Giselle’s words just now made Andrew smile. Taking a small sip of his coffee. And let the girl in front of him go back to chewing her cake slice with gusto. Judging by the way she was using the cutlery, it looked like she had just let out some of her frustration through that remark.
Andrew understood why Giselle seemed emotional. For as long as he’d known Nami in the club from the moment she appeared until the end of the show, the twinkle in the girl’s eyes had been non-existent. At all. Empty and full of compulsion. What burned in those beautiful eyes was only an obligation. Not from the bottom of her heart. Although many were tempted, they could only touch her body, not her heart.
And Andrew didn’t want that to be presented to him. He wants what’s inside Nami-or as he now calls her, Giselle, as she would like to be-fully. Especially her fragile heart wrapped in a very hard shell.
“You say that like I’m going to drag you to bed.” Andrew put down his cup slowly. This time, his eyes were fixed on the other person. And as he had guessed, Giselle always managed to keep up with her interlocutor no matter how much pressure was put on her. Which made Andrew realize that Giselle was made of steel.
“I didn’t approach you for those petty things. No matter what you have, everything you say, I ignore it all.”
Giselle was still faithfully looking at Andrew without pause.
“I want your heart, Giselle.”
That remark received a chuckle in response from the other person. The eyes that originally gave a calculating and cynical look, began to disappear. Replaced with the look they had when they first met at this cafe. Warm and friendly.
“You’re so good at using your mouth to brag,” Giselle said, holding back her laughter. “Really, it would have been better if I’d heard you wanted that-”
“I don’t want that, Giselle. To me, your heart is far more important. Having you with my heart is what I want more than anything in this world.”
“Even your current position?”
Andrew was silent but then he chuckled. “My position? What’s wrong with the position I have now? Is there a problem?”
“That should be a question for me to ask you.” Giselle clucked in annoyance. Since she had run out of cakes, she was at a loss as to what to munch on. She still needed some sweets before the torture came to her. She frowned a little but it seemed that the other person knew what was in Giselle’s heart.
“You want to order more? Don’t hesitate. I can even buy this entire shop for you.”
Instead, Giselle wore a face full of sadness. “I can’t imagine what kind of training and dieting Brina would give me if that were to happen.” She rested her head on the table. “I got caught cheating a lot during quarantine, and it was because of you.”
“Me?” Andrew blinked in confusion. Wasn’t the conversation serious enough to discuss? It had to do with a lot of feelings and phrases that Andrew wanted to say. But why was Giselle so quick to deflect? On a whim?
But Andrew should have been able to anticipate how Giselle would build an exciting and unforgettable conversation. Ah… damn. Andrew should be more sensitive and be able to keep up with Giselle’s wishes. You could say he’s lucky enough to see another side of Giselle here, right?
“Yes, because you give me chocolate treats almost every day. I gained weight and Justin realized it. I couldn’t make an excuse because I found out who sent the chocolates during quarantine.”
Andrew was stunned. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing but this was Justin. The man who was Giselle’s boss and the one who was so protective of her. But his knowledge of Giselle is quite horrifying. Is he the man Andrew should be competing with?
If so… how many steps has he lost?
No, no, no. Andrew, this was no time to give up. Not only had he been given six months to get close to Giselle, but also to prove his seriousness, and he didn’t seem to have any excess romance for Giselle. That’s right. He had to make up his mind that Justin wasn’t his rival.
“He even knows how much weight I’ve gained from chocolate,” Giselle said, covering her face. “It’s embarrassing.”
“I feel bad for what happened to you.” Andrew didn’t know what to say, nor did he expect this remark to trigger Giselle’s irritation. The girl immediately lifted her face, giving him a scathing look and ready to start a fight.
“Right.” Giselle pounded the table a little. “You’re the one who’s wrong. If you hadn’t tempted me with so much chocolate, I wouldn’t have been tempted.”
Andrew blinked in disbelief.
“You must take responsibility.”
“What… what can I do for you?” asked Andrew as he looked around. Don’t let Giselle’s actions attract the attention of other visitors. But it didn’t seem like something Andrew needed to worry about. There weren’t many visitors this morning, maybe because it was still early? I don’t know. But it was definitely an advantage for Andrew.
“Don’t send me chocolate again.”
“But…”
“I won’t accept.”
That said, if Andrew could have laughed at Giselle’s miserable face, he would have done so earlier. But since this was a Giselle he didn’t want to hurt his heart and spirit, Andrew chose to nod in agreement. Even though he knew that Giselle and chocolate were inseparable. Stopping the chocolate shipment and Giselle not being able to eat it, Andrew was sure it felt like something was missing from his life.
“What if I make you a special order? Low-sugar cookies without compromising the chocolate flavor?”Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
Giselle slightly rubbed the corners of her eyes. Imagining the jar of cookies that would become less of a part of her daily life was unbearable. After two weeks together and suddenly having to cut back, it wasn’t easy for Giselle.
“Indeed… it can be done?”
“I think so,” Andrew said with a calm look. His hand unconsciously reached out and rubbed Giselle’s head lightly. “I’ll try for you. But don’t lose your smile and spirit.”
Giselle blinked twice. Digesting.
“Just tell me your schedule, I’ll adjust it. For you, I can try my best.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” Andrew smiled widely.
“Okay. But don’t make me gain weight.”
“I’ll talk to an experienced chef, especially for you.”
“Okay.” Giselle perked up again. “I can’t wait for that special delivery.”
“You really like chocolate, huh?”
Giselle nodded without hesitation. But then, the girl’s caution returned. “But that doesn’t mean I agree to you approaching using your heart. I won’t. I still want to achieve what I can achieve now.”
“It’s okay,” Andrew said immediately. “I’ll wait until you know that I’m here to sincerely want your heart and prove that I’m not the man out there that you think I am.” The hand that had been rubbing the top of Giselle’s head earlier, lightly touched the girl’s hand. It was gentle, clasping it tightly as if all the feelings Andrew had were there. “Watch and feel how I want you with my heart. If one day your heart already has an opening for me to enter, you can judge for yourself how sincere it is.”
