Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 236

Chapter 236

“Why didn’t you return to Riverside Resort?” Jerome asked.

Mikayla didn’t want to entertain any more of his questions.

He looked unhappy. “Regardless of whether the medicine–switching had anything to do with you, you shouldn’t left after you kicked Mr. White. You caused him to hurt his waist.”

Mike’s head started buzzing as soon as he heard that.

It was over. Jerome’s words would only intensify the conflict.

And as expected, Mikayla was pissed off when she heard that. “I haven’t done anything wrong! You called me to the hospital to interrogate me for so long, but you still think I shouldn’t have left?

“Do I have to wait until you’ve convicted me? Do I have to admit that it was my mistake and apologize to Mr. White and Kylie before I can leave?”

Jerome choked.

Mike couldn’t bear it any longer. He frantically signaled to the driver to put down the partition, or he might soon be involved in the conflict.

Jerome could no longer suppress his annoyance after the driver lowered the partition. “Mikayla, do you think I’ve wronged you? Can you confidently say the fingerprints on the medicine bag weren’t yours? Can you claim that you weren’t angry at Kylie before we went to the drugstore?”

Sure enough, he had gone to get the fingerprints checked.

“Kylie works at Bernhal Enterprise as the chief director because she’s qualified for that position. I allowed you to choose any position at Miller Group headquarters but you refused. Yet you still can’t stand Kylie. What exactly do you want?” Jerome asked.

“I want to stay far away from you two! Haven’t I already told you?” Mikayla sneered. “You were the one who held back and refused to divorce. That’s why she’s so determined to resort to horrible tricks because of you!”

“Do you think she would risk her own life?”

“Yes, I do. Because that’s what Kylie did.”

Jerome was once again rendered speechless. Mikayla’s cold sneer made him feel depressed and

annoyed.

Yesterday, she was still lying in his arms shyly. But now, she was treating him like a stranger.

“Mikayla, can you please be reasonable?”

Jerome wanted to pull Mikayla into his arms and feel her soft body again. But she dodged aside.

He was angered so he pressed his whole body against her.

She realized she was unable to dodge so she pushed him away with both hands.

He grabbed one of them, and Mikayla hissed and shed tears in pain.

“Why is your hand wrapped in a bandage?” Jerome noticed something was wrong and looked at her hand in his palm. “Were you injured? Why didn’t you tell me when I asked you?”

She withdrew her hand, her voice hoarse from the pain. “It’s none of your business.”

She had hidden her hands under her coat because she didn’t want him to know about her injury. She had instinctively used both of her hands. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

“Go to the nearest hospital,” Jerome ordered the driver.

Mikayla refused. “I want to go to Grandpa’s place, not the hospital!”

He stared at her. “Do you think Grandpa wouldn’t be worried if he saw you like this?”

He was a bit rough just now, and it caused her wound to open again. The white gauze bandage was faintly

stained with blood.

Eduard would indeed be worried if he saw it.

It was unreasonable to leave her wounds untreated. And it wouldn’t be worth it to cause herself more harm just because she’s angry. Thus, she didn’t refuse.

They arrived at the hospital within a few minutes. Mike went to register while Jerome accompanied Mikayla to the doctor’s office.

After removing the gauze, Jerome noticed her palms were full of wounds of various sizes.

It appeared to have been torn by some debris. Some of them that had been covered by dark red blood scabs were now bleeding again.

These wounds stood out abruptly in the middle of her tender palm.

Jerome felt a sense of guilt and softened his tone. “What happened?”
