Grieve Together
Belvina, who was still crying and leaning against the hospital wall, immediately wiped her tears and walked slowly to the hospital yard. Still sitting on the hospital sidewalk.
“I didn’t expect that there would be such a bad person. So selfish, even though they are already corpses that will eventually be buried or even burned if they have different customs. Then why is it that when I only asked for the corpse’s corneas the family didn’t agree? This was very odd, because initially they had agreed that the corpse could have its corneas donated, but what now? I still can’t believe this. Did someone intentionally make it so that Gifer couldn’t get an eye donor?” Belvina asked herself. The components inside her brain shell were now being filled with several questions that seemed odd to her. While she was engrossed in her daydream, she suddenly remembered something.
“I have to meet with Gifer.”

At Bang Martin’s ‘Ability to Read’ Foundation, Gifer was already there along with Haris. Although they were just dropping by, Bang Martin was very happy to know they had come to visit and meet the sightless children.
“How are you guys doing? As if swallowed by the earth you never stopped by again, huh? You’re annoying,” Bang Martin grumbled while patting Gifer and Haris on the arm. The two of them just laughed at Bang Martin’s ramblings.
“How about it, Bang. We were too busy to forget you,” Haris replied.
“You shouldn’t do that. You guys don’t contact me either, so bad,” complained Bang Martin.
“Yes, that’s why we’re here, Bang. Want to meet the children too,”
“Where are the kids at this hour? It’s late afternoon, they’ve already gone home, Gif,”
“Aren’t there any evening or night classes?”
“Yep! What do you think this place is for the general public? It’s for the blind, so what’s the point of lingering until the afternoon?” Bang Martin asked.
“Hahaha, next time, Bang. We also can’t leave in the afternoon, Gifer has a schedule to meet clients, so we have to rest quickly because after that we will meet the clients,” said Haris.
“No, there is no rule like that here. Ah, so that’s it, that’s fine. But here’s the thing, if you come here in the afternoon, you will only meet me, even if I haven’t gone home yet, if you go home you will meet a ghost,” Bang Martin said while scaring them both.
“Don’t talk about the impossible, Bang,” said Haris.
While they were enjoying their conversation. Gifer’s cell phone rang, displaying the name of someone he loved. Since Gifer couldn’t see, he just pressed the green button which Haris said was located on the left side of his cell phone and moved it up.
“Hold on, I’m picking up the phone first.” Gifer said while moving away from Bang Martin and Haris.
After receiving the call which was only briefly, it made the foreheads of Bang Martin and Haris furrowed. Was the phone call that fast? They both thought. After receiving the call, Gifer asked permission from Bang Martin and Haris to go to the park near the foundation.
“Bang, I have some business for a while. Ris, you stay here first. I have something to do with Belvina, we will meet in the garden of this foundation,”
“Ah, yes, Gif. Immediately solve the problem between the two of you. Don’t have any more misunderstandings,” Haris replied.
“Yes, Gif, be careful on the road!” said Bang Martin.
“Alright.”

Without waiting for a long time, Gifer had arrived at the garden of Bang Martin’s foundation, he sat on a park bench along with the blind stick that was faithfully in his right hand. He was waiting for his girlfriend to bring him the good news that he had gotten an eye donor from the hospital he had gone to a few weeks ago. The lover she was waiting for finally arrived, right on the bench next to the cherry blossoms, looking so sad. Belvina saw her lover sitting there alone with a smiling face. She also walked up to her lover with a puffy face because she had been crying. Realizing that someone was coming, Gifer already guessed that it was his girlfriend.
“Honey, is that you?” Asked Gifer who didn’t get an answer from his beloved.
“Yes, dear. It’s me,” Belvina began to sit next to Gifer. Leaning her head on her lover’s narrow left shoulder. She suddenly remembered clearly what the doctor had said earlier. It really hurt her to feel that she was treated unfairly. He cried again, which could be felt directly by the sweet man.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“What’s wrong with you, baby? Are you crying?” Gifer asked confused. Belvina’s tears broke even more when asked by her lover.
“Hiks, hiks, hiks…” Belvina cried while covering her mouth with both palms.
“Shh, never mind. Don’t cry anymore. What’s wrong? Tell me,” Gifer coaxed her while rubbing her hair with his right hand. He then moved to embrace Belvina’s body. Taking her into his arms, he buried his face in her chest. After being satisfied with her crying, Belvina straightened her body. Telling him what really happened at the hospital earlier.
“Honey, the family of the corpse who was going to donate his eyes initially agreed to everything we agreed to for the eye donation, but when I got there, they canceled everything. It’s so odd isn’t it? I was very disappointed with the doctor. Why promise things that are not certain? If there really is an agreement, it shouldn’t just be canceled. There’s something wrong here.” Hearing that Gifer just smiled wryly.
Not once or twice he experienced the same thing too. Don’t think that all this time he didn’t look for an eye donor, in fact all this time he also struggled to find help with his parents, but when he got it, the donor’s family canceled everything. This is not a new thing anymore according to Gifer. Until finally he gave up and did not accept if Belvina found an eye donor for him, because this was the result, Gifer just did not want his girlfriend to experience what he experienced, even his girlfriend cried like this because she was disappointed. What about Gifer himself? He was even more disappointed.
“Sssst, never mind dear. Don’t be sad. Indeed, sometimes a person’s thinking can change. We can’t force things that other people don’t want. Maybe it’s my destiny if I have to live a life without being able to see. Although I don’t know how long this will last. Because indeed, there are many people who don’t like us, I have felt awkward about this for a long time. Every time someone wants to donate, the donor suddenly canceled the agreement,” Gifer explained. Belvina was shocked and straightened her body to face Gifer’s sweet face.
“How did you know?” Belvina asked curiously.
“How could I not know, I’ve also searched with my parents, dear. But there’s no hope anymore. We’ve searched all over this hospital. But maybe someone didn’t like it when I could see again, so the donor was instigated and finally canceled it,” explained Gifer.
“Why are they that evil? What’s your fault oh?”
“I don’t know either, dear. Let God repay me later. I can only bide my time. Who knows if someone wants to donate an eye for me,” Gifer replied casually. Belvina could only stay silent and stare at Gifer’s sweet face. Hugging him even tighter.
“Be patient, dear. There must be, maybe not now,”
“Yes, I understand that.” Gifer rubbed Belvina’s hair again.
