Chapter 27
Chapter 27
"What's wrong?" She mumbled in confusion and was unable to think.
Derek could only feel a sharp feeling in the place where he was touched. But in a moment, he actually
had a hard-on in front of this woman...
The veins of the man's forehead were bulging. This was the first time when a woman had shamelessly
pressed close to him, and he was stirred.
"You asked for it." Perhaps he was also affected by the strong smell of alcohol on Meredith's body, so
Derek brought her to fall on the big bed behind him.
He looked at the blushing Meredith condescendingly. Her delicate lips were glistening in the light, and
the smell of red wine swallowed his remaining reason.
Derek lowered his head to kiss her when Meredith suddenly opened her mouth and said, "Wesley...
You... You bastard."
The man's name suddenly popped up in Meredith's mouth, making Derek feel like he was poured with
cold water. The lust that had just been stirred up suddenly faded away.
He pinched the woman's delicate cheeks, "Who are you calling?"
Meredith only mumbled a few words. Being pinched so hard that Derek lost his patience, and he
shrugged her away and then left the master bedroom.
Meredith felt a little uncomfortable because of him. She scolded Leo several times and then turned
over to fall asleep.
Derek went into the bathroom with a cold face.
Damn it! The name she just called wasn't not "Julius". So, did she hook up with another man?
Within one month she left prison, she had already changed two men. He really underestimated her.
The cold water was flowing down, taking away the body temperature. But the man's eyes were colder
than the body temperature now.
When Meredith woke up, she was startled because she found herself sleeping on the big bed in the
master bedroom.
Fortunately, she took a look and found that there was no sign of anyone else sleeping on the bed.
Presumably, Derek didn't come back yesterday.
Meredith felt a little guilty, so she quickly put away the wine bottles and other things. And then she
cleaned up the traces she left on the bed.
After cleaning up, Meredith was going to go to work with a headache caused by the hangover. Derek
just appeared in front of her when she was going out.
"What are you going to do?"
Meredith looked at him in surprise, "Of course I am going to work."
Derek usually didn't care about her daily life. But today his abrupt question made her heart jerk.
Derek's face was grim. "the Xaviers never lacks food and clothes, and I also give you pocket money.
From today on, you don't have to go anywhere, just stay at home."
Meredith became anxious as she heard this.
Although her work did not earn much money, she troubled Julius about arranging it. She also made up
her mind to stand firm in society through her own efforts.
Derek suddenly told her to stay at home. She wasn't his plaything who he kept home.
"No, I have to go to work. I have to earn money to support myself."
"Who knows whether you're going to work or to hook up with men?" Derek gave her a cold look as he
found that she answered back. "You are not allowed to embarrass the Xaviers."
Meredith was annoyed to hear that he labeled seducing others on her for no reason.
"You keep talking about the Xaviers, but do you think the Xaviers will give me a hand if I wander down
the street in the future?"
"I'm not a young master like you, who has a luxurious villa and servants serve you since you were born.
Now I just want to learn how to support myself now? Are there any problems? I have a job, so at least, I
won't be too embarrassed if you kick me out one day!"
After saying that, Meredith left the Xaviers regardless of Derek's expression.
She would never give up her job. If she stayed at the Xaviers like she was in jail every day, when would Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
she be able to earn money to pick up her mother?
Derek was looking at her stubborn back with darkened eyes.
...
Meredith arrived at the company with oppression. Before she could open the door, she suddenly heard
someone inside chattering about something.
"You know, Meredith only has a high school degree, and I don't know why her backstage is so
powerful."
"Tut, tut, I just heard that she seemed to be a mistress and came in through the back door."
"I heard she had been in jail!"
Meredith's face turned pale as soon as she heard the few words. When she joined this company, she
had always cherished this work opportunity.
Because she knew that she didn't know anything now and that she had parachuted in through the back
door. It was inevitable that someone would contradict her, so Meredith's work attitude was especially
good. She worked hard to help anyone who asked her to do anything.
But now, all of her efforts would become a joke because of these words.
Who on earth hated her so much that they wanted to drive her away and root out?
She just wanted to settle down and found an ordinary job. Why couldn't she get what she wanted?
Meredith remembered what Derek said today. Was it him?
Her face turned pale and Meredith clenched her fists.
"Why are you doing standing here?" At this time, someone passed by the office and saw Meredith
standing at the door, not going in. He asked curiously.
Only then did the people inside calm down. When they saw that the protagonist, who was being
discussed, had come in, they were quiet for a moment.
Then, someone said in an ironic tone, "Someone is a girl who usually looks quite normal, but I didn't
expect her to be so shameless. You may know a person's face but not his mind."
Meredith pretended not to hear and opened the document in front of her. But her hand that was holding
the pen in her hand betrayed her. The tip of the pen kept shaking and shaking, and she couldn't even
write.
...
Meredith didn't know how she got through the day. The office was not big and her gossip, like a gust of
wind, quickly blew through every corner of the company.
No matter where she went, she would be met with strange and disdainful eyes, as if she was some
kind of terrible and disgusting virus. And she would bring disaster wherever she appeared.
When Meredith muddled home from work, she saw Derek drinking coffee gracefully at home. It was
just a simple gesture, but which had cut an invisible gap with someone like her.
"Why did you do that?" Meredith couldn't help but ask.
Derek was tall and powerful, who could control everything. Why did he go against her, play with her,
and stamped on her to death? Was it fun?
"What?" Derek frowned and looked at Meredith's angry face. Her face was red, and a few drops of
sweat were dripping down her forehead. It seemed that she was very angry.
"Stop pretending to be innocent. Don't you just want me not to work at the company?" Meredith only
felt that he dared not admit what he had done. It was ridiculous. "I won't give in. I must keep working in
the company. We'll see."
After that, she turned around and left. Since Derek looked down on her and wanted to destroy her. She
would be defeated.
Only then did Derek put down the coffee cup in his hand with a frown, with piercing eyes.
What kind of tricks was this woman playing?
...
For the next few days, Meredith got up early every day. She thought that since her colleagues
misunderstood her, she had to show her sincerity.
She believed that action could shatter rumors.
However, the situation did not improve as she had expected. Many people began to make things
difficult because they knew about her miserable past.
"What's going on? You don't even know how to make a chart. Have you spent all your time making old
men happy in bed?"
