Love At Last

Relieved

Cayden

I still wasn’t so sure about Lily’s idea but she’s smart and I guess I’ve just got to try it out. It won’t hurt to.

“Hey, can you drop me off at home?” Lily asked as we stepped out of the place

“Sure, why not?”

I went ahead to open the door to the passengers seat for her

“Thanks”

“You’re welcome”

I felt like hanging out a little longer with her but she had to go to work anyway. Won’t hurt to ask though.

“Hey Lily, do you want to hang out a little longer with me?”

She hesitated for a while

“Do you have any place in mind?”

“Not one in particular but let’s see..”

I drove off thinking of where to take her to.

“How about I take you out for just a light breakfast?”

“Okay then”

I drove to a place a few blocks away. They had great aesthetic features, I hoped the food was good too because Lily is a critic and seems hard to impress.

We got in and got a table close to the window; she was a sucker for views too. I signalled the waiter, he came over

“Order what you’d like to have Lily,” I said to her

“I’ll have a burger and coffee, preferably not black please”

“I’ll have the same, thanks”

“Go big or go home, I guess?” She was clueless

“The burger?”

“Oh yea” She laughed “I love junk and I love burgers”

“Oh, that’s cool”

The orders came in shortly and we ate and talked about different things. She talked about her dad but didn’t go into details. I didn’t want to pry. She was really fun to converse with.

After breakfast, I drove her home. His grandma was outside so she saw me.

“Hey Cayden, how are you doing?” She seemed happy to see me, surprisingly.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

“I’m doing grea

“I’m fine, thanks for dropping her home”

“My pleasure ma’am” I drove back home

This little lady was waiting for me back home, sitting on my couch like a paranoid mum, waiting for her child who hasn’t still gotten home after dark

“Where the hell have you been? Is this how you’re going to neglect me and run off?”

I didn’t utter a word

“Didn’t you hear me Cayden? Where the fuck did you go?”

I was fed up with this woman, questioning my every move

“Why do I have to answer you, huh? Why are you acting so petty like a mum?!” I paced about the living room

“I want you to get out of my house now woman, just leave. I’m tired of seeing you everywhere. You’re in my face morning, noon and night and I don’t even like you! Hell” It felt good letting all that out. It’s been inside for so long, my stomach no longer tightened.

“Why would you say something like that? No, you must be joking, I know you don’t mean that”

“Oh, yes I do and you have no idea how much..”

“Cayden? You have no reason to send me out. I have done wrong!”

I was just not having it at the moment I was charged. I started walking towards her room.

“I have nowhere to go and it’s getting late. Please don’t do this to me”

I completely ignored her and started packing her items of luggage out of the room. I’d never entered her room since she came to this house now. She had decorated the room like it was hers for life. It was looking very womanly but still beautiful. Such a shame she had to leave. If only she had behaved herself. I went to the wardrobe and removed her clothes from there, packing them in her luggage and carrying them to the living room. There was nothing she was going to say that would have changed my mind.

“Cayden, stop this now!”

She must be stupid if she thought I’d listen to her, especially with a tone like that. Entitled bitch!

I kept waiting for her to magically bring out the proof she claimed to have against me but it didn’t happen. Guess they were just all lies like Lily had said, to make her stay.

“If you’re in desperate need of a man, find one around. Your type isn’t so hard to find anyway. They’ll keep you busy and satisfied.”

I could see the fear in her eyes, she was so scared. Thankfully, she’s not a broke person, she could easily lodge at a hotel for as long as she wished to stay.

I helped her take her luggage outside and hailed a cab for her from the kindness of my heart. I had done more than enough.

A cab stopped directly in front of the house

“Please Sir take this lady to wherever she wants to go.” I turned to her “you can help yourself and lift the luggage into the car.” I walked to my door and sat at the doorstep watching her scream

“You’ll regret this Cayden, I’m coming for you, you deserve what’s coming…”

I just kept laughing inside me, nothing was coming. Funny how ladies use all these threats as a front. Well, whatever makes her feel good, as long as she’s out of my driveway.

“Cayden! Are you going to keep ignoring me? Cayden! You ungrateful ass! I hate you do much”

Her voice was so loud, I’m sure someone at the end of the street could hear. She looked crazy and I was enjoying the view.

The cab man honked for her because he was tired of waiting.” Madam, please get into the car, I’m not being paid to wait”

She turned to him, “can’t you see that I’m in the middle of something? ” She hissed and turned back to me, her hair was a mess, her eyes red with eyeliner washing down her cheeks because of tears.

The cab guy started moving

“Hey, please stop” She moved to the car and got her luggage in, went to the passenger seat and drove off.

I felt so much relief and the breeze that blew across my face complimented it.

t Mrs Annie, you?”
