I Refuse to Divorce

Chapter 87

Chapter 87

Mason was a scion of a wealthy family. He rarely engaged in physical altercations, especially not over a woman.

However, today was different. He got into a heated brawl with Gregory, and it was quite intense. Neither backed down, and both ended up with some bruises.

In the end, Mason delivered a harsh kick to Gregory. Turning to Zoe, he said, "Let's go."

Despite the pain, Gregory grabbed Zoe's arm, his face bruised but intense. He stared into her eyes and said, "The last time you told me, I only make things difficult for women. You said besides Mason, no one could help you.

"Zoe, now I'm telling you, I can too. I promise to give you everything Mason can, and even what he can't. Zoe, why go back to him? Why chain yourself to this loveless marriage? You admitted you don't love him anymore."

Zoe watched him calmly. After a while, she gently pushed away Gregory's hand, smiling faintly. "Gregory, I think you've misunderstood. I chose to go back to Mason willingly. Our relationship is strong. In adult marriages, aside from love, there's also the matter of mutual benefit, isn't there?"

She added, "You should understand this better than I do."

Gregory stared at her with unfamiliar eyes as if he had never known her. Zoe's composure remained flawless. Eventually, Gregory gritted his teeth and said, "That's hypocritical of you, Mrs. Lockwood."

Zoe gently took Mason's arm. Tilting her head, she looked at him tenderly as if feeling sorry for him. "Mason, let me tend to your wounds when we get home."

Mason looked down at her from a commanding position, his enigmatic black eyes difficult to read.

Half an hour later, the driver brought them back to their mansion. As soon as the car stopped, Mason took Zoe toward the second floor.

Seeing his bruised face and imposing demeanor, the house staff wisely refrained from intervening in the couple's private matters.

The bedroom door opened, and Zoe was thrown onto the large bed.

The soft bedding enveloped her, and before she could struggle, Mason pressed her down.

Zoe's long black hair spread over the pillows. She clenched the bedsheets as she reluctantly accommodated Mason's desires and anger.

Amidst their movements, Mason grabbed her long hair, kissed her deeply, and kept his eyes fixed on her, his gaze unwavering. "There's no one that you like, huh?"

Zoe breathed lightly, her eyes fixed on him. She refused to answer his question.

Mason's actions became more intense, nearly ransacking half the bed.

Finally, holding onto his neck, Zoe was willing to speak. In a voice husky with mature charm, she said, "Mason, it's not difficult to be Mrs. Lockwood now that I don't like you."

Mason paused, lowering his head to look at her.

In his deep, stormy gaze, emotions stirred that he could not comprehend. Zoe lifted herself, kissing the corner of his mouth. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

Caressing his handsome face, she spoke softly, "I don't think you'd want my love either. Isn't this arrangement between us perfect as it is? I won't demand your emotions or loyalty, and you don't need to control me."

Mason did not get angry but chuckled.

Leaning close to her sweaty forehead, he murmured, "If that's the case, let me see your sincerity, Mrs. Lockwood."
