Chapter 8: Prepare for the meet.
Chapter 8: Prepare for the meet.
After taking a shower and changing into pajamas, Donna looked out of the window in bed for a while, then turned to ask him, "Your mother is coming. What exactly do I need to prepare for?"
She was really nervous.
"You figure it out yourself."
Paul said without lifting his head, focusing on the paper he was holding.
Then when he saw Donna's nervous expression, he said, "Okay, I'll get ready."
Donna wanted to say something else, "But..."
However, Paul concentrated on reading the documents and ignored Donna, so she flattened her mouth and turned over to sleep.
After falling asleep, she was still on tenterhooks.
Early the next morning, Donna drove to work and was stopped by Adam just as she got out of the car and walked to the entrance.
"Get out of my way."
Donna looked cold and wondered why this man was always haunting her.
Adam looked Donna up and down and sighed in disgust, "Why are you driving such a piece of shit car? How come the guy in the Bentley didn't give you a ride?"
"None of your business." Donna said coldly.
She and Paul had spent so much time together that unconsciously her expression was a little as intimidating as his, causing Adam to take an involuntary step back.
Realizing that he was afraid, Adam was even more annoyed.
He stretched out his arm in front of Donna and sneered, "Don't pretend to be lofty in front of me.You are just a bitch who sleeps with men because of money!"
Donna trembled with anger and looked bad, "You, you have gone too far!"
"Fuck! Women like you look innocent, but they're actually still sluts!"
Adam snickered, "You sue me for sexual harassment, I'll sue you for seducing me!"
Donna was so angry that she picked up her bag and smashed it at Adam, "Get away!"
Adam staggered back and dodged, and Donna angrily entered the group building.
Just now, she really wanted to strangle that damn scum.
Seeing Donna enter the elevator, Adam tidied up his clothes and snorted coldly.
Sooner or later, he will make Donna to take off her clothes and beg him one day! Thinking of this, Adam's expression became lewd. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
When Donna handed in the manuscript, it was already past noon.
Donna had just started the car and was about to leave when her cell phone in her pocket suddenly rang.
She started the car and put on a Bluetooth headset to answer the phone.
"Boris, what's up?"
Donna asked.
She hadn't been in touch with Boris since she was severely punished by Paul that day.
"Today is Jane's birthday, let's have dinner tonight."
Boris replied happily.
Donna pulled over and patted herself on the forehead.
She was thinking about choosing a birthday present for Jane before, but these days, she has been so uneasy about Paul's mother's coming that she completely forgot about buying a gift.
"Have you prepared a present?"
She asked, "Now that you've bought it, then can you go gift shopping with me this afternoon?"
After hanging up the phone, Donna turned the car around and headed for Times Square.
There were many shops there, so she should be able to find suitable gifts.
"What did you buy?"
Donna asked Boris as she entered the mall because she found it hard to choose a gift, "I gave her a brooch last year. What would be a good gift this year?"
Boris shook the gift box in his hand at Donna, "She always wanted Tiffany's blue bracelet. So I buy it for her."
"I originally wanted to buy this."
Donna looked sad and found it difficult to choose a gift.
If it weren't for Keeping a surprise, she really wanted to drag Jane out and let her choose what she wanted.
She was only responsible for paying the bill.
Boris saw her look distressed and smiled, "You still have time to stroll around the mall to find the right gift.’ They strolled around the mall until 4 pm before choosing a purple pearl necklace.
Holding the packed gift box, Donna was ready to leave contentedly when suddenly she saw something.
"This is our latest tie designed by the Parisian master."
The sales assistant positively introduced, "This tie is very suitable for business men."
Donna looked at the dark blue tie with dark stripes and imagined how Paul would look with it.
She felt very satisfied.
When she looked back, she met Boris’ snickering eyes and felt embarrassed.
She awkwardly said to the sales assistant, "I'll take it."
In general, Paul treated her pretty well.
It was reasonable for her to give him a tie as a gift, and she just bought it by the way.
Donna reassured herself in her mind.
