutrageous! I'm going to confront your teachers and find out exactly why they're trying to expel you!” Please read the original content at .

“You shouldn't make it tough for the teachers,” Anna pondered for a moment. “Cindy's gees oncthal! ! sehoohboacd, IM et he’s been pressuring them. It’s fine, really. If I’m not welcome here, |'ll shine somewhere else. I’m not even bothered by it!” Please read the original content at .

Despite Anna's words, Johanson was still seething with anger. He silently noted and swore an oath deep within his heart—he would never forgive Cindy’s family, the Rodriguezes, in this lifetime!
