Not hiding her feelings
Joel had dropped his assistant at the company before heading towards the airport. As promised, it didn’t take him more than 20 minutes to get there.
He stepped out of his Lexus ride and raised his brow when he spotted his friend with a big sun shade covering half his face, while standing in an imposing manner, as if waving people off from him.
Joel spotted him easily. Even if the man had his back towards him, he would still recognize him. He was about to call him to come out of the lounge anyway, but it appears his friend had been waiting for him.
His eyes searched the inside of each car that arrived intensely, under his shade, and it didn’t take long for their eyes to meet.
Taking large strides towards Joel, he soon caught up with Joel, who had done the same.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
As if he wasn’t the one cursing Joel on the phone earlier, they both shared a friendly hug. “Welcome, bro. Sorry I came late.” Joel said as they parted.
“Let’s just leave. Thanks for coming to pick me up.” Adam replied, walking towards the other side of the car and taking his seat at the shotgun seat.
Joel stepped into the driver’s seat, and soon enough, he drove off.
“What’s up with you? You look a bit flustered.” Joel probed.
Nosy, as usual, Adam knew nothing could escape his friend’s eyes. Joel was someone who is always a hundred per cent attentive. And he wanted to know everything.
Adam removed his sun shade completely to reveal tired yet beautiful blue eyes and smooth toned face that, although looking tired, could make females admire him.
Adam sighed.
“I was sitting next to a couple and well…..” he grimaced, making Joel want to hear the whole story. His curiosity picked as usual.
Adam sighed before continuing. “Well, I was so tired and fell asleep. I didn’t know when my head dropped to the side and almost touched the shoulder of the wife, but the husband held my head before that could happen and shouted at me, asking me what I was trying to do.. Like heck, I’m going to hit on a married woman… damn it was so embarrassing.” Adam hissed like a snake and felt Joel pat his shoulder.
Understanding where the situation must have led, Joel decided not to make the man continue cause he looked so embarrassed.
The wife had probably got scared and either moved to another seat or she tried to explain to her husband that it must have been a mistake from Adam’s side, and her husband got mad at her.
Either way, they would have attracted a bit of attention, and the space they gave Adam would leave him as a centre of attention. Hence, he decided to hide his face and came to wait outside.
“Sorry, man.” Joel said to him after finishing the story in his head.
Adam groaned weakly, and it took less than 5 minutes before Adam adjusted the seat and fell asleep.
Joel smiled, hearing the soft breathing of his tired friend.
He was planning for them to go out and have a bit of a chill out, but seeing how tired he was, Joel quickly messaged Carey to book a hotel in 15 minute.
Taking a detour, Joel drove needlessly around until Carey had sent him the location.
He drove to the location, and upon lodging in, Adam fell asleep again after mouthing his thanks to Joel, who promised to return in the evening.
Joel returned to work and having already sorted his work overnight. He decided to say hello to Nima before taking a nap, and.
….
Nima was going through her daily routine of watching movies, reading erotica novels, and going through comments and emails from her fans when she received an incoming call.
Emily. She thought until he saw the familiar phone number of Joel.
Her heart picked pace in excitement.
She breathed in and out at a fast pace, and with a shaky hand, she picked the call.
“Angel, it’s me, Joel. How are you doing?” Joel greeted her.
“I’m alright, and you? I hope you’re well as well.” Nima responded.
Joel’s heart skipped, and he grinned like a man, having secured a million dollars deal without much effort.
“I’ve always been good, but ever since yesterday that you happened to me, angel, I’ve been the best. I keep thinking about you. I keep wondering how it would feel to meet with you. I can’t wait, Angel.” Joel said.
Maybe it’s the sincerity in his voice or the sexiness of his words. Nima wasn’t sure, but she liked what she was hearing and not wanting to hide her feelings, “she replied.
“I can’t wait to meet you also.”
And just like that, Joel’s attempt to have a nap failed miserably. He was given a tornado that swirled through his brain till evening time he went to check on his friend.
