Chapter 9
The phone rang continuously, Nancy quickly reached into her bag to rummage. She was in such a hurry that she dropped the stack of documents Lyle gave her to the ground, just as the wind blew and blew them up, scattering them everywhere.
Looking ahead and looking back, she saw that the street was deserted, so she quickly rushed out to pick them up.
Suddenly a light flashed, and when she raised her head, the car was too close, she could only hear a man screaming.
Next was the feeling of being wrapped in a warm embrace, the hug was so tight that it made it difficult for her to breathe.
Gradually regaining composure, she slightly moved her feet and looked up.
Seeing in front of her was a tall man wearing a suit, eyes as deep as the bottom of an abyss, she quickly pushed him away, her voice still trembling.
“Thank… thank you.”
Dylan’s eyes did not leave Nancy’s face, his hands still held tightly and did not let go.
On the other side of the street, the last bus had just passed by, and the sound of the turn signal made her suddenly wake up and turn around.
Paul rushed forward, his face pale because he thought he was about to lose his refuge.
Just as he was about to open his mouth to ask, he saw Dylan’s eyes so he remained silent.
“Is that the last bus of the day?” Dylan asked.
Nancy nodded slightly. Dylan immediately took her hand and led her across the street, pushing her into the car.
“Tell me the address, and we will take you home.” Dylan spoke seriously.
“Don’t bother, I’ll take a taxi.”
“Address?”
“Huh? Ah. No. 277, Street X.”
She didn’t understand why she suddenly revealed her whereabouts to strangers like that.
This man’s tone seemed very powerful, somewhat similar to Nathan’s, but Nathan had always spoken to her gently and slowly.
It was late, Nancy closed the computer and walked out to the balcony. The night wind blew past, making her feel cool.
This house belongs to a kind girl. Because she had to move back to her hometown to take care of her sick mother, Nancy rented it.
Remembering what happened in the afternoon, Nancy still felt a bit scared. She felt that the earth was round, she met the man who shared her umbrella again and she was saved by him.
The moment she was in that person’s arms, she seemed to feel something very familiar.
She started to miss Nathan. Many years passed, and she counted each cold winter wind, that image was far away, no longer hoped to meet again. She didn’t know if he still remembered or if he had forgotten.
The night gradually disappears, and morning approaches. The morning dew drops on the rose petals gently broke in half, and the scent of smoke from the coffee cup made Dylan feel so relieved.
After all this time, he was finally able to see Nancy again, hold her in his arms, and take her home.
Dylan was relaxing with soft music when the phone on the table vibrated slightly, and Stephen’s name appeared on the screen.
“What’s up?” Dylan asked.
“Do you want to drink coffee?” Stephen asked back.
“I’m drinking coffee at home.”
“The president is stingy. If you drink coffee at home, who will the coffee shop sell it to?”
“For you.”
After listening, Stephen immediately hung up. He can’t turn himself into an autistic person like Dylan, so he’s determined to find a girlfriend this winter.
After finishing his cup of tea, he leisurely drove to the hair salon. When the hair salon owner saw Stephen, he felt like he had found gold. He smiled softly and his eyes narrowed.
If there wasn’t a good barber here, even if someone gave him more money he wouldn’t come because this place is quite far.
The hair salon is a bit shabby but very clean. Besides, he’s gotten used to it and has habits he doesn’t want to give up.
As soon as the barber finished cutting Stephen’s hair, he walked out and saw the haughty employee he met yesterday, so he quickly followed, leaving the car in front of the hair salon.
Looking at the girl carrying many bags but walking, he guessed her house was probably nearby.
In Nancy’s hands, there were boxes used to store documents and food recently purchased from the supermarket.
After walking a while, she felt like someone was following her, so she walked quickly.
Stephen saw her suddenly speed up so he quickly followed. When he reached the alley, he lost sight of her.
As he looked back and forth, he suddenly heard a pop right in the middle of his face. He felt as if a meteorite had fallen, so he quickly covered his face with his hands and screamed.
“Deputy General Manager.” Nancy was scared and stuttered. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Stephen opened his eyes to look at the girl. If it were anyone else, he would beat her up, but she was the muse in his heart so he couldn’t take action.
“You’re bleeding.” Nancy’s voice trembled.
“Nancy, are you a member of an evil cult? Why do you act so cruelly?”
“I’m sorry.”
Seeing Nancy showing remorse, Stephen immediately took the opportunity and demanded compensation from her. Finally, Nancy had to take him home.
Although the wound was small, Stephen’s nose was swollen and looked like a clown.
She gently wiped away the blood and then applied medicine to him. He feigned pain and groaned. At such a close distance, he saw her eyes were sad.
“It’s done, it will probably take a few days for the swelling to go away.” Nancy pretended to regret it.
“What should I do? I am the face of Global Group, I have many appointments next week. How much do you hate me to act so harshly?” Stephen spoke up.
“No, I didn’t know it was you, I thought some pervert was following me, so…” She tried to explain.
“So… now you’re letting that pervert into your house.”
“Can you leave yet?”
“Not yet. I have to get some compensation, I haven’t eaten anything this morning.”
