What was he doing, going on a drunk rampage?

Millie pursed her lips and looked at him darkly, “This is my personal life. I have the right not to answer,

don’t I?”

She was about to push him away. However, he pressed her arm onto the wall, preventing her from. escaping

“Winston, if you continue doing this, I’m going to call the police!” Millle frowned, her tone firm.

“Alright, you can call the police.” He looked down at her. Something seemed to burn in his eyes.

He hadn’t done anything to Millie, not to mention they were still married. He wanted to see how the police would handle this.

Millie looked into his eyes. She felt extremely sad.

She knew he didn’t love her.

His continued questioning was only because she was canoodling with other men despite their divorce not being finalized. This fact overstepped his limits and trampled on his manly ego.

Millie sniffed. She glanced at Winston with a smile. She said calmly, “Right, I’ve fallen for Simon.”

Winston stiffened.

“If everything goes well, I’ll get together with him after our divorce is finalized.” She smiled and continued gently, “I have horrible taste in men, so my dad found him for me. I’m very satisfied with him.”

She spoke without realizing the anger surfacing in Winston’s eyes.

She said that her taste in men was horrible, and she made bad judgments of character. Wasn’t she implying that he was a horrible man?

“After we get divorced, you’ll marry Joanna, right? That’s good news.” Millie looked at him again.

When their eyes met, he saw her red–rimmed eyes

Winston didn’t know how sad she was saying these words.

She had to admit that she wasn’t as heartless as she thought she could be.

Millie had loved him for so many years. She couldn’t just stop loving him at the drop of a ball. She needed time to process it.

“We’ve been like a rubber band for three years. You ran toward Joanna uninhibitedly, and I tried to hold you back. However, I couldn’t hold you back, no matter how hard I tried. I hurt myself in the process Instead.”

Millie chuckled bitterly and continued, “After I let you go, I felt so much more relaxed.”

She looked up. He stepped aside so light fell on her face and illuminated her.

He saw the tears shimmering in her eyes.

Millie bit her lower lip and stared at the face she’d loved for so many years.

She raised her hand. She really wanted to touch him again and feel his warmth. © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

However, when she was about to touch him, Millie stopped herself.

He didn’t want her to touch him. He didn’t like….

Winston’s pupils contracted. As he looked at Millie’s frozen hand, he felt as though something was weighing down on his heart. He couldn’t breathe.

A tear slid down Millie’s face.

A voice in her head said, “Millie, stop making a fool of yourself.”

“Winston, stop seeking me out. Everything between us has been a mistake. Let’s end it here.”

She swore this would be the last time she cried for him. She would never do so ever again.

Millie pulled her hand back, but he held it firmly.

She swallowed the lump in her throat and looked at him stubbornly, “Winston, think of Joanna.”

This time, he didn’t tighten his grip on her.

Winston looked at her, taking two steps backward. Her stomach turned. She didn’t know whether it was a stomachache or heartache.

Millie looked at him and smiled bitterly.

Joanna was his bottom line. She would always be his bottom line.

She’d only taken two steps forward before she heard a loud bang behind her.

Following that, she heard someone shout, “Mr. Greer!”
