Chapter 1949
Chapter 1949
Chapter 1949 Liam ignored her.
This made her more irritable. "It's all you guys’ fault! If one of you or Flinty would take up the family business, Dad wouldn't have thrown it on my lap!"Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Liam expressed without interest, "It's not like you have anything going on anyway." He said it without any inflection in his voice.
Isabel exploded, "What do you mean | have nothing going on?! Do you have any idea how busy | am?! | have a lot of films to shoot!"
She raised her voice by several pitches, and it sounded like she was going to throw herself on Liam.
Caprice was alarmed and immediately threw the door open. She noticed Isabel who seemed like she was about to pounce on Liam's desk and cried out, Isabel, don't be angry! Uncle Carter probably let you take over because he trusts that you can handle it.”
Isabel flipped a look at her. The infuriated expression on her face immediately vanished it. What took its place was a gentle and doting smile.
"Caprice?" she said with a spring in her voice before darting a look at Liam. "How long have you been hiding Caprice in your office?"
Caprice winced. "I... | accidentally fell asleep after lunch." Liam must have carried her into the bedroom.
Isabel chuckled. "No need to explain. | understand." Caprice sighed weakly.
Something suddenly occurred to Isabel, and a flash crossed her eyes. "Caprice, have you started your new semester yet?" she asked suddenly.
Liam seemed alarmed by this as well, so he asked warily, "Isabel, what are you up to?”
"Caprice is basically my sister. What did you think | was going to do to her?" Isabel snapped back grumpily, then she turned back to Caprice with an affectionate smile.
Caprice answered her question, 'The semester starts next week."
"Does that mean you're free this weekend?"
Caprice considered briefly, "I think so."
"Perfect! I'll take you somewhere fun this Sunday evening."
“Where are were going?" Caprice asked suspiciously.
Isabel went up to her and threw her arms around her shoulders. "You'll see." Caprice looked at Liam.
There was not a trace of emotion on his face, but he must be aware of what sort of place Isabel planned to take her to. Surely, he would object if it was some questionable place. Since he was not objecting, it should be fine.
Isabel turned to Liam again and assured her, "Don't worry. I'll take good care of Caprice for you."
Liam ignored her and turned to Caprice. 'There's something | need to deal with that night, so | can't spend time with you. If you don't have anything to do, feel free to join Isabel."
Caprice nodded affirmatively.
She figured that it should be fine to hang out with Isabel. After all, they had not spent time together for a while.
Isabel hung around for a little longer before leaving.
Caprice stuck around. She was sprawled out on the couch with a book that she was hardly reading; it was only a facade so that she could stare at Liam without him noticing.
After he was finished with work, the two went out for dinner. They loitered around a scenic area for a while until it was midnight. Then, they took Liam’s car back to Sparkrow University.
The car stopped outside the gate of the dormitory. Caprice pecked a gentle kiss on Liam's face. "Bye-bye." With that, she opened the door and hopped out.
Liam smiled faintly and stared at her departing figure. After ensuring that she was inside the dormitory, he turned to the driver. "Let's go."
Three days later, on Sunday, Caprice got a call from Isabel around noon.
Isabel told her that she was already waiting outside, so Caprice walked out of the dormitory immediately. The moment Isabel noticed her, she lowered the car window and waved excitedly. "Over here, Caprice!" Since he was a famous actress, several passersby heard her cry and immediately turned to gawk at her.
Meanwhile, Caprice quickly sprinted toward the car.
