An Ice Queen for sale (Alice)

Chapter 179

Chapter 179 Breathe!

Seth and Leah wanted to come later, but Ava so wanted to be a part of the whole procedure, so they finally agreed to come with us. We didn't need to wait too long. Riccardo, Alexandra and Matteo appeared as well to say farewell. They were supposed to arrive three days before the games started.

After we checked in, we tried to make the time pass faster by wandering around in the shops, but Ava seemed to be the most excited as she could not stop watching me perform on her tablet. Soon Beth and Gareth arrived as well with the whole coach, and the other skaters who they took care of as well. They got a few people accompanying them, probably their families.

"I think all the passengers on the plane will be skaters and their relatives."

I whispered to Gideon. He smiled at me.

"Yeah, probably." He agreed.

Finally, we could get to our gate, as they started the boarding procedures. I got used to travelling in first class by now. Gideon and I were sitting next to each other, of course. I held his hand, and when the plane took off, I started to feel the first sign of excitement. We watched some movies and had dinner on the plane. Not long after, we made ourselves comfortable. We tried to stay awake, which was not easy at all. Finally, we decided to sleep a few hours only.Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

I had a dream, which wasn't good, nor bad. I was training. I attempted to jump five quads and combinations to make a record, but I fell. Just before I arrived on my butt, my eyes opened.

"Alice, are you alright?" Gideon looked at me with sleepy eyes.

"Yeah, why?" I asked, then yawned.

"You woke up so suddenly."

I smiled.

"I just had a dream. I was training, and I fell."

He frowned.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

I shook my head, and I laid it on his chest. He wrapped his arm around me, and we awaited the cabin crew to bring us some coffee.

We landed in time. The weather was so different. It was cold. It was not too hard for me, as I learned to bear the cold weather in Canada where I grew up, but it seemed like Gideon and the others needed more time to get familiar with this weather. The only thing that was disturbed me was the time. We arrived not long after eleven o'clock at night.

Beth wanted me to train from the first day, so she made me promise I will try to sleep more and get up in the morning, to make us get used to the time quicker.

Even if I assumed our hotel room would be luxurious again, I loved our room from the first sight. We had a shower, and after we ate dinner, we went to bed. Surprisingly, both of us could fall asleep. We woke up at five. We were supposed to meet Beth and Gareth at the ice rink at eight. When we arrived, somehow I was happy to see my rivals. Some of them I knew from other competitions, some of them I only heard about.

We greeted each other kindly, and even if all of us worked hard to achieve our goals, we had a lot of fun as well.

To skate on the ice that got the rings of the Olympics on made me feel like I was in a dream. I just couldn't believe that was really happening to me.

There was a guy who came from Japan and a girl from China who I got close to. The guy was a world champion who was expected to win just like me, and the girl was expected to finish on the podium as well. We enjoyed jumping together, and even if we fell, we had a great laugh. We all had a signature position that was really difficult to do and keep, but we taught each other to do them successfully, which made us thrilled.

A few days passed like that when I had another surprise. I stood at the board on the ice listening to Beth when someone gently covered my eyes from behind. Touching the hand, I tried to uncover who could be it, but I had no idea, so after letting the hands go, I turned around to see Lucas' broad smile. I hugged him immediately, and we kissed each other on our faces.

"Why didn't you tell me you are coming too?" I asked him in excitement.

"Did you think I'm not good enough to be here?" He asked me, making a funny face.

"Are you joking? You should root for me!" I frowned.

"I know." He chuckled, and he pretended like he slapped me.

"Which category are you competing in?"

"Ice dance."

"That is also cool."

"Yeah." He said. I knew he ended up as an ice dancer, but I also knew he was an amazing solo skater as well.

His partner was the same girl who he performed with in the gala, and even though Gideon wasn't the happiest to see him, we had a lot of fun together on the ice in our free times.

However, the happy times passed away fast, and soon we all started to feel the pressure and the excitement.

The day when I was supposed to perform my short program, I didn't really want to leave my bed.

"Alice, are you all right?" Riccardo asked me while frowned when we met in the hotel's hall to go to the sports centre together.

"I am, I just..." and I exhaled, then jumped a few times.

"Stop, Alice." He held my shoulders to stop me from moving.

"Look at me." I did what he asked me.

"You are a great figure skater. You are well trained. You will get through this, okay?"-

I nodded while I felt other hands on my waist from behind.

"Yes, Alice. Just take deep breaths." Gideon tried to calm me as well.

"Let's go." I told them. They were so kind they supported me in every way possible, but this wasn't just an event, it was the event that I was dreaming about since I stepped on the ice for the first time. When we arrived, we went to the ice rink straight away. We were one of the firsts to arrive. I had my beautiful dress on under my coat and my hair and makeup were also done.

Beth came to me as well, and told me to warm up, so I started. She told me the same as Gideon. Breathe. I started to feel sick of it. Breathe. Why did no one understand it didn't help at all? "Stop it, Alice!" I thought.
