Chapter 106
Chapter 106
The current situation was, whether she really did the stealing or not, they could tell just by the way these ladies were dressed that they clearly came from loaded families, here to throw a birthday bash.
If Ashley did indeed ruin their good vibes, then yeah, it’s on her.
Ashley was forced to apologize but adamantly denied she stole the bracelet.
Soon, a staffer walked in. “This here’s the CCTV footage, and I don’t see Ashley swiping anything”
But, this didn’t exactly prove Ashley didn’t do the swiping either
The lady who lost her stuff is named Astnd According to her, she took off her bracelet and put it in her bag when she went to the restroom. When Ashley came over to pour the drinks, the other two ladies were right there on the couch, super close to the bag.
The CCTV was on a rotation
When it swung to the other side, there would be a few seconds of blind spot.
If someone nicked the bracelet in those few seconds, no one would see it.
Astrid looked stunned.
Her two besties were clearly not amused
“You’re saying I took Astrid’s bracelet?” a Chanel–clad lady called Lerla stood up, fuming. “What the hell? So the server swipes a bracelet and you’re pinning it on me and Winnie?”
Winnie chimed in, “That bracelet was my birthday gift to Astrid, why would I steal a gift I gave her?”
As soon as this was out, Leila looked pissed.
Within those five seconds, Leila and Winnie were closest to the bag. The pink diamond bracelet was Winnie’s gift, she obviously wouldn’t steal it. So, it boiled down to Leila and Ashley.
Ashley looked at Leila.
Astrid also shot Leila a glance, furrowing her brows.
Could it be?
Leila, feeling the stares, blurted out, “The server steals something and you want to blame me? Like I need the money!” She took Astrid’s hand, “Astrid, call the cops, let’s teach this server a lesson!”
Ashley quickly looked at Sarah.
Sarah was also getting anxious. The CCTV footage really couldn’t clear Ashley’s name.
Besides, those two were rich girls, they wouldn’t need to steal anything.
Things were escalating Astrid’s bracelet was gone, and they wouldn’t let it slide without answers.
Ashley was praying Sarah could vouch for her, when Payton and Allison walked in. She rushed over, “Allison, Payton.”
“It’s you!”
Before Allison could speak, a girl in a beige plaid dress on the sofa suddenly exclaimed excitedly, “Allison, do you remember me?”
Allison was taken aback, looking at the beaming Nanette.
What a coincidence… she just met her at the banquet yesterday and here she was again.
Allison didn’t say anything. Nanette thought she forgot and quickly added, “Don’t you remember? Yesterday, at the banquet, I spilled wine on you…”

Nanette finally laughed, “What a coincidence.”
She even gave her a wink, “We spent a long time talking about you last night.”
Why were they talking about her?
