Chapter 13 Confession closet
Jessica
He was spot on, he whispered and asked the exact question. It was as if he knows that the dream was a fail, that I spent the whole morning hangover from the abrupt feeling of I don’t even know what.
I know sex is supposed to end with a climax, but I have never actually felt what it’s like. And I’ve been avoiding to date simply because of the fear itself. Troy had left his mark, I don’t even know how I was supposed to recover from his doing.
The therapy was supposed to work, I kept telling Amanda that I was getting better. But honestly, I was too afraid to try, always telling her that I was too busy to work to date men.
“Jessica, good you’re home. You have to come with me to a gala tonight, I lost a bet and I need to attend Dale’s mom’s thing tonight.”
Amanda called me just after five and asked my whereabouts. I have just woken up from my nap, thanking myself that I didn’t dream a certain man and woke up feeling refresh.
“What gala? why aren’t you going with Dale? and why don’t you go with one of your trustee sidekicks?”
“Jess, my friends don’t do galas their husbands reputations preceded them and I don’t want to make Dale’s mom hate me even more. And since I’m pregnant I need you to drink the alcohol for me and be my drunk friend.”
I giggled at her while she still insisted that she was on her way to my place with a dress, she said that I would be her wing woman and that she would owe me.
Though remembering what she had done for me since Troy, going to the gala was the least that I can do for her.
“Okay, I’ll make a fresh batch of coffee and take a quick shower.”
Amanda is a true coffee addict and there was no denying that she might marry Dale for his coffee shop, caffeine might runs through her veins by now.
“I knew there’s a reason why I love you so much.” She laughed from the other line before she ended the call.
One hour and one cup of coffee later we were on our way to the gala. Dale had arranged a car for his wife and me, I was feeling a bit exposed with the high-slit dress that Amanda brought me.
“Come on, you look great in it, it’s Prada. You can’t go wrong with their evening wear.” She tucked my hair back and let it fall to my naked shoulder.
“Amanda, darling you looked beautiful. Oh my, who’s this?”
“Mom, this is Jessica Robinson, I’m sorry Dale couldn’t make it tonight,”
“What do you mean? you’re pregnant she should accompany you everywhere. Wait, you’re the Jessica Robinson?”
I didn’t know what she was implying, but I just smile at her while she took me in for a greeting with a simple peck on the cheek, and hugged Amanda telling her to give her regards to Dale.
“Larry has been talking about you, you’ll find him surrounded by the ladies, he’ll be happy to see you.”
I smile knowing Larry was at the gala, at least it won’t be that boring. I just hope that his brother…
Damn it.
The curse was inevitable when I saw Tyler talking to a tall beautiful woman, her hands circled to his arm, she looked just like a model. They both looked like a perfect couple.
“Well… well, seemed like we found Tyler rather than Larry. Jessica honey, nice meeting you. Why don’t you go ahead talk to Tyler, I actually need to find my husband.”
Mrs. Richardson pecked my cheeks again and tell Amanda to keep me company.
“I think she likes you, so… do you want to talk to Tyler or talk to the bartender first?” Amanda whispered while tugging my hand, she was already nudging me to go to the bar area. I laughed and follow her though I would still gaze back and peek at Tyler, trying to take a look at his date.
“Me? she said you’re her favorite daughter-in-law.”
“Pfft, of course, she did, I’m her only daughter-in-law.”
I laughed again and was to her side trying to get to the bar and as far away from Tyler and his date. I have established the fact that I don’t like seeing him with the modelesque beauty.
Amanda pulled me through the sea of people, we were mingling away, up until we reached the bar and finally met Larry.
“Jess, hello… I didn’t expect to see you here.”
“Larry, hey… me too, thanks to Dale I guess.” I grinned while Amanda was biting her lip as if she was having a hard time choosing my drink for that night.
“Well, come on what do you want to order? I don’t know if we can bail sooner, but just in case we can’t, you need alcohol for the boredom.”
Amanda’s words quickly took me back to our conversation when my eyes were searching for Tyler and his date. Again.
Damn it, eyes. Focus.

Amanda. Larry. Liquor. Good.
“Yeah, sorry…”
Two Martinis and two glasses of virgin mocktail later we were laughing at Larry’s jokes as they became more and more ludicrous, and that’s when Tyler greeted me.
“Ms. Robinson, you look beautiful, Amanda I hope that’s a mocktail?”
The woman nodded and back to sipping her drink while looking interested in me.
“And looked who turns into Cinderella for one night. Where’s your other half?” I turned to face him, I was expecting to see her beautiful model latching onto his arm but he was alone and looking so freakishly handsome with his designer tuxedo and shiny shoes.
Amanda almost choked on her drink hearing my snappy words, while Larry laughed and whispered something in her ear.
“… are you feeling better tonight?” he ignored my question and ask me instead.
His deep manly voice made my inside hummed secretly.
“I’m better.”
Tyler smirked as I gave him a once over, his mouth opens when he drinks the golden liquid and my mind went straight to the gutter.
“I had a long nap,” I said quickly not letting my mind wander and strip him naked in my mind.
What the hell, Jess!
“Dreamless one, I hope.”
I squinted my eye and channel my hateful face until Amanda said that we should go to our seats since everyone else has. She was looking at me then Tyler with a raised eyebrow, while I was feeling tingly on the inside, and the strange fever started bubbling from the inside.
Larry was back to telling more jokes to Amanda who laughed while he ushered her to the table. I was about to follow them when Tyler grabbed my arm and pulled me away from them.
“Where are we going? we should take our seat and…”
We were hidden by an alcove behind the bar area when he lowered himself down and put his lips on mine. His hand was warm to my back while his other one was to the back of my head holding me possessively while his body shields us from any lurkers.
I was holding onto his body, my hand instinctively slithered to his back pulling him closer to me while my back was flat to the cold wall. He groaned when my other hand caresses the back of his neck and take him lower as I kissed him back eagerly.
We parted for air, look at each other intensely and within seconds he took my hand and shielded me while he ushered me to an empty room, more like a closet space where we resumed our kiss.
There was no talking, we were kissing again when he whispered in his sexy voice and seductively asked me while licking the crook of my neck.
“Your dream, tell me about it?”
“Tyler, I…”
“It’s just us, I need to know, please…”
The darkness was enticing, his closeness was intoxicating and I decided to tell him just because I want to.
“You were kissing me,” I breathed out the words.
“Hmm… go on,”
He was kissing the crook of my neck, his hand travels down to the slit of my dress and his big strong hand touch my naked thigh.
“Down there,”
“Fuck, Jess… so, how was I?”
His manly cologne invades my senses and I was opening my mouth for his kiss before we paused and waited for my answer.
“Good, so good…” I know I was wet from his kisses, and I moan when I feel his hand on my inner thigh and subtly touches my wet lace panties.
“We should stop, we… not here, you’re better than this.”
His abrupt move made me embarrassed for telling him about my dream. And at that moment I regret telling him about it.
“I should go,”
“No, we should go.” He cupped my face and took me closer for his deep sinful kiss.
“We will stay for dinner then I will take you back to your apartment.”
“Your date?”
“She’s not my date.” He rubbed my back as he kisses me again. The feeling was indescribable, butterflies, that’s how I know how people felt in the movies.
We made a quick stop to the ladies and he waited before escorting me back to our table where Amanda’s face lights up like a lightbulb, no she’s more like a lighthouse when she saw me and Tyler and we took our seat at their table.
Larry smiled warmly as he patted Amanda’s hand then whispered something in her ear making her drink the water to her front and start eating her appetizer.
“Eat,” his hand was under the table caressing my naked thigh. I looked behind and relaxed when I saw nothing behind us, our table was at the very back and we were sheltered with beautiful decorations that no one could see his hand was creeping dangerously under the table.
“I’m not going to do anything uncomfortable that you don’t want me to do, just say the words and I will stop.”
Fuck…
I was looking into his eyes when he backed away after he whispered the words. His innocent smile was promising something else and I was tempted, and couldn’t help myself when I nod and smile back at him.
