Chapter 1 So Barefaced That It Made People Disgusted
In Ducco, autumn had approached, and the air was full of chills.
Amanda Jewell leaned against the bathroom door behind her. The air was suffocating and oppressive.
On the screen of her phone was a set of photos of a man and a woman who were having sex, which was so barefaced that it made people feel disgusted.
The woman’s face was covered with a perfect mosaic, and only the rose tattoo behind her shoulder could be seen.
The man was none other than her husband, Halley Sean.
The tap was turned on outside the door, accompanied by the staff’s gossip in a low voice.
“Miss Jewell is so capable that she works outside all day long. Won’t she afraid that one day Mr. Sean will betray her?”
“Yeah, although Miss Jewell is capable, she doesn’t care about dressing up and is almost 30 years old.”
“They have been married almost three years and don’t even have a child…”
“I heard that Miss Jewell couldn’t give birth to a baby…”
As the noise dispersed, the outside became quiet again.
Amanda pushed the door open with a pale face. Her face was revealed in the mirror opposite her. She was in an old and neat office lady suit with light makeup. Her long hair was tied up behind her head, and she wore a pair of black-framed glasses on her straight nose bridge. She looked much older than her actual age.
As Amanda looked up at the mirror, the photo reappeared in her mind: How could the man in the photo be her husband? Where on earth was Halley now?
When the doctor told Amanda she couldn’t give birth to a child, Halley had not abandoned her. Amanda had been helping Halley manage the company for three years after marriage. Halley was somewhat a considerate husband.
“Amanda.”
A soft and clear voice suddenly made Amanda stop.
Amanda gathered her thoughts and calmed down.NôvelDrama.Org © content.
“Amanda, what’s wrong? Why do you look so pale?” Olinka Fane walked up behind her and looked at her with concern.
“It’s all right.” Amanda patted the cold water on her face and looked up. She saw that Olinka had changed into a white sling dress. Her curly hair was coiled up high, and she had exquisite makeup. There was a bling-bling diamond stuck on her right eyelid.
“Why are you dressed like this?” Amanda was slightly stunned and wiped her hands with a tissue.
Olinka smiled with her eyes curved as she held Amanda’s arm intimately. “Don’t you remember, Amanda? Tonight is the celebration party of our company. Our project with the Byran Group has been a success.”
The celebration banquet?
Until then, Amanda remembered that she had signed a contract with the Byran Group after a three-month stay. It was indeed the celebratory party tonight.
She was almost confused by the text message on her phone.
“Well, Olinka, wait a minute…”
Amanda’s hand paused, and her gaze fell on Olinka’s back. The rose tattoo on Olinka’s shoulder was very obvious.
“Amanda? What happened?” Olinka tilted her shoulder as if she didn’t know anything, making the tattoo more obvious.
Amanda’s heart sank as she fell to the valley’s bottom.
Just now, Amanda could comfort herself that the photo was post-edited. But now, the owner of the tattoo was standing in front of her. Could she lie to herself?
But… why did it have to be Olinka?
Amanda had chosen Olinka to work as her secretary as soon as she graduated from university. Over the years, Amanda treated Olinka like a younger sister and often joked about how good she was to Olinka.
Who would have thought…
