Chapter 26
“Maybe I wanted you more than that.” He murmured. I could barely hear what he said but I managed to.
I scoffed in a sarcastic manner. “Oh you do because I really don’t feel your intention.” I teased but my heart was beating so fast.
“I always wanted a family of my own you know.” My head tilted to the side as I listened to him. “Growing up with people who value families, I wanted to have that too. Maybe I wanted it with you. I mean the way you sway your ass in the kitchen like my adorable wife.”
I laugh. “Oh mon dieu. You’re such a pervert.”
He smirked mischievously. The one he always showed me before. “Did you know you cried perfect French when I was pummeling you?”
I glared at him while he laughed. “You really are a pervert.”
He then reached my face and his other hand resting on my neck, he pulled me towards him with a heavy passionate kiss. I returned his eagerness until our tongue collided and fought for dominance.
He pulled away suddenly. I was still in a daze as I looked at him. I was surprised because he was scowling. “Those babies are mine, right?”
It was my turn to laugh. “Who knows?”
He then pounced on me with a sexual intent. He hovered over me while attacking me with hungry kisses and possessive touches. I guess this time, I finally gave in to him. I was willing to spread my legs for him as he liked to put it.
After the second time, Dante held himself back for another since he still wanted to discuss our remaining issues and I highly appreciated this part of him. A guy who listens and who’s willing to talk about our issues, is honestly admirable. Also I find it very pleasant to watch him groveling for me. After all the shit he put me through back then, he honestly deserved it. And the fact that he really wanted to fix things between us.
Maybe right after the amazing sex he desired so much.

“What does he think about Ethan then?” Amy asked in the midst of choosing dresses for her to buy.
It was mid-morning when Amy asked me out for shopping and a lunch date. I agreed and since I was no longer Dante’s so called prisoner, I went out, not asking his permission.
I asked one of his men to drive to our meeting place. I’m sure the guy will happily report to Dante where I’m going.
“I don’t really know.” I shrugged. I tried to remember how Dante reacts whenever I talked about Ethan. He seemed to be nonchalant at first. I mean come on, how could he be insecure or jealous of a dead person.
I admit I loved Ethan. I really did. He was my hero, my other half. He was just so perfect for me but I couldn’t keep on lingering about memories of a person who’s no longer here. I had to move on. The time with Dante, as much as I want to deny, actually helped. He was a pervert and he really got on my nerves, still actually, but it stole my attention, helping me cope up with the wound in my heart.
Because of him, it was slowly becoming a scar.
When he left, the anger and frustration I felt, I redirected it to writing. I did promise Ethan’s editor that I’d continue the story and I was able to do so. A few weeks later, days before Dante arrived back, I stopped since I haven’t been feeling well. I should have expected the guy was making sure to impregnate me.
I was furious when I found out. I was okay being pregnant but I was not okay that it was him. It could have been any man. It could have been Chase with our one night stand. No. It had to be someone who holds the highest rank in the mafia world. I think my heart skipped when he said he’d quit.
Someone who’ll do anything for you to that extent. Zut. How can I refuse him?
Amy raised a brow questioningly. “It’s good that you haven’t thought of him or even talk about him.” She smiled. “That just means you’re surely healing. We’ll never know. The guy’s going to be your future husband.” She teased while bumping her shoulder with mine.
Shit. We haven’t talked about our wedding. I haven’t told Amy I’m pregnant, too.
“What’s with that look?” While assessing my surprised look.
“I’m just hungry.” I willed myself to relax. What will she think when I tell her about the state I’m in? What will she think when I don’t tell her anything? Amy has always been concerned about me so this will surely be a big deal for her.
“Oh, then let’s go have our lunch then. There’s a restaurant a few blocks who had the best food and services. Come on.” She hooked her arm around mine as we started walking.
“Also, you need to eat like really big meals. You’ve thinned and paled too. You haven’t been taking care of yourself, have you? Is mister Drop Dead Gorgeous not taking care of you?” She asked both with concern and tease.
I shook my head and smiled at her nonstop interrogation. “He really just came back, Amy, and I haven’t been feeling well lately.”
“Why? Are you pregnant?” She laughs, amused at her own joke. I just smiled quietly because she’ll be up for a huge shock when I tell her that I’m actually pregnant. I plan to spill the beans when we finally take our seat in the restaurant. I set up a perfect time when she’ll drink water and do a spit take when I blurted out my pregnancy.
The restaurant was not that busy when we arrived. There were a few customers and it benefited me because I’m never good with crowded places. Much more now that I’m carrying two human beings inside me, I easily feel nauseous.
Amy chose the seat near the glass wall where the outside could still be visible. A lot of people passed by and I enjoyed the view of the outside. We ordered food first and gathered myself some courage to what I’m about to say to her. She will surely freak out about the news that I got pregnant with the guy whom she thought that I have a one night stand with but actually it’s far from that.
Maybe I’ll just skip the part where I had been living with Dante before and he was not just a friend.
As soon as I found the courage, I literally opened my mouth to say it but I froze when I noticed two people who were on their way to out of the restaurant. This restaurant.
I was shocked to see Dante with a woman. From this far, I could still see the woman’s beauty and she was hot with her tight business outfit, wearing a pencil skirt that was pretty tight in her thighs and ass.
Of course. A player is always a player. Why should I be different in his eyes, right?
“Ugh, Hailynn. You okay? You just zoned out there. You wanted to tell me something.” Amy pulled me out of my trance.
I was beyond furious but I held it in. I don’t want Amy to worry. It will be a long story if I have to explain.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Yeah… Sorry, Amy. I forgot what I had to tell you. I was trying to remember it.”
