Chapter 26
Even if the wound were to leave a scar on her forehead, Liam still thought Celena was the most beautiful woman in the world!
“Her wound has gotten infected by the wastewater, and if any other doctor tended to her, they would not have been able to stop the wound from scarring, but thankfully I’m the one treating her, so that won’t happen! Don’t worry, Sir!” Dr. Jensen declared confidently.
With that, Liam spent the entire afternoon sitting by Celena’s side. Eventually, as the sun began to set, she let out a groan and slowly opened her eyes. NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
The first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was the beautiful chandelier dangling from the ceiling above her. When she felt the warmth of Liam’s skin against hers, she turned and came face- to- face with him, staring straight at her. His eyes were etched with sorrow, guilt, and love. Finally, he let out a sigh and stroked his cheek gently with Celena’s hand. “Do you hate me, Celena? I’m the reason you fell from your throne as heiress of the Stone family and been rendered to nothing.”
Celena raised her arm weakly and caressed his cheek. “I don’t hate you, Liam. You and Jovie are the best things that could’ve ever happened to me. please don’t blame yourself for this. I love you, and I don’t regret anything that happened at all.”
“Don’t worry, Celena! I’ll get my revenge on everyone who’s ever
wronged you! No one will ever dare lay a finger on you or Jovie again. under my watch!” Liam said, clutching her hand in determination.
“Okay,” Celena nodded as tears streamed down her face.
All of a sudden, Albert knocked on the door. “Sir-I mean, Liam! There’s someone here to see you!”
Liam tucked Celena into bed and pressed a kiss onto her forehead
Get some rest. I’ll send someone over with food in a while!”
With that, he strode out of the room. The smile disappeared from his face as he shut the door behind him, “Who is it?”
“It’s Malcolm Lynch, the mayor of the city!”
“Take him to the back garden!” with that, Liam turned and strode toward the back garden himself.
Malcolm was led to the back garden not long after. However, before he could even step foot in there, he caught a whiff of blood. When he finally went into the threshold and saw Trent lying on the ground, he began to shake like a leaf.
Were his eyes deceiving him? This was none other than Trent Walker! What was he doing here? Trent’s father, Morgan, was one of the most powerful men in the entire Drunham City, so how dare Liam cross
him?
“Mr. Cole, this man is Morgan Walker’s father. Morgan Walker is one of the most influential men in the city and not one to be messed with. I’m afraid it’s not a good idea to keep his son here and torture him like this,” Malcolm said, gulping in fear as he glanced at the unconscious Trent on the ground.
Liam swept his steely gaze across Malcolm. “Are you trying to help
him?”
Malcolm’s heart leaped into his throat. Fearing that Liam would take this the wrong way, he quickly explained, “No, no, Mr. Cole, you’ve misinterpreted me. I’m just worried about what he and the rest of the Walkers would do to you if he finds out.
“Thank you for your concern, Mr. Lynch, but I’m not scared of the
Walkers! No one has ever defeated me!” Liam declared curtly, then
