Chapter 424
Chapter 424
In a world as vast as the ocean, searching for one person feels like finding a needle in a haystack. Fletcher was determined to see Morwenna and ask her face-to-face what had happened. But Morwenna wasn't answering her phone or replying to messages.
So, Fletcher decided to go directly to her place, showing up at Hetfield's Homestead, only to be stopped at the gates. Several burly security guards barred his way, simply stating he wasn't allowed in. No matter how Fletcher explained who he was, the guards wouldn't budge.
Not willing to force his way through, Fletcher turned around and headed to Rosefrost University. Morwenna was a student there, and since it wasn't vacation time, her sudden disappearance was odd. Fletcher hoped the university might shed some light on her whereabouts.
At Rosefrost University, Fletcher ran into Keira. Keira was beside herself with worry for Morwenna. The thought that her timid friend might skip classes to find Morwenna had her on edge. One day, Morwenna and Lorna had simply vanished, and since then, all calls went unanswered. Normally, such an act would draw the school's ire-sneaking out and not returning for days was serious business. Yet, it seemed the dean had managed to keep the incident under wraps.
Having waited days with no sign of them, Keira's anxiety peaked when she saw Fletcher. Grabbing his shirt in desperation, her eyes brimming with tears, she pleaded, "You're Wenna's friend, right? Do you know where she is? She's been gone for days now."
Fletcher furrowed his brow and asked, "Days? Did she take leave for some reason, or did something happen?"Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Keira shook her head vigorously, "I don't know. Wenna's always been so diligent; she wouldn't miss a single class, let alone disappear for days. Something must have happened... but I'm clueless. Lorna left with her three nights ago."
Fletcher's mind raced. Three nights ago that was the same day Stuart had left. Fletcher quickly said, "Morwenna's fine, don't worry too much. It's Norbert; something's happened to him. I'll check on it."
"Please, you must help Wenna. Has something happened to Norbert? She cares about him more than anyone. What are we going to do? Here, take this card; it has some money on it. Could you please give it to Wenna?"
Keira handed Fletcher a card, not just any card, but one containing all her savings. She feared Wenna might need money for Norbert's medical expenses, not considering the wealth of the Hetfield family; her only thought was to help Wenna.
Fletcher sighed, giving Keira a longer

look, seeing in her the same desire to help Morwenna. Softening his tone, he reassured, "It's okay, I'lL handle it. Go back to school, leave me your number, and I'll update you once everything's sorted." to
"Okay, okay, thank you," she said, relief washing over her.
Fletcher then hurried off. The brothers reconvened, all wearing grim expressions.
Matthew spoke first, "There's trouble at the Hetfield Group. Phineas has suddenly emerged, almost taking control of the Hetfield family."
Fletcher, with a stern face, added,
"I've heard some things too. It must be Norbert; Phineas and his ilk seizing the moment isn't surprising. With Stuart away, they always stir trouble." to
"It's not just trouble; there's more. The issue of Reuben embezzling funds has resurfaced. Phineas got an exoneration, and that
billion-dollar shortfall is now Stuart's problem. The Hetfield Group is divided; some are panicking, others have already switched sides to Phineas." to
Brian shook his head in disbelief, "Impossible! Stuart wouldn't let his guard down, not even if Norbert was in trouble. He would never hand Phineas an exoneration."
After a moment of silence, Matthew spoke softly, "Unless, unintentionally, it was his wife who gave Phineas that document. We've tried, but none of us can access Stuart's computer."
Fletcher, always the one to have faith in Morwenna, immediately objected, "That can't be. Morwenna wouldn't do such a thing!"
"Sometimes," Matthew sighed, "even the closest faces hide the most secrets."
