Chapter 3 Give Her a Chance to Make Money

"Sir, could you please show some respect to me?"

Gwenyth couldn't lose this job.

She tried her best to maintain her professional image as a room attendant and didn't lose her temper, but she really wanted to slap Edison across the face.

"Respect? What should I do then?" asked Edison.

"Let go of me first!" said Gwenyth.

"What if I don't?" Edison teased.

"Then I'll shout for help," snapped Gwenyth.

"Go ahead!"

Gwenyth was rendered speechless.

It was really useless to shout for help. The suite had a good sound insulation effect, and there were only president's suits on this floor. Only this room was occupied, and the other suites were all empty.

What was the point of shouting for help?

Gwenyth wriggled, but she still couldn't break free from Edison's hand. She turned her face to glare at him. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"You can't stand it?" Edison asked.

"Nobody can stand it, all right?" Gwenyth snapped.

"You should consider yourself lucky that I have interest in you," said Edison.

"You lunatic!" cursed Gwenyth.

Instead of getting angry, Edison smiled and said, "You've been staring at me since the moment you caught sight of me. You're interested in me, aren't you?"

"Don't talk nonsense."

She just cast a few more glances at him.

"By the way, I warn you. Don't tell anyone about what happened between me and Nancy in this room. Understand?" Edison said.

Of course, Gwenyth understood.

He just warned her to keep her mouth shut and not to talk nonsense outside.

"You are pretending to be dumb again. You like to play this, don't you?" asked Edison.

Gwenyth took a deep breath and pinched him on the arm with all her might, leaving a lot of nail marks on him.

Edison frowned slightly. "You're being rude."

"Let go of me, or I'll sue you for harassment," threatened Gwenyth.

"This hotel is mine. Where are you going to sue me?" teased Edison. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

"I...."

Edison put his fingers on her lips and stopped her from uttering what she wanted to say.

Seeing that she stopped, he took back his hand, pulled out his phone from his pocket, and called his assistant Andy.

As soon as the call went through, Edison gave an order and then hung up.

"Prepare the agreement and deliver it to my room," Edison said in an icy cold tone.

"Agreement? What kind of agreement?" wondered Gwenyth.

When she was about to ask, Edison wrapped his arm around her waist.

Feeling that the hand pulled out her shirt from her skirt, Gwenyth panicked and quickly clutched her clothes.

"You bastard! What do you take me for?" she snarled.

Inwardly, she added, "I'm a room attendant here, not a prostitute. How dare he make a move on me so casually? Does he think I'm a pushover?"

"Look! You like it," remarked Edison.

"You must be out of your mind," yelled Gwenyth.

She was so enraged that she couldn't stand it anymore, and she struggled hard with both hands and feet.

Edison didn't loosen his arms around her waist. He lifted her up with great strength and turned her around, letting her lean against his chest and sit on his legs.

Gwenyth's face turned red. She quickly put her legs together, feeling ashamed and angry, but she was too weak to be a match for Edison.

"What the hell do you want?" she questioned.

"Be quiet," hushed Edison.

"Let go of me! I'm working now," shouted Gwenyth.

Edison threatened, "When I tell you to shut up, you'd better do it, or I will make you lose this job right away."

Gwenyth gritted her teeth and zipped her lips. She was so angry that her body shook slightly. Edison could feel her shaking body, but he had not the slightest intention of letting go of her.

The two of them maintained this posture and froze for twenty minutes.

Edison, who had remained motionless, suddenly moved his legs.

Clearly, his legs were numb.

Gwenyth rolled her eyes and said, "Let go of me!"

Edison gave no response and suddenly pressed his cheek against her back and rubbed it.

It caused Gwenyth to get goosebumps all over her body. "Let go of me right now!"

She leaned forward to keep a distance from Edison, but she was still sitting on his legs and her waist was held by him. She couldn't get up at all. Even if she didn't keep close to him, she still felt very embarrassed.

"Knock! Knock! Knock!"

Suddenly, there were three rhythmic knocks on the door.

Gwenyth's heart sank.

She looked in the direction of the door, and Edison said, "Come on in."

With that, a young man in a suit pushed the door open and came in. He was Andy, Edison's personal assistant.

With an envelope in his hand, Andy was surprised to see Gwenyth being held tightly by Edison on his legs.

After being stunned for a full minute, Andy finally recovered from the shock and regained his composure.

He walked up and handed the envelope to Edison.

Edison took it over and put his arms around Gwenyth's belly, pulling the document out of the envelope with the title of "Dating Agreement" in front of her. Before Gwenyth could read it carefully, Edison took it away.

"What is it?" asked Gwenyth.

Edison didn't say a word. All of a sudden, he loosened his grip on her waist.

Gwenyth was not in the mood to care about the agreement in Edison's hand. Anyway, it had nothing to do with her. As soon as she broke free, she quickly stood up and pushed the cleaning trolley.

Edison looked up in a laid-back manner and glanced at her terrified face. Then he lowered his head and looked through the agreement in his hand.

"Wait a minute!" he said.

"The cleaning is done. If you want to order some food again, please call the front desk," responded Gwenyth.

When she was about to push the cleaning trolley away, Edison snapped his fingers and Andy immediately stopped her.

"Damn it! What bad luck!" thought Gwenyth.

She didn't expect Edison to have become so unreasonable in the past years when they hadn't seen each other.

Although Edison used to be an arrogant and domineering boy, he wouldn't bully girls, nor did he touch girls casually. But just now, he had held her in his arms and took advantage of her for twenty minutes. Now, he even stopped her from leaving.

If Gwenyth didn't want to keep this job, she would have slapped him across the face.

She asked, "Sir, is there anything else I can help you with?"

Edison looked down at the agreement. It was very thin. There were two copies in total, two pieces of paper for each.

He read the agreement quickly and threw it on the coffee table. He then looked up at Gwenyth and said, "Sign it after reading it."

Gwenyth was dumbfounded.

"Give her a pen," ordered Edison.

Hearing this, Andy took out a pen from the pocket of his shirt and handed it to Gwenyth.

Gwenyth didn't take it, and Andy put the pen next to the agreement.

The room fell into an awkward silence.

Gwenyth could hear her heart racing in her chest.

She didn't know what was going on.

Edison leaned against the sofa and glanced at her casually. Then he looked at the coffee table and said in a low voice, "Come here!"

"Sir, I'm just a room attendant. Can you stop making things difficult for me?" said Gwenyth.

Edison was quite patient. "Just read the agreement first. The pay is good."

"No, thanks."

Since it was a dating agreement, Gwenyth had no interest in it and didn't need to read it at all.

She pushed the cleaning trolley out but was stopped by Andy again.

Andy simply stood at the door and blocked her way.

Edison looked at Gwenyth's calf, where there was an unnoticeable scar. He then caught a glimpse of her black leather shoes. There were traces of glue sticking to the edges of the heels, which made the shoes look very cheap.

"If you go out with me for three months, you will be paid 450 thousand dollars a month," Edison said frankly.

Gwenyth remained indifferent.

Edison added, "You look poor. I'm just giving you a chance to make money."

450 million was an astronomical number for Gwenyth.

She had never seen so much money in her life. She needed money, and no one needed money more than her.

But she didn't dare to make money by dating Edison.

She rejected it. "Sir, thank you for your kindness, but I really don't need it."

"Are you sure you're not going to consider it?" Edison raised his head and looked into Gwenyth's eyes.
