“UHM, Zoe…” Grant moved closer to Zoe while they stopover in Japan for an hour. Zoe looked at him and arched her brow. Grant gulped as he met Zoe’s eyes. He could clearly see how puffy they were because of her cries. But she manages to stop. “What?” Zoe asked as she looked outside the window. “Speak,” she added. Grant heaved a deep sigh. “Do you want to ask anything about… Helios?” he asked. Zoe turned to face him and frowned. “Are you fucking kidding me?! Are you nuts?!” she yelled, making Grant move back slightly. “I don’t want to hear that name or anything related to him!” “I… I understand,” Grant replied, his heart thumping fast because of a tint of fear. “What’s the noise all about?” Suddenly, Gunner walked toward them, who had just come out of the bathroom. “Your voice is too loud,” he added. Grant looked at Gunner. “Nothing—” “Shut up. Get back to your seat,” Gun said. Grant frowned. “I am five minutes older than you, Gun—” “Get back to your seat,” Gun’s uttered. He pierced his gaze towards his twin brother. And after that, Grant went back to his place. Gun turned to face Zoe. “And you. Stop shouting. We’re just a few steps apart—” “Get lost,” Zoe cut off the hum of his words. Gun formed a sly smirk on his lips. Instead of leaving, he sat beside her, making Zoe frown and react. “What’s with those words, get lost, which you couldn’t understand?” she asked. Gun closed his eyes as he leaned backward, completely ignoring Zoe. Zoe gritted her teeth and raised her fist into the air but stopped. If she can’t hold it, she will punch his face! “Stay away from me,” she uttered with rage. However, Gun didn’t respond and continued to pretend to sleep. “If you don’t stay away from me, I will freaking knock your stupid face—” she paused when Gun suddenly opened his eyes. Zoe met his gaze, and she took the chance to look at the color of the
man’s eyes. Gunner has electric blue eyes and got a sharp nose… “Stop fantasizing about me—Fuck!” Zoe’s palm landed on Gun’s face, making the man curse out loud and glare at her. Silence filled in for seconds, and then it was broken by Grant’s laugh. “A piece of advice, bro… stay away from her,” Grant chimed in. Gun turned to face his brother and glared. “Shut the fuck up!” he exclaimed. He stood up and glared at Zoe. “Be grateful that you’re a girl. If not, I will fucking kill you,” he said in his deep baritone voice. Zoe arched her brow and even crossed her arms in front of her chest. “I am not afraid,” she answered. Gun’s forehead was slightly creased. “Really?” He placed his arms into her sides as he leaned closer to her. He stared at her eyes and could see the awkwardness. “S-Stay away from me, you pervert!” Zoe exclaimed as she pushed Gun away. Gun stood straight and put his hands inside his pockets. “Don’t try me, Levine. If I can’t control myself, I will fucking kill—” “Just fuck and kill yourself, Gunner. You’re a big piece of shit!” she asserted, and after that, she pulled her blanket and covered her face. She already had a hard time last night, and she can’t afford to have it until the following days. She just wanted to forget everything. “Come on, Gun. Let’s play Mobile Legends—” “I’m not in the mood, Grant. I will sleep. So, don’t fucking disturb me!” Gun blurted out. Grant frowned. “Could you stop adding the word fucking to your sentences?” he asked. Gun opened his eyes and arched his left brow. “Why should I fucking remove it?” Grant shook his head and sighed. “You fucking hard-headed!” he said, imitating his twin’s fuckin’ word. Gun smirked and closed his eyes after. Their journey continued, and after several hours, they reached the NAIA. Grant walked towards Zoe and poked her arm lightly.
“Zoe…” Grant poked her arm again, “… we’re here. Wake up,” he added. But Zoe has no reaction. Grant massaged his temple and looked at Gun, whose arms were on his chest and intently watching him. ‘What?’ Grant mouthed, which made Gun grin. Gun stood up and stopped beside him. “If you can’t wake her up. Just yelled—” “She’s pregnant, Gun. If you think that she’s bothering you, could you just pretend that you both are strangers?” “We’re stranger. I don’t know her. How would I know if you didn’t tell me some details?” “Can’t you be more serious?” Grant asked. Gun sighed. “Am I not?” “Do you think we’re just playing, Gun?” Gun scoffed. “Aren’t we? Helios started this game, right? Hide and seek with a touch of finding Nemo—I mean escaping,” he mocked. Grant, who can’t hold his rage anymore, dragged Gun by his collar and pulled him closer to him. “If only I’d known that you would be the thorn of my mission. I shouldn’t have asked for your help!” he said through gritted teeth. Gun smirked. “Too late, brother,” he replied and let go of Grant’s grip. “This is my last warning, Gunner. Be nice to Zoe. She’s pregnant.” Lines were drawn into Zoe’s forehead when she heard those blabbers. She pulled down the blanket. “I wish to fight, get out of the place—” “Shut up!” The twins said in unison. Zoe’s eyes widened, and sit straight. “Did you two just yell at me?” Grant pressed his lips and sat beside her. “I am just giving warnings to Gun. I told him not to—” he didn’t finish his words when Zoe raised her right hand. “I don’t want to hear about it.” She sighed. “Where are we?” she asked. “Phil.” Zoe nodded and didn’t ask anything.
“We’re going to Helios’s vacation—” “Take me somewhere else. Where he can’t find my child or me,” Zoe uttered, firm and cold. Grant looked at Gun, and the latter nodded. “I don’t know much about the place, but Gun does. Do you trust him?” Grant asked suddenly. Zoe met Grant’s eyes and sighed. “Then I have no choice but to follow the jerk,” she replied, which made Gun frown. “I could fucking sense your sarcasm,” Gun blurted out. Zoe looked in Gun’s direction and arched her brow. “So?” Grant shook his head in disbelief. “Stop that. Let’s go. Don’t worry, Zoe. Aside from Helios, Gunner knew the place better than Helios—” “I stayed here for five years, idiot,” Gun interrupted. Grant raised his fist but stopped mid-air. “I want to live in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood,” Zoe said. Gun scoffed. “You want to leave in the mountain? Like over there?” he asked as he moved slightly downward and peeped at the window. He pointed to the tall mountains. Zoe rolled her eyes. “Are you mocking me?” Gun stood straight and put his hands inside his pockets. “Nope. I am just stating—” “Shut up!” Zoe moved and walked towards the door. Grant followed and assisted her. “Be careful,” Grant said. Zoe arched her brow but didn’t talk. Deep inside her, she was grateful that there were people that are willing to help her. Even if her tongue is getting itchy to know about the truth why Helios broke his promise… she doesn’t want to hurt her heart even more. As the doctor reminded her, she must not jive herself into stress. “The wife of Gun’s best friend is an Obstetrician. So, don’t worry about it,” Grant said. Zoe nodded. “How about the place that we’re staying?” “Gunner suggested that we leave in the city. He has a penthouse there. And he even suggested that you will find a job in case you get bored.” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Zoe frowned. “How about the expenses?” “Hel—I mean, it’s all settled. Don’t worry about it.” Zoe nodded. Is she ready to leave like this? This is not what she dreamed of being. This is not the life she wanted. She doesn’t want to let her child grow up in a messy world. However, she can’t undo things and can’t even hold fate. “Can I ask you a favor, Grant?” Grant’s brows furrowed. “What is it?” Zoe took a deep breath and sighed. She places her hand on her tummy. Even though his tummy was still small, she could feel the presence of her child. “Please, don’t let Helios come near me… near us until my child is born. I know it’s impossible that he will still look at us after his wedding. But just in case,” she said. She wanted to congratulate herself for not choking on tears when she told those. Grant doesn’t know what to answer. But he just nodded afterward. “Thank you,” Zoe uttered.
