No Mercy: Greedy Alpha Don't Deserve to Live! Novel by Song Zeroes

Chapter 15

He clenched his fists so tightly his knuckles turned white. “Balto was MY son! And you‘ II pay for every drop of blood you spilled.” His voice was a guttural growl, seething with the promise of vengeance. “Pray your soul rots in the abyss, Nayra. You’ll suffer for every ounce of pain you’ve caused!‘ Nayra’s bravado faltered. She gave a nervous laugh, but there was fear behind her eyes. “You don’t have the guts, Balthar.

Without warning, the alpha lunged. Nayra tried to fight back, slashing at him with the last of her power, her claws raking deep into his flesh. But it didn’t stop him. He overpowered her easily, pinning her to the ground as she struggled to break free.

“No, Balthar! You can‘ t-

The sickening sound of bone shattering filled the air as Balthar crushed Nayra‘ s skull with a savage blow. Her body fell limp in his grip, blood splattering across his already blood–soaked clothes. For a moment, the battlefield was eerily silent.

Balthar turned his gaze to me, his fury still burning bright, but now there was something else in his eyes–regret, shame, and the weight of what he’d just done.

“Elmyra, I was wrong. I should’ve realized it sooner. Please, forgive me. I made mistakes… I never meant for any of this to happen,” Balthar’s voice cracked, the weight of his regret palpable.

But his apology fell flat against the wall of my grief and fury. I met his gaze, my eyes cold, unforgiving. “Yeah, you SHOULD have known better,” I replied, my words dripping with sarcasm. “Balto was at YOUR house, Balthar. He wasn’t hiding, and neither was I. You would’ve seen him if you’d bothered to come home and actually be present–if you‘ d even cared enough to acknowledge what happened.” I shook my head slowly, my heart hardening even more. “Forgive you? You‘ re treating this far too lightly. My son died because of your neglect. This isn’t just some mistake you can brush off, Balthar.” Before he could respond, Caius stepped forward, a spear gripped tightly in his hand. His face was a mask of fury and grief.

“Just like you killed my mate,” Caius growled, his voice low and dangerous. “You‘ ve murdered my wife and I would never take this matter between you and me lightly.”

His eyes blazed with vengeance as he raised the spear. “I’ll settle this today, once and for all.” Without another word, Caius charged. Balthar dodged the first strike, anticipating Caius‘ s rage–fueled attack.

But Caius wasn’t aiming to hit–he was setting him up. In a swift, practiced movement, he spun and hurled the spear, the blade slicing through the air before it pierced the back of Balthar’s neck. Balthar crumpled to the ground, lifeless, blood pooling beneath him in a thick, dark puddle.

I stood there, unmoved. No shock, no regret. After learning what Balthar had done to Caius’s mate, knew his sins would catch up to him eventually.

Today, they finally did.

Months had passed since the war between Night Howl and Blue Moon.

With Night Howl territory were won with underhanded tactics, Caius contacted the pack that originally owned Night Howl’s land.

Some of them took back their land. Some of them decided to live under the protection of Caius, thus pronouncing him as the leader to the united packs of Blue Moon.

Caius and I found our dynamics in the previous work. He hired me to be one of his supervisor.

One day, our eyes met mine with an intensity that spoke volumes. As he took my hand, his touch was both tender and electrifying.

I felt a rush of emotion upon contact. Something had developed after the war, and it made my heart flutter upon seeing him. Knowing that my wolf was joyful with his presence around, I secretly assumed that fate had recourse our mateship fate—Caius and me found one another along the fate line.

“Elmyra,” he whispered in my ear as he snuggled on bed.

“You ready?” He asked, smirking now that I could see how my cheeks reddened.

I rolled my eyes and chuckled.

“With you? I will be ready all the way, Alpha,” I mumbled and held his face by the cheeks before our lips met in a kiss.
