Chapter 8 Apology
Tammy impatiently glanced at Blanche and said, "Cathy, sit down. Leave her alone. It's her fault. She should not have walked without looking at the road. She deserved it."
Cathy slowly sat down. She was happy to see Blanche's face turn pale with pain. But it was just the appetizer.
"Miss Kent, did you get the limited-edition bag you asked Louis to buy for you last night? I envy you. There are only three of them in the world. But you can easily get one."
Tammy's face instantly became sullen. Then, she glared at Blanche and said, "Did you ask Louis to buy you a bag? Blanche, don't think that you are Mrs. Herbart now! I will never admit you."
Blanche pursed her lips. Cathy had not only secretly tripped her but also told Tammy she had asked Louis to buy her a bag. Did she think she was a pushover?
"Miss Bird, have you received your bag? If you had not pestered Louis and asked him to buy you the bag in the middle of the night, I would not have asked him to buy one for me. After all, the bag you chose is also a limited edition. There are only four in the world. Although the Herbart family refuses to admit me, the title of Mrs. Herbart belongs to me now. If outsiders know Mrs. Herbart is carrying bags in the same grade as Miss Bird, the Herbart family will lose face."
Cathy's face turned pale. Sure enough, as soon as Blanche finished speaking, Mrs. Herbart's sullen gaze turned to her.
"Cathy, are you still pestering Louis at night? Didn't I tell you..."
Seeing Tammy hesitate to speak, Blanche wondered what she had told Cathy before.
Cathy hurriedly explained, "Aunt Tammy, you misunderstood. She is framing me. I didn't ask Louis to buy me the bag. It is her that asked him to buy her a bag. I just said the bag was pretty and asked him to have a look."
Tammy nodded, "OK! Louis is busy with work. Don't bother him with such things anymore. What I care about is not the bag. If you like it, I will buy it for you. But you should not have disturbed him at night. He needs to rest."
"I see," Cathy obediently nodded.
Then, she turned her head and gave Blanche a hard look.
Tammy then said, "Blanche, I'm warning you! Don't tell others you are Mrs. Herbart. Otherwise, I will teach you a good lesson. I will choose another wife for my son. He is way out of your league!"
Hearing this, Blanche didn't reply but stood up, saying, "I'm going outside for a walk."
Sure enough, as soon as she stood up, Cathy stretched out a foot to trip her again. Blanche secretly smiled, thinking she was asking for it.
Suddenly, there was a scream in the living room.
Blanche looked ahead but accurately stepped on Cathy's foot.
Cathy roared through gritted teeth, "Go away, b*tch! You are stepping on my foot."
"Sorry, I didn't see it! Doesn't it hurt?"
When Blanche slowly moved her foot away, there was a clear shoeprint on Cathy's supposedly clean instep. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
Tammy felt distressed and said, "Blanche, you are too vicious! Cathy, are you okay?"
"Aunt Tammy, it hurts. She did it on purpose. I told you she asked Louis to buy her a bag, so she retaliated against me. I won't dare to say anything more to you from now on. It hurts! My foot is swollen."
Noticing Louis coming downstairs, Cathy bent over and pretended she had been severely hurt.
Tammy raised her head, glared at Blanche, and viciously said, "You did it on purpose! Apologize to Cathy!"
Blanche lightly glanced at them and turned around to go out. What a hypocrite Cathy was! She had intended to trip her first. But now, she was blaming the victim again! Blanche would not let her get away with it. After all, her knee was still hurting like hell.
"Apologize."
A stern voice pierced Blanche's eardrums from behind.
She unwillingly stopped her steps. When she stubbornly looked back, she saw Louis coldly staring at her as if his gaze could tear her body apart.
"Are you deaf? I asked you to apologize to Cathy!"
