Love At The Wrong Table

Love at the 1991

Stella watched the scene unfold, and a sense of déjà vu crept over her.

Declan had been her last hope for revenge. If even he couldn’t deal with

Emmanuel, she had no other options left. Who on earth is this man? And what

is that badge with five gleaming stars? It’s clear it holds a lot of significance.

Yet, despite the sinking feeling in her chest, Stella wasn’t one to let it go.

Clenching her teeth, she demanded, “Mr. Gray, what’s wrong with you? Help

me get my revenge!”

“Stella, it’s not that I don’t want to help you, but this man’s connections run far

deeper than you can imagine!”

As the commander of the Silver Fox Military, Declan had fought his way up

through the ranks with grit and guts.

If it had been anyone else, they might have already fallen to their knees,

begging for mercy in front of Emmanuel

He had the courage to face anyone. But courage alone couldn’t guarantee

victory.

The Silver Fox Military was no match for the Wolf Warrior Unit. The Wolf Warrior

Unit were the sharpest blade of the nation, undefeated, and had triumphed

against forces ten times their size.

Picking a fight with them was practically suicide.

“Stop beating around the bush, Mr. Gray! Who exactly is he?”

Stella couldn’t rest until she had the answer, her pride demanding she

uncover Emmanuel’s true identity.

Hugbert, who had just managed to stagger back to his feet, knew these

people had to have serious connections to be this bold. He waited in

suspense for his father to reveal the truth.

“He’s none other than the legendary Northern Region War God, the invincible

hero who earned countless accolades for our country’s glory! He’s Wolf

Warrior!”

“What? W–Wolf Warrior?! Is this the Wolf Warrior Unit? N–No wonder…”

Hugbert was so shocked that he could barely get the words out.

Stella felt like she had been struck by lightning. Even as a woman, she had

heard the legendary tales of t

Wolf Warrior.

The Wolf Warrior Unit was said to be unstoppable. They had fought in

hundreds of battles, losing only once. Entire nations would retreat at the mere

mention of their name.

Some countries even had a standing order–retreat without fighting if they

encountered the Wolf Warrior Unit on the battlefield, and it wouldn’t be

considered defeat. That’s how terrifying their reputation was.

“Mr. Gray!”

Stella, her pride wounded and still unable to swallow her resentment, fixed her eyes on him with a sinister suggestion. “I’ve heard that the Chairman of

the Chamber of Commerce has been wanting to eliminate this man for

ages! Tonight, he’s practically walked into your hands. If you take him down,

the chairman will definitely reward you handsomely, and your influence will

only grow!”

Declan’s eyes widened in shock.

He froze, shocked by her audacity. This woman really has guts!

To kill a 5–Star Battle General, especially one who had once been his idol, was something Declan had never dared to imagine. Just the thought of it had

once sent chills down his spine, and now, as the words echoed around him,

he trembled in fear.

Emmanuel sneered coldly. “Commander Gray, I won’t beat around the bush. I

plan to wipe out the Quills and remove Teddy Tanner’s henchmen. Are you

really eager to take me on?”

Declan hesitated, unsure of how to respond.

The Quills were his benefactors, his financial backbone. If Emmanuel

eliminated them, how would the Silver Fox Military survive?

But engaging in battle with the Wolf Warrior was a gamble–one that could

end in death. That took an enormous amount of courage!

“Mr. Gray, with things the way they are today, if you show any weakness, what

do you think people will think of you in the future? Who will take the Silver Fo

Military seriously after this? Do you still have any credibility left in front of your

soldiers?” Stella urged.

“Enough! I know what I need to do!”

Declan’s gaze gradually hardened.

As a formidable figure, he knew ambition was essential; otherwise, the Silver

Fox Military wouldn’t have reached its current heights.

“Fortune favors the bold. If one wants to be a king, they have to take out the old king, Emmanuel! Don’t blame me for being ruthless–blame yourself for

being so overconfident!”

Seeing the shift in his demeanor and hearing his words, Emmanuel solasc

that Declan was ready for war

Stella’s heart raced with excitement at the declaration, and the continued to

rally Declan with fervor. “Mr. Gray! You’re amazing! You’re truly a heral

admire you so much!”

She had a short fuse and couldn’t swallow the humiliation. No matter the

consequences, she was determined to see Emmanuel dead.

What she hadn’t anticipated was how Emmanuel, surrounded by the Silver

Fox Military, remained unflappable and utterly fearless.

This man is absolutely infuriating!

It really makes me furious!

Declan made the decision to go to war and slowly backed away, distancing

himself from Emmanuel and his companions while keeping a vigilant eye.

He knew the power of the Wolf Warrior. If it came down to a one–on–one fight,

no one could match him. He had to prevent Emmanuel from turning the

tables.

Emmanuel, aware of Declan’s intentions, refrained from attacking. If he had

chosen to, Declan would have been a corpse by now.

It wasn’t until Declan had retreated a hundred meters away that he suddenly,

raised his hand and commanded, “Attack!” Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

In an instant, the soldiers aimed their weapons at Emmanuel and Sage.

Stella believed victory was in the bag.

Joy surged through her as she felt her long–simmering resentment was

finally about to explode.

“Ha! Emmanuel! Let’s see how cocky you still are! Did you really think you

could run wild in Chanaea? Let me tell you now: Eldoria belongs to the Quills

and the Silver Fox Military! You’re in our territory. No matter who you are, you’ll

have to lie low!”

“Is that so?”

Emmanuel looked at her with a smirk that masked his disdain.

She stood there, legs apart and head held high, radiating an air of triumph

that was off the charts.

“Ms. Stella, you’re just like an overinflated balloon! I can’t wait to see the

fireworks when you finally pop!”

“Why you!” Stella bit her lip in frustration, furious that this man seemed utterly

oblivious to the danger he was in!

“Emmanuel, you should stop talking tough! Don’t think for a second that I

wouldn’t dare kill you!” Declan coldly interjected, “Either way, if I don’t kill you

today, you’ll end up killing me sooner or later. So, I’ll strike-”

Before he could finish his command, a streak of fire shot across the sky.

Boom!

The sound of artillery followed, slamming into the Silver Fox Military base.

In an instant, the ground seemed to shake, and the air crackled with tension.

Everyone except Emmanuel struggled to keep their footing.

Stella lost her balance, landing hard on her backside, her head spinning as

she momentarily forgot who she was and where she was.

Hugbert was just as stunned, while Declan and Gerald looked pale as ghosts.

They understood all too well that such heavy artillery could only come from

an elite military force. If it wasn’t the Wolf Warrior Unit making a move, who

else could it possibly be?

Just then, a chorus of thunderous shouts erupted from outside.

Soldiers from the Wolf Warrior Unit charged in like a tidal wave, their presence

overwhelming and fierce.

“Commander!”

A soldier from the Silver Fox Military rushed over, his face pale as he reported,

“We’re surrounded by other forces! Their numbers are uncertain–over a

hundred armored vehicles, drone formations, and high–altitude bombers!

We’ve been detected by their radar… Please advise, Commander!”

What?!

Aircraft, armored vehicles, radar lock?

Declan felt a wave of panic wash over him; the difference in firepower and

combat efficiency was staggering!

The soldiers of the Silver Fox Military were ashen–faced and trembling, clearly

losing their resolve. They knew that if they didn’t surrender now, they’d be

dead before they knew it.

“Commander Gray, do you really want to keep resisting?”
