Chapter 14 A Day of Mockery
Thanks to this incident, Natasha remembered Farrah. The latter suppressed her shock and took the elevator to the design department’s floor.
Marie quite liked Farrah’s designs and was complimenting her creativity when Natasha burst into the room. “Farrah Tatel”
Farrah jolted in surprise. Natasha berated her for a while, warning, “You’d better go the other way if you happen to see Mr. Locke, especially recently. Make sure he forgets about what happened today! I’ll be out for your blood if you drag the design department down
Farrah wished she could steer clear of Adrian, but…. they still had to sleep in the same bed that night. Still, she didn’t dare say anything in retort. She stood with her back straight and nodded fervently. “Yes, ma’am. I’ll commit that to memory. I’m sorry, Ms. Gray. It’s all my fault.”
Natasha didn’t harp on about the matter when she saw that Farrah was earnest in owning up to her mistakes. It helped that Marie spoke up for her. Besides, she was also busy with work
After Marie negotiated Farrah’s salary and got her to sign the employment contract, she asked, “Are you free today?”
“Yes, of course.”
“You won’t get paid for today, but if you have time, you can head to the main office next door to learn about the design department’s workflows from your new colleagues,” Marie said.
“Got it.”
Marie brought Farrah next door and introduced her to everyone. “Attention, everyone. Let me introduce. you to our new colleague.”
“Hi, everyone. My name is Farrah Tate. I hope we’ll get along well,” Farrah said politely.
Her colleagues welcomed her. After a round of introductions, Marie left.
Just then, a young woman laughed. “Your name sounds so similar to “fairy tale. Is that why you thought you wanted to leave Mr. Locke with an impression? So, you could be like Cinderella?” NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
Evidently, this designer had been downstairs earlier. The others were confused by her words, so she recounted the incident to them, making Farrah flush with embarrassment.
Someone mocked, “Looks like someone has read one too many romance novels in their free time.”
“A fairy tale, huh? Here’s a kind reminder–Mr. Locke may be new to his position, but that doesn’t meant he’s a fool. Rumor has it that he’s already secretly controlled the company for years.”
“Also, he might or
those fantasies a

ocus on your work!”
“If you want to catch Mr. Locke’s attention, it’d be best to do so with your work!” a man with blond hair- said. He looked quite fashionable, even sporting a nose ring. “We’re launching a jewelry line called Enduring Moments‘ at the end of this year, and it’s one of Mr. Locke’s main focuses.
“I heard from Ms. Brown that you don’t have any experience in designing. How will you compete with us for the right to design the jewelry line? Don’t forget the company is retrenching people left, right, and
center.”
In a nutshell, Farrah’s unofficial day at the design department wasn’t exactly the nicest. She had to listen to her new colleagues‘ mockery the whole day, but she was mentally strong enough that it didn’t get to

her.
Firstly, she liked designing and wanted to give it a shot Passion was the key to making a career last for at lifetime.
Secondly, she needed the job because she needed the income to put Mason through high school and college.
When it was finally time to get off work, Farrah gave Marie a heads–up before taking the elevator downstairs. She couldn’t help thinking about what had happened that morning as she walked across the lobby.
It still baffled her that Adrian was the CEO of Prestige Group. Didn’t that make her the CEO’s wife? Wouldn’t her children be heirs to a massive fortune?
As soon as she stepped out of the building, she saw Adrian heading toward his car, which was parked nearby. A driver nodded respectfully at him before opening the door. It was the same car he’d taken at city hall.
Farrah took a photo of the car before it left. Coincidentally, Germaine happened to see this as she left the building.
