Chapter 5
Chapter 5
"Wake up you little sleepy bird." Alex's voice rang in my ears.
I opened my eyes slowly, only to be met with Alex's beautiful green eyes only inches from my face, but I was still sleepy so I didn't think a lot about the closeness.
"Good morning." I yawned, putting my hand over my mouth. I wouldn't gross him. Yes, I am sleepy. But my mind is still working.
Alex chuckled. "Good morning. Come on, we have class." He stood up, going to his desk. He was already dressed and obviously showered too from his cleanliness and messy wet hair.
"Why didn't you wake me earlier? I still need to go shower, meaning I won't be able to catch up with you." I pouted. Which made Alex laugh as he sat down on his bed.
"Don't worry, I will wait till you finish." Alex smiled.
I nodded, smiling back. I quickly stood up and went to my dresser to pull some clothes.
"I won't be late!" I called as I closed the door behind me, my towel, hair brush and clothes in hand.
"Take your time!" Alex called back just as the door closed.
I quickly went to the shower and was ready after ten minutes.
I went back to the room, fresh and ready for the day.
"Let's go?" I asked once the door was closed behind me.
Alex, who was lying on bed with his phone in hand as he was scrolling through it, looked up.
"You didn't take that much like most girls do." He said, smiling.
"I took ten minutes, isn't it a lot?" I asked as I put my pajamas in my dresser and grabbed my black shoes and was putting it on.
"Girls take half an hour to get ready." Alex rolled his eyes.
"Yeah," I laughed, and he only chuckled as he stared at me.
"Let's go." I said, grabbing my bag and turning to look at Alex.
He smiled, nodding. And then we were on our way.
The day went on; I had most of my classes with Alex. We spent a lot of time together, talking and laughing. I just enjoyed talking to him.
Now we were on our way back to the room. And we were laughing our asses off for a stupid joke I don't even remember what it was.
Suddenly my phone ringing brought me back from my laughing session.
I got my phone out of my pocket, still laughing. It was an unknown number.
"I will get that later." I waved my phone in front of Alex, chuckling.
"No, no. You can get it." Alex said, still chuckling.
I nodded, smiling.
I put my phone on my ear as I answered it. "Hello?"
"Jasmine?" Kelvin's voice sounded from the other side.
"Kelvin, hey! How are you?" I asked as I continued walking with Alex. Who had his expression changed in the last couple of seconds.
"I am great! I was just wondering when your shift starts."
"At five, in two hours from now." I replied.
"My shift starts then too. Go together to the coffee shop?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure. Meet you in front of the dorm, okay?"
"Yeah, sounds great. See you then. Bye."
"Bye."
I looked at Alex beside me who was staring ahead with a tight expression.
"You okay?" I asked, slightly worried.
"Was that the guy from yesterday?" He instead asked.
"Um, yeah. That was Kelvin." Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
"Are you meeting him?"
"Yeah, we work together. So we are going together."
"You work together?" Alex's eyes seemed to darken more as he stared at me.
"Um... Yeah. In the coffee shop."
Alex took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a second then opening them.
"I need to go."
"What?" I felt dump founded as I asked.
"I have practice. Bye, Jasmine." And with that he walked away.
I stared at him as he walked away.
"Bye." I said, as I was still staring. But he had already left so he didn't hear me.
What had I done wrong?
"You ready?" Kelvin smiled.
I had spent the two hours alone, either listening to music or studying. It was quite boring. But I survived.
I really didn't understand what was up with Alex. he only explanation was that he was jealous, but that was impossible.
Now it was time to go to work.
I smiled at Kelvin, "Yeah, let's go."
And with that we took off to his car.
The ride was silent. Neither of us said a word. It was somehow tense, I don't know why.
But I knew once we were out of the car.
"Will you go out with me?"
I turned and looked at him, surprised.
"What?"
"I just... like you. I realized that when we kissed last night. That's what I want to take you out. I want to know more about you." Kelvin stared at me.
"So what do you say?" He asked, scratching the back of his head.
I stared at him for a second then I nodded, smiling. "Yes. I would love that."
He smiled back. "This Friday at eight."
I nodded, smiling.
And with that we went in.
The coffee shop was empty of costumers.
Harry and Sandra stood there beside the Espresso, while Veronica and Jack stood there beside one of the tables. All of them talking and laughing.
"Hey, Jess. Hey Kelvin." They greeted.
"Hey, Jessy, Kelvin." Louise greeted as he went out of his office.
"Hey, Louise. Hey guys." I and Kelvin smiled, going in the staff room.
And just like that, the day went by. Costumer after costumer coming and going. I and the guys talked here and there.
And I learned that Harry and Sandra is a thing. Just like Veronica and Jack are. They kept saying that since I came with Kelvin then here's something going on. They kept teasing. And oh, they know about my date with Kelvin this Friday, which increased the teasing.
At the end of the day at ten thirty, Kelvin gives me a ride. This time we talked and laughed.
I went in my room, hopping that maybe I will see Alex. But my hopes got the best of me.
I could tell that I didn't see him that night and the morning after. But when I saw him, I wished I never did.
