Chapter 18
Chapter 18
Liam smirked in full confidence, as though he knew he could triumph over Jonas’s army as easily as squashing an ant. Jonas was a little puzzled by this. How could Liam still smile in the face of such adversity?
“Jonas, has no one ever taught you not to be too cocky? One day you’re going to pay the price for your arrogance! And this advice extends to the rest of your family too!” Liam snarled, his eyes ablaze with fury.
Jonas was infuriated by this. He let out a frustrated yowl and tossed his trench coat aside. “You must be stupid or have a dying wish! How do you think you’re going to match up against hundreds of my soldiers? Seize him! Whoever kills him first gets a reward from me!”
The men surrounding Liam all leaped forward in greed at the mention
of such a reward. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Liam did not even flinch as he watched three men wielding daggers charge toward him. Before they could even touch him, however, two silhouettes darted in front of Liam, and a powerful force flung the three men into the air. They landed with a thud right next to Jonas, the impact striking down a few other men in their wake too.
The two men who appeared out of thin air poised themselves next to Liam, braced for battle, their bloodthirsty eyes gazing out at the army before them hungrily.
All of Jonas’s hair stood on end the moment he saw these two men lize. Despite that, he still summoned all the strength he could t, “Seize them!”
n and Albert both sneered. The next second, Joseph sprung ne air and landed right in front of the wall of Jonas’s men. In a
blur, all the men fell to their knees, and some of them were even flung aside like sacks of potatoes before they could even realize what was happening.
Jonas was beginning to panic now at the sight of his men being defeated so easily. He never met such powerful fighters before! His men were all trained warriors, but even then they were so easily defeated like defenseless toddlers!
All of a sudden, he was blinded by a flash of light.
Before Jonas could even see what was going on, Joseph appeared behind him and was now holding a dagger against his neck. The
blade glinted dangerously under the light before slitting Jonas’s skin apart and drawing fresh, red blood.
Meanwhile, the men who shielded Jonas behind them were all reeling
on their knees, yowling in pain.
“You’d better hold still, or else your head will be what’s on the ground next!” Joseph said as calmly as though he were reporting the weather.
Jonas was now frozen in shock. Beads of sweat were rolling down his forehead. The coldness of the blade and the sting in his neck made him gulp. He did not dare to even make a move, but both his legs were now trembling with fear.
Liam sauntered toward him, and every footstep made Jonas feel like it was not Liam marching toward him, but the grim reaper himself.
Finally, Liam stopped in front of Jonas and said coldly, “Tell Morgan that Liam Cole is back and that I’ll stop at nothing until his son is dead. Meet me in seven days from now at Jade Manor!”
With that, Joseph tucked the dagger away and returned to Liam’s side. Jonas’s legs gave out beneath him, and he could barely hold up his weight. He watched helplessly as Liam and Joseph disappeared, taking Trent along with them.
Even after ten minutes had passed, Jonas was still frozen in sheer shock. He could not believe how powerful Liam had become, and who were the two men with him?
As much as he hated to admit it, Jonas knew the Walkers were now fighting a lost battle.
