Chapter-58: I want my mate
"Are you kidding me?" Allison almost shouted at Mason who gave her a serious look.
"Wait...so the mate she rejected was... you!" She muttered under her breath, recalling her conversation with Rebecca.
"Indeed! I reckon that you have met her already. I don't know how she will react when she comes to know about you being King's mate. Even, I was shocked for a moment when I heard him calling you his mate." Mason sighed, raking his hand on his face.
"She already knows!" Allison looked at him and pursed her lips, finally understanding why Rebecca didn't like her at first. Her talks spoke volumes of how much she fancied Lyceon but criticized Allison for getting into the picture abruptly. Mason frowned at her in surprise. She knew! Allison sighed and held her head when it started aching badly. "This is getting messier!" she groaned.
"Hey! Don't exert your mind with something which is not in your control." Mason touched her head softly and nodded looking down.
"She might know because they have been good friends since childhood." he cleared his own confusion.
"Mason, you could have still called me?" Allison changed the topic back to their previous conversation.
"I know, I could have but then our news of surviving would have spread like a fire in the Moon Crescent pack and Alpha wouldn't stay still knowing that we might come back and reveal his cunning planning to the pack." Mason said. "He would have manipulated others and might have banished us or worse killed us. And I didn't want him to hurt you in any way, Ali. So I thought to stay silent for a time being, planning something to get you out of there. But then I got news that the King had brought a girl from our pack. I was curious as to why He would do that. Never had He done this kind of thing in his life ever as others said. He doesn't do relationships or keep mistresses. Before I could dig about you more, the King sent orders for us to come back from the training and I got to know the reason only then."
Mason sighed, recalling his dread when he heard that King went to kill the Alpha Ralph and his pack but instead He brought a girl with him sparing everyone else.
"You were his Mate that's why He brought you here. And I'm thankful that He did that because that's what I wanted. I didn't want you to stay in that pack because of whom we lost our father and best warriors. The greedy Alpha doesn't care about his people but himself." Allison nodded.
"But, what now? Will you reveal Alpha Ralph? Apparently he and the pack hate me for being the reason for their future Alpha's death. They might criticise you too!" Allison said, sighing.
"I don't care who the fuck thinks what about me, Allison. I want to avenge my father's death. It's good that the Blue Moon pack is no more and their Alpha is dead but now Alpha Ralph needs to die too." Mason snarled and Allison bit her lip seeing him getting enraged.
She hugged him from the side to calm his anger and murmured. "I don't want to lose you, Mason. You are my only family left. Please just...let's get out of here. I.. I don't want to live here. I am scared!" Her pent-up emotions emerged as she was in a dilemma to take any decision.
Her life had turned upside down with a single fact. And she couldn't decide what she wanted now.
Mason wrapped his arm around her shoulder and kissed her crown. He composed himself a bit seeing her condition. She was drained, physically and mentally too. Not to mention that, the enemies had set their eyes on her now. He saw that already while fighting those vampires who came with the purpose to kidnap her.
"I won't give up on my mate, Ali!" He announced. Allison peeked at him through her thick lashes. Her brother had always been determined, fearless and a risk taker. If he intends to do something, he would put his everything into that. She knew he wouldn't let his mate go just like that. "Good!"
"And you should also try to talk to your mate and resolve it. Obviously, He would never get you off the hook. Lycans are dangerously possessive about their mates, Ali. Don't provoke him." He suggested to which Allison shook her head. "But I don't want to stay here, let alone talk to him. This place and people around me suffocate me. I never asked for a mate like him. I don't want him...."
"And who gives you the permission to decide if you want to stay here or not!" A strong yet husky voice turned their heads towards him. Allison captured her brother's hand seeing Lyceon walking toward them with a straight face. Mason stood up pulling Allison on her feet. "King!"
"Mason, I want to talk to my Mate. Leave us!" He ordered him, keeping his hard gaze on Allison. Mason hesitantly looked at her.
"I won't hurt my Mate if you are thinking something like that!" Lyceon let out, his patience was running on a thin line. He was disturbed listening to Allison's statement and He wanted to figure out the problem. Mason cleared his throat and obliged but he gave a comforting nod to his sister before walking out of the room.
Allison shifted her weight uneasily from one foot to another, trying not to look at his dominating presence.
"Mason is the warrior of Dark Walkers now. So he will reside here and if you want to leave, then...." He stepped near her, walking her backward. Allison let out a shaking breath and kept walking backward until her back hit the wall. Lyceon caged her in between his body and the wall. He placed his hands behind her head on the wall. His face was stiff with a frigid gaze. "Tell me honestly, Angel? Do you really want to leave? To leave Me?"
