Chapter 3212 Infiltrating The Nest Of Vampires
Eugene IV shot Wolfric a glare and said, "What you're saying is that you wouldn't even be here if it wasn't because of the threat the vampires might pose to the local Ariaricans, correct?" "Think whatever you want." Wolfric shrugged.
The two had a heated argument, both standing by their own opinion.
Each nation's God of War, too, wanted to have their voices heard.
Some of them supported Wolfric's view, all ready to go along with the idea of homing in missiles on the vampire-occupied territory to end the vampire bloodline once and for all.
The vast majority of them, however, concurred with Eugene IV. Never would they consent to such an inhumane act. They would rather deal with the vampires the conventional way. In a sense, they hoped to exterminate the vampires and rescue the humans being held captive in the vampire-occupied territory at the same time.
Eventually, a couple of crisp knocks rang out when Nathan knocked lightly on the table, successfully garnering all attention to him.
The crowd turned to Nathan before coming back to their senses-it was Nathan's call to make as the commander-in-chief of the alliance.
As it was impossible for them to see eye to eye on the matter, the best way to resolve the conflict was to let Nathan draw the conclusion.
Then came Nathan's calm statement. "Pope Eugene is right. We're human, so we shouldn't be inhumane. The objective of our alliance has always been to annihilate dark clans in our endeavors to protect human rights and maintain peace and harmony in this world. The last thing we do is slaughter one of our own. In line with that, it's only fair to say that Admiral Welz's plan is inappropriate. No one should ever bring this up again."
Considering that the commander-in-chief had spoken, the rest of the members naturally obliged him.
As Wolfric saw that almost everyone had taken Nathan's side and only a few of them were sticking up for him, he did not have the gall to contradict Nathan, not with the measly followers he had.
All he could do was yield in displeasure. "Since you put it that way, Mr. Cross, we shall act in accordance with your decision."
Nathan parted his lips and voiced, "There has been a large-scale of apparent sudden movements in the vampire-occupied territory. Most probably, the vampires are trying to assemble themselves and come at us in one fell swoop. We must make all necessary preparations, especially our forces who've gotten the vampire-occupied territory surrounded. Be on your guard at all times."
The crowd could not agree more with that.
"Also, Angel Serum of Eurasia is in mass production as we speak. We'll be prioritizing the supply to Adrune ahead of another blood virus outbreak. Other things aside, we need to find out what exactly they're up to with their large-scale movements and the blood virus in the vampire-occupied territory," added Nathan.
It was then that Leopold piped up, "We've been monitoring the vampire-occupied territory round the clock with the satellites and drones from every nation. Unfortunately, the vampires are getting more and more clever. We couldn't secure much information as of late. To learn their true intention, we may have to send an elite team to infiltrate the vampire-occupied territory. I'm afraid only that can shed light on their master plan."
What? Did he just suggest forming a team of elites to infiltrate the vampire-occupied territory for investigation?
Everyone was utterly shocked to hear that. It was simply too dangerous of an initiation.
Word had it that around ten million vampires inhabited the vampire-occupied territory.
Among them were countless vampire elites and kings. More
importantly, the Patriarch, Herod, the so-called legendary, strongest being on earth, was said to be in the vampire-occupied territory as well.
Should anyone recklessly set foot in the vampire-occupied territory, it would be an understatement to say that they were putting their lives on the line.
However, Nathan, for one, found Leopold reasonable. From his perspective, there was no better strategy than personally sneaking into the vampire-occupied territory to unearth the vampires' true aim.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
He bobbed his head and uttered,
"Admiral Remington had a point there. Our information will be limited if we rely only on satellites and drones. We need to form an elite team and work undercover at the vampire-occupied territory so that we can get hold of the reason behind the vampires' sudden movements."
"That's easier said than done. Stepping into the vampire-occupied territory is such a dangerous thing to do. Who's going to take up the mission? You?" Wolfric's tone was as cold as the winter. Nathan glanced at Wolfric and responded with an unfazed mien, "All right, then. I'll be spearheading our cause. But, Wolfric, you'll be tagging along. Handpick twenty more elites to join us." Upon hearing that, Wolfric jumped in fright. He was merely disparaging Nathan. Little did he anticipate the latter to really walk the talk and even drag him into it.
Terror was written all over his face. To refuse Nathan was the first thought that came to his mind.
Receiving no feedback, Nathan regarded Wolfric with mockery as he teased, "What's wrong? You asked me to go, but you don't have the guts to join me?" The people around them began to shoot Wolfric strange looks.
Rage seethed within Wolfric the moment he caught a glimpse of Nathan's contemptuous visage. "Of course, I'll join you! As if I'm scared," he fumed.
On the spot, Nathan made the call
with a broad grin on his face. "It's settled. Wolfric and I will be leading the operation, and we'll be selecting twentymembers to go with us. It'd be best if we could see some volunteers."
Wolfric opened his mouth slightly at that. Sh*t! I can't believe I've walked right into this one!
He reckoned that he must be out of his mind to agree to enter the vampire-occupied territory with Nathan.
At that very juncture, he regretted his action so much that his countenance became as grim as death.
