Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 84

Chapter 84

After Mikayla finished her morning routine, she went downstairs and was surprised to find Jerome still at home. He was reading documents and drinking coffee.

Jerome was wearing a white shirt as he casually read with ease.

The morning sunlight streamed in through the French windows. It cast a gentle glow on his

flawless face, making even his features seem more gentle.

Mikayla couldn’t help but stare at him. Feeling her gaze, Jerome turned to look at her and a hint of pleasure appeared in his eyes.

Mikayla tried to regain her composure. No matter how good–looking he was, he was still a

detestable man!

Mikayla asked coldly as she descended the stairs, “Did you move me to the bed last night?”

As soon as Mikayla said that, someone in the kitchen dropped their utensils.

Mikayla turned her head and saw a shocked Mike standing in the kitchen.

Mike quickly picked up the utensils he had dropped and pretended as if nothing happened by retreating into the kitchen.

“Mrs. Amy, go inside…” He even stopped Amy who was about to come out.

Amy was bewildered and she asked, “What are you doing? I need to ask Mrs. Miller what

she wants for breakfast!”

Mike dragged Amy into the kitchen and said, “Mrs. Amy, I think my spoon and fork are too slippery. They’re coated in oil.”

“They’re clean…”

Mike and Amy’s voices disappeared into the kitchen.

Mikayla suddenly realized that others might easily misunderstand what she had said just

now. She blushed slightly at the thought of that.

“It was me,” Jerome said with a hint of mockery in his tone.

Mikayla suppressed her embarrassment and retorted coldly, “Didn’t we agree that you

wouldn’t take advantage of me?”

Jerome put down the documents in his hands and looked at Mikayla. “Couples who quarrel should make up fast. Since we’ve spent a night together, I think we can end this cold war.”

Mikayla was bewildered at his unreasonable logic.

Before she could speak, Jerome continued, “You should get ready to attend the banquet to

celebrate the Miller Group’s successful acquisition tomorrow night.”

“Sorry, I’m not available,” Mikayla refused.

Since it was a banquet to celebrate the acquisition of Bernhal Enterprise, Kylie would undoubtedly be there. Hence, Mikayla didn’t want to attend the event.

“As my wife, it’s only normal for you to attend the event with me,” Jerome said. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

Then, he took out two cards and placed them on the table. “This card is for you to buy a

new outfit.”

Mikayla reconsidered her decision since she could spend Jerome’s money to buy new

clothes.

After all, she wouldn’t be able to spend his money anymore once they were divorced. Moreover, she did promise Jerome that they would interact like a normal couple..

“What if I bought jewelry and handbags with this card? You wouldn’t make me pay for those once we get a divorce, right?” Mikayla asked cautiously.

Jerome bit back his anger after hearing her words and said, “Everything you buy is yours!”

“Deal.” Mikayla took the card and looked at the other card on the table. “What’s this card

for?”

“It’s the one million I promised to pay for the investment plan you proposed last time.”

Mikayla was puzzled at that and asked, “Why are you still giving me the money since you’ve decided to not use the plan?”

Jerome sneered and said, “I’ll fulfill my promise no matter what. I don’t want you to think.

I’m all talk and no action.”

Mikayla felt a burst of joy as she was rewarded handsomely.

She took the card and said, “Thank you, Mr. Miller. You’re truly a man of your word!”
