Black Rose: Revenge Of The Callous Heiress

Chapter 5

Every single time that she falls sick, her mother, or to be more precise, her stepmother is the one who always takes care of her. There was even a time when she exhausted herself while taking care of her one time. How could that be all fake?C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

Then it suddenly occurred to her, her father had been acting strangely lately. He kept calling her to have a meal with him, sometimes he'd ask her to visit him and spend a few days at the mansion. He showed her much more love than usual like he was going to lose her to

the past few months and days. But she thought that it was because he misses her so much that he was acting strangely.

At the same time, her father had also been the one to arrange this wedding anniversary for her. He kept saying that he wanted her to have a memorable wedding anniversary for the past four years she had been married. So how could all this happen of he hadn't planned it or arranged it in the first place?

Even if she screamed at this rate, it was useless because no one would be able to hear her. The loud music on the first floor was already deafening enough for the guests and she was on the second floor. Her scream would simply be lost in the cheers and laughter from the crowds on the first, plus there was also a soundproof.

"Hahaha! Hahahaha!" Roseline suddenly broke out into a fit of laughter. The laughter was of despair and bitterness, tears gathering in her eyes. 'So this is the truth? How pitiful of her! But, why?' She thought.

"Cough! Cough!" Blood began to gush out of Tatiana's mouth because of the poison, however, the taste of their betrayal was all that Roseline could taste in her mouth. Anger and hatred roared in her chest, she was in pain, extreme pain but she still refused to shed a tear in front of them. It would only please them more to see her crying and she wouldn't keep them satisfied.

"Why would my dad do this to me?! I don't believe you at all, Sophia!" Though she muttered those words out, she believed it more than not after connecting the dots. However, she had to know the full truth and be one hundred percent sure.

The corner of Sophia's slightly curled up into a sly smile. "You really want to know the truth before you die? Don't worry sis, I'd gladly tell you cause it's the last gift I have for you before you die. You see, recently dad made a very bad investment and lost billions not millions and the company is also on the brink of bankruptcy. But we totally have nothing to worry about because of you, sis......" Sophia trailed off to see the expression on Roseline's face.

Roseline raised her head up. "What about me? I wasn't the one who asked him to make the investment."

"Tsk, tsk, sis, you should have gotten a hint by now. Anyways, we have nothing to worry because you have lots of money sister. You're practically a gold mine and dad doesn't care about you. What he truly cares about isn't you but your money. The marriage between your parents was just merely an ally of two powers....." Sophia kept talking, even though she was standing a few distance away from Roseline it sounded extremely cold. Roseline couldn't comprehend what she was saying, despite the fact that she heard everything. She had money? Where? What is the nonsense she's sprouting out? The pain and torture was preventing her from thinking and understanding all the nonsense Sophia was saying. Her drowsy eyes fell on the face of the man she had idolized all her life.

"Henry...... for once......have you ever loved me?" She asked, a tiny bit of her hoping to say that he did, even though he got tired of it later. It was okay by her.

Henry's face turns into a frown hearing Roseline's question. Even though she could vaguely see his figure, her ears were perfect and clear enough to hear his cold, cruel words.

"No."

A pleased and satisfied smile appeared on Sophia's face. She lifted her chin up, brimming with victorious pride. "You're just too naive, sister. Why would Henry love someone who is weak and useless like you? It's me that he loves, obviously. He has just been using you." Those words struck Roseline like lightning, her eyes open widely. She was totally confused and lost, unable to comprehend what she was hearing. What had she done wrong exactly?

She bit the bottom of her lips in order to stop herself from crying. The tears only gathered in her eyes, blurring her view. "All you've just said are lies. Henry loves me. If he didn't he wouldn't have married me, you're probably the one manipulating him." Roseline didn't want to believe that all this was real. She wants to believe that this is just a dream.

Sophia smirked at Roseline wickedly before turning her attention to Henry. She gently stroked his chest flirtatiously and asked. "Henry, who did you love? Tell us, so that she can understand."

Henry looked at Sophia with immense affection, he reached for her fine hand and held it up before planting a kiss on the back of her hand. "Of course, it's you that I love, Sophia. You're my favorite of all, my darling, my queen and I will fight for you."

Each word he uttered was like a knife stabbing into her heart. "Then, why did you marry me? If you wanted to be with Sophia so badly, why did you have to waste my life being married to you?" Roseline asked, raising her voice a little bit.

Henry's once gentle and loving face turned cold and dark when he heard Roseline's question. "Who do you think you are? O told you before that you disgust me. Did you actually think that I'd love an idiot like you? It's so easy to play and toy with you because you're completely a dimwit."

Blood gushed out from Roseline's mouth again when she heard Henry. Yes, he made it clear the first time but hearing him say it again was heartbreaking. A word of evil stabbing her heart and tearing it into pieces. A cold chill went down her spine and through all her bones. "Hahaha!" She cracked into another laughter, making Sophia raise her brow at her. Was something in all she had said? Or maybe she was too shocked by the news.

"Why are you laughing, sister? You see you don't have to blame us for being heartless because this is all your grandfather from your mother's side, your mother and our grandfather's fault. They put you in this mess."

She gathered her strength to stand up and after a few attempts, she successfully stood up but lost her balance again. She quickly grabbed the railing of the bancoly to balance herself before she fell down again.

"I get the fact that you don't love me, Henry. However, Sophia....." Roseline trailed off as she raised her head and stared at Sophia with her crimson red eyes. "Tell me exactly why you all are doing this?"
