Chapter 34
Chapter 34
“This is the first time ‘Ramirez Romantica’ is launching a new line, and it’s aimed at urban young professional women, so my design leans towards the younger crowd, specifically targeting females in their 20s to 30s…”
When someone’s In their confident field, they shine.
Throughout the meeting, Letitia was killing it with her mad skills.
“Bravo!” Samson was the first to start clapping. The rest joined in with the applause. Only Elgin was looking at her, his gaze deep and unfathomable.
“Tomorrow, we can start turning these sketches into actual work,” Samson said, “Mr. Ramirez, any other thoughts?”
Out of the blue, the general manager chimed in, “Mr. Ramirez, you’ve just tied the knot, and Designer Sanders is talented. How about letting her design a wedding ring for Mrs. Ramirez?”
Elgin’s face did a little dance, and Letitia was gobsmacked.
Design my own wedding ring? You’ve got to be kidding me…
The general manager kept pitching. This way, we can hype up Mrs. Ramirez’s ring as a marketing stunt, plaster it everywhere, and give ‘Ramirez Romantica’ a fame boost! Two birds, one stone, what do you
think?”
Samson’s mouth twitched, replying, “Only you could’ve cooked up something like this.”
“Right, Mr. Stewan? I knew you’d be on my side!”
Samson was speechless.
Elgin was tapping his finger on the table, pondering. Finally, he said, “Sure…”
“No way!” Before his words had a chance to fully echo, Letitia’s voice of dissent cut through. All eyes immediately turned towards her.
Elgin’s the big boss – his word is law. Who dares cross him? Designer Sanders surely was bold.
“I don’t think it’s appropriate.” Letitia bit her lip, “Mr. Ramirez has always kept a low profile, not keen on airing his private life. Now that he’s married, he’d probably want to shield his family’s privacy even more.”
What a joke…
Not to mention it’s awkward to design her own wedding ring, but she feared that in the end, the ring she poured her heart and soul into wouldn’t end up on her finger, but on Shela’s
Elgin would give it to Shela, after all, he dotes on her that much. So, Letitia would not do it.
Elgin looked at her, his voice low, “Letitia, are you opposing me?”
There was a warning in his tone. She had no right to oppose him, especially not in the middle of a meeting, in front of all the execs.
“Mr. Ramirez, I… I’m afraid I won’t be able to nail it, and Mrs. Ramirez might not like it.”
“She’ll like what you design.”
“But..
“No buts. Elgin cut in firmly. “It’s settled.”
Letitia wanted to protest, but Samson hurriedly shot her a look.
Elgin stood up, claiming, “Meeting adjourned.”
The general manager was smug, “I made Mr. Ramirez happy and pleased Mrs. Ramirez.”
“Yeah, you’re quite the smarty-pants, Samson patted his shoulder, “Too bad Mrs. Ramirez doesn’t seem too thrilled.
“What? Mrs Ramirez already knows about this?”
Without replying, Samson shrugged and left the conference room.
Elgin headed to the president’s office, with footsteps hurrying behind him.
Mr. Ramirez, wait up.” Letitia caught up with him, “About designing the ring…”
“It’s done.”
Letitia looked at him, words stuck in her throat. Defying him was asking for trouble, but she really didn’t want to make the ring for Shela.
“Mr. Ramirez, a wedding ring is sacred, symbolizes marriage and fidelity, represents a beautiful love,” Letitia still spoke her mind, “It can’t be decided lightly, and certainly shouldn’t be a marketing gimmick for Ramirez Romantica.”
Elgin raised an eyebrow, “Are you lecturing me?”
Just then, Elgin’s phone rang. He took out his cell, “Hello?”
“Mr. Ramirez, help, come save me!” Shela’s shrill voice came through, “There’s a crazy woman here… she’s trying to take my stuff… Ah! Get away!” Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Elgin frowned, “Who?”
“I don’t know her, she… she says she’s your mother! Ah! That’s mine!”
Elgin strode out quickly.
Ranen looked puzzled, “What’s up with Mrs. Phedra and Shela?”
Letitia kept her head down, silent. Phedra was moving fast and had already found Shela.
This is going to be a show! She couldn’t wait for Shela to have a taste of her own medicine.
‘Letitia, Elgin’s voice drifted from afar, “Come on!”
Great, now she could witness the drama unfold.
In the living room of Breezy Bay Condos.
Shela glared at Phedra, “I’ve called Mr. Ramirez! He’ll be here any minute… and then you’re toast, pretending to be Mrs. Ramirez and trying to snatch my bracelet!”
“I am Elgin’s mother, and he’ll have to acknowledge that when he arrives! As for you, hand over that bracelet before I ask again!”
Phedra wanted to wrap this up quick, before Elgin showed up and made it harder to snatch the emerald bracelet.
Once it was in her hands, she’d bolt, and even if Elgin asked for it back, she wouldn’t give in!
“This is mine!” Shela argued, “You’re robbing me!”
“Did you pay for it? Daring to call it yours? You’re spending my family’s money!” Phedra charged again. But Shela guarded her wrist, where the emerald bracelet lay.
“Hand it over!” Phedra certainly didn’t lack a fighting spirit; her attacks were relentless.
Shela’s wrist was turning red, close to breaking skin.
“You crazy woman… Help!” Shela exclaimed, “I bought the emerald bracelet myself, and it has nothing to do with you or the Ramirez family!”
“Ha, don’t try to fool me!” Phedra grabbed Shela’s wrist with one hand and yanked the bracelet off with the other.
She gleefully stuffed it into her pocket and took off without a second thought.
“Stop right there, Furning, Shela chased after her, “Give it back!”
As the two souffled, Elgin showed up.
Shela immediately burst into tears and complained, “Mr. Ramirez, it was her, she pretended to be your mother and stole my bracelet.”
Letitia, with her arms crossed, chimed in from the sidelines, “She’s not pretending. She’s just… my stepmom.”
“What?”
Phedra clutched the emerald bracelet tightly, “Elgin, you gave such a precious emerald to such a woman, it’s a waste!! won’t stand for it!”
“What emerald?”
“This bracelet!” Phedra quickly flashed it for him to see.
Elgin got it in a heartbeat. “You two are fighting over this emerald bracelet?”
“Yes! Even if you gave it to Letitia, I wouldn’t say a thing, but to this slut, I won’t have it!”
Shela screamed, “You’re the slut! You as the stepmom must’ve used your wily ways to climb to the top back in the day!”
It’s like a dog-eat-dog situation.
Elgin spoke up indifferently. “It’s a fake, and the real one is with me.”
