After a few days, at Stoslo…
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs employees had a party, and Leah was invited.
Leah wasn’t planning on going, but her colleagues were very passionate, so she agreed.
After work, they all went to a restaurant for the party.
Once Leah walked in, she noticed that Dennis was there. He was in a blue sports jacket, and it looked fashionable.
She sat down with two other female interpreters.
Denish swirled his wine glass as he spoke to someone, and his eyes fell on Leah. “Ms. Younge, is this your first time joining our party?”
One of the women teased him. “You’re paying too much attention to her. Is there something going on. between you two?”
Dennis smiled. “I wouldn’t mind that at all.” It was obvious what he meant. He was very open about it.
Leah frowned but then smiled politely. “You’re very frank.”
“Always have been.”
The woman sitting next to Leah leaned close. “Are you going to consider it?”
Everyone started getting excited.
Leah just smiled. “I’m going to focus on my career for now.”
“Ms. Younge is a career-driven woman.”
“I guess. I just prefer to let relationships unfold naturally. In Zlokovia, we usually both work together to get closer.”
Dennis slowly sipped his wine and didn’t continue the topic.
When everyone got there, Leah noticed that the woman sitting in the corner looked anxious and like she didn’t fit in.
Leah kept her eyes on her and noticed that she was the person she had bumped into the other day.
Leah was curious. Usually, when couples fought, they wouldn’t make it obvious to everyone else. Since she was sitting quite far from Dennis, she wasn’t interacting with him at all.
‘Did they break up?”
The woman looked up and saw her looking.
Leah paused and raised her glass politely, but the woman looked away, worried that she would be seen.
She raised her brows until Dennis looked in the direction that she was looking.
Leah speculated whether there was something funny going on between them.
All the food arrived, and everyone started dining and chatting happily.
Leah got a message from Morrison.
She replied to the message, but the woman beside her noticed it and smiled. “Text from your boyfriend?”
Leah paused, then put her phone back into her pocket. “Just a friend.”
“A man or a woman?”
“You’re pretty nosy.”
The colleague chuckled. “Everyone in the department is. We just want to be in the know. I’ve been very interested in gossip from overseas. I heard that the princess of Yaramoor gave birth to three heirs.”
“We know that too. It’s in the news.”
Everyone excitedly joined in the discussion and was jealous of Daisie.
Leah knew Daisie, so she was in an awkward position because they were talking about her friend. What could she say?
“Ms. Younge, aren’t you from Bassburgh? The princess is from there too, right? Do you know her?”
Leah smiled. “She’s a famous actress. Everyone knows her.”
She didn’t make her relationship with Daisie clear but still gave a sensible answer.
While everyone was still on the topic, Leah realized that the woman was no longer there.
