Chapter 28 No Care
Chapter 28 No Care
Rosalie pushed the wheelchair slowly to the company building of Spencer.
She tried hard not to notice the stares, but all the stares she received along the way were either
surprise or pity.
Countless times people came up to her and asked if she needed help.
She felt nothing but shame.
Aleena brought her all these humiliations.
But even now that Aleena was dead, the damage had been done.
She would still curse her that she went to hell without rest.
Rosalie pushed the wheelchair to the front desk, where the receptionist was surprised to see her but
soon she showed a professional smile, “Hello, do you need any help?”
“I want to find Spencer Cook.” Rosalie said.
She had thought she was used to these looks, but it was still painful and sad to see their surprise or
pity.
The receptionist heard her call Spencer's name, she was disdainful, “You can call Mr. Cook's name
casually.”
“Why?” Rosalie sneered, “I'm Mr. Cook's girlfriend.”
“As far as I know, Mr. Cook is married.” The receptionist smiled. “Are you mistaken? Perhaps you are
not looking for our Mr. Cook?”
Rosalie felt more and more sulky.
She intended to give Spencer a surprise, but now it was in vain.
She took out her cell phone and called Spencer.
It was a long time before Spenser picked it up. “Rosalie?”
His voice sounded tired.
“I'm in your lobby now, Spencer.” Rosalie said pitifully, “But the receptionist does not allow me in.”
“Give her the phone and I'll talk to her,” Said Spencer.
Rosalie gave her the phone proudly.
The front desk answered the phone and apologized. She gave the phone back and said seriously,
“Sorry, it was my fault, please come with me.”
“No need, I can go myself.” Rosalie sneered, “Spencer will fire you. you can pack up and be ready to
leave.”
Then she proudly pushed her wheelchair to the elevator.
The receptionist looked at her back and shook her head in pity.
Did this woman think she was important in Mr. Cook's heart?
But Mr. Cook sounded like she was just an ordinary friend. He just warned her and asked her to
apologize and take her to him. It seemed that he did not care too much about this person.
She didn't know where she got that confidence.
The receptionist shook her head and recalled Spencer’s wife came to the company once.
She was kind and gentle. She came with a cup of chicken soup and told her she was here for Spencer.
But her tone was gentle and she used a lot of polite expressions. She liked such a person at once.
Because there was no appointment so she could not enter, so she called Mr. Cook with the front desk's
internal line. Mr. Cook soon came down to pick her up.
Although she left alone with red eyes. It seemed that there was a quarrel between the couple, and she
cried.
But she still thought that the relationship between the couple should be good, only such a woman could
match Mr. Cook.
However, it seemed like it had been ages since she saw Spencer’s wife...
...
Rosalie pushed open the door of the office. Spencer worked seriously in there.
Rosalie smiled softly, and all the grievances, unhappiness and perturbation she had suffered
disappeared at once.
She said softly, “Spencer.”
“Well, there you are.” Spencer got up to push her forward and said lightly
Rosalie felt his mood wrong, “Spencer, are you not happy?”
“I'm fine.” Spencer shook his head, but thought of the message from an unknown number.
It said, “Don't you want to know why Aleena is ? Don't you want to know who is behind?”
He didn't reply, but he was already distraught.
He had some answers in his mind, but he did not want to say it out.
He looked up at Rosalie with a complicated look.
Rosalie, as simple as before, had also changed.
It seemed that people around him were changing, making him feel unfamiliar.
Whether it was Aleena or Rosalie.
He convinced himself that he should understand Rosalie, but he grew increasingly restless. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
How long had this gone on?
It would be better if he kept everything a secret and pretended not to know.
But the fact could not be erased from his mind.
So now when he saw Rosalie, he felt very uncomfortable in heart.
If Rosalie was treated by the receptionist in the past, he must have fired the receptionist.
Now, however, he only gave a warning and did nothing about it.
He only felt tired, but he did not know where exhaustion came from.
“What's on your mind, Spencer?” Rosalie stretched out her hand and waved in front of his eyes. She
was dissatisfied with his trance, but did not say anything.
Spencer came to himself and shook her head with a smile. “Nothing. Why do you come here?”
