Chapter 19 Fiancé
Walking towards the teaching building, Melody’s cell phone rang as she passed the hall.
Kevin just gave her back the cell phone yesterday. Melody saw her sister Sandy’s number flashing on the screen. She hesitated and answered.
“Hello.”
“Sis, where are you?”
“At school.”
Sandy’s voice was plaintive, “where have you been these days? I’ve called you so many times and never got your response. Are you okay?”
Recalling what happened the other day, Melody clenched her lips and remained silent for a moment before she could speak again. “Sandy, I’m fine. I’m going to class. I don’t wanna talk about it.”
“Err, wait, I see you! Don’t move…”
Melody looked at her cell phone doubtfully. Soon, Sandy appeared.Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
“Why are you here?”
Sandy rushed forward to hug Melody and said affectionately, “I’m here to attend to a lecture. By the way, your wounds…”
Sandy looked at her sister carefully and found that there was not a scar on her body. She couldn’t believe her eyes: “Why do your wounds recover so quickly, and your baby…”
“I am not pregnant! The wound has healed and I am seeing a doctor.” Melody didn’t want to struggle with this so she changed the topic, “You mentioned you are here for a lecture? What is it?”
“Don’t you know? John Green has returned home. Father asked me to come and listen to his lecture. I know you are here, so I want to take you with me.”
John Green?
Her legendary fiancé?
Over the years, she had never seen him in person.
Why did he suddenly return home?
Sandy raised her hand and waved in front of Melody’s eyes. “Sis, are you still upset with father? In fact, you don’t have to take it seriously. What father said was only a temporary angry remark. I won’t rob your fiancé from you.”
Melody wore a sore smile. How could her father have said such hurtful words? They were determined to drive her out. The Lowe manor was no longer her home.
“Don’t say that. Where is the lecture? I will go with you.”
Sandy nodded and smiled happily. “Excellent! It’s Room 402 in Block B.”
…
John Green, famous lawyer in China who had a successful career since graduating from School of Law of XX University. After studying law in the United States, he was proficient in the laws and regulations of various countries. What’s more, He was invincible in court and were nicknamed as “the law killer”.
“Sis, there are so many people coming today.” The large classroom was full of people, and Sandy couldn’t help marveling.
The two men finally found a corner to sit down and breathed a sigh of relief.
“I didn’t expect that he graduated from my university.” Looking at the introduction page of John Green on the projector, Melody praised: “It’s amazing!”
“He is good enough for you,” Sandy giggled.
Surrounded by a sudden sorrow, Melody stopped talking.
At the beginning of the lecture, the counselor of the Law Department came to the stage to make a brief introduction. After that, John Green was welcomed to everyone’s applause.
This was the first time Melody had seen him. The sun came in from the window and hit his side face, reflecting a layer of brilliance. The whole person looked tall.
Dressed in a simple casual suit, he walked into the classroom with elegant steps and stood on the platform amid everyone’s applause.
The law killer. It seems that this word does not match him very well. It seems that he is a little more like a gentleman. Melody wondered.
“Hey, sis…”
Melody realized that Sandy was calling her.
“Sis, are you attracted by him?”
Melody blushed, “No, no.”
“Come on! How could you miss such a perfect man?” Sandy supported her chin with one hand and looked at her with a teasing smile.
Melody slightly rolled her eyes, and her heart kindled with an unspeakable feeling.
Sandy did not continue to tease her and sat down and listened carefully to the lecture.
“Greetings to you all, dear students…”
The magnetic voice was extremely penetrating, enough to make the girls fall in love with him.
“Wow, he is really handsome…”
“And he has sexy voice too…”
“Stop dreaming about him! I heard that John Green has a fiancée, and the marriage was arranged by the family since childhood.”
“Who is the girl? What a lucky bastard…”
“I don’t know, but I heard that John Green returned home this time because of marriage.”
“Ah… it’s a pity, such a handsome man…”
“…”
