Chapter 114
Chapter 114
(Important note at end of chapter)
“I found something,” Sebastian informed Bella. “Not about the girl, but your husband,” he stated.
“About Ethan?” Bella asked, her tone piqued with interest.
“Yes,” came the reply.
“Hurry up and say it!” she semi-yelled.
“I’ve been watching and following his assistant for some time; they seem to frequent Cleveland
Hospital,” he stated.
An exasperated sigh escaped Bella’s l*ps. “I’m already aware of that,” she admitted with irritation. “I
was hoping for something more substantial,” she mused aloud. “That incident was weeks ago; why
does he still frequent the hospital?” she questioned, a perplexed furrow creasing her brow.Sebastian
wasn’t finished yet, adding another layer to the unfolding mystery. “He’s definitely been visiting
someone there.”Sensing the gravity of the situation, he suggested, “I think you should find out for
yourself.”
Determined to get to the bottom of things, Bella decided to take matters into her own hands. Instead of
confronting Ethan directly, she resolved to head to the hospital herself. Despite her aversion to
hospitals and the sickening feelings they stirred within her, the need for clarity propelled her forward,
she wanted to know who it was Ethan was always visiting.
Before she exited the car, her eyes scanned the surroundings. To her surprise and disbelief, she
spotted a family face walking out of the hospital along with two kids.
“Hazel?!” she exclaimed, questioning the reality of what she was witnessing.
A torrent of questions flooded Bella’s mind. Why Hazel? When did she return? Whose children were
they? Recognition struck like lightning. The children were the same ones that had ruined her dress on
that fateful night.
Frustration and suspicion clouded her mind as she entered the hospital, determined to unravel the
mystery.
Minutes later, she stormed out, a storm of emotions brewing within her.
Ethan had indeed been a frequent visitor to the hospital. She had inquired from the cleaning staff.
Armed with money she could find out what she wanted.
Hazel’s kid was being hospitalized and Ethan had been visiting. He had actually been coming to see
his ex-wife’s kids. Hazel’s kids weren’t his right? The thought had her head and mind spinning. That
couldn’t have been why he’d reacted that way that night, could it? They couldn’t actually be Ethan’s
kids. She shook her head incredulously. No! They couldn’t be

Ethan’s. If they were, she would end them herself.

The report you asked for the other time came in.” Axel said passing a document to Ethan. His face was
tensed in seriousness.

“Just give me a summary” Ethan demanded, he didn’t like the guy and wanted to be done quickly with
him.
“He has his own company, his mate died About eight years ago.” Axel took a difficult breath.
“On record…” Axel paused.
“It is said he has two kids.” He explained.
“Two kids?” Ethan asked.
“I never knew he had two kids.” Ethan stated that piece of news had made him curious.
“I don’t know how you would take this.” Axel hesitated. When he had done the digging he hadn’t
believed it himself, until he had rectified.
“Liam and Daisy are Nathan’s kids.” Axel broke it to him. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
The pen in Ethan’s hands dropped.
“It couldn’t be, Hazel said he was someone she barely knew, that he didn’t want them. That he was
married.” Ethan said standing up. The new he had just heard was just unbelievable.
“I found the hospital where they were born, and the city as well. Nathan is their father.”
Ethan’s arms fisted. He couldn’t believe this, Hazel had lied, she had told him several lies. She had
been fooling him all along. He was dumb to have thought he stood a chance, how Hazel and Nathan
must have laughed at his st upidity and generosity.
“Where is She?” He asked quietly.
There had to be an explanation, a reason why she had lied to him brutally in that manner.
He had no idea how he had driven, but the next moment he was at the lobby of the hospital.
Hazel was alone in the ward room. Nathan had taken them Downstairs to have lunch.
Ethan stormed the room breathing heavily.
“Ethan?!” She called in surprise.
“Hazel, when I asked you about the father of your kids, what did you tell me?!” He asked quietly.

Hazel was quiet.
Why was he asking her that all of a sudden.
Seeing her panicked look he felt a deep pain in his chest. She looked like someone who had been
caught lying.
“What you told me that night, they were lies?” He asked in disbelief.
“Nathan is actually the father! But you lied, you said something else!” He yelled.
Hazel blinked severally and rapidly. The relief she felt was enormous. She thought for a while there,
Ethan had found out.
“You checked details of my kids? What gives you the right?” She asked taking a defensive.
stance.
“Who do you think you are? Huh Ethan?”
Ethan was completely taken aback by how cold she sounded.
“How could you have lied like that Hazel? That night, we say here, baring out emotions. I thought I was
connecting with you but you were lying?!” He yelled. Ethan asked his expression that if pain.
“For a sec there, I thought we were through all of that.” He was badly hurt. He and Hazel’s relationship
had been getting better, hearing of this deceit was a big blow to him. One that left him feeling drained
and weak.
“Well we were not!” Hazel countered with a small laugh.
She would take advantage of this, to get Ethan out her life permanently.
“You’re my ex-husband,why should I fill you in about details of my life?!” She thundered
back.
“You lied!” He yelled.
“Yes I lied to you, so?” She asked defensively.
She chuckled lightly.
“I did it to take advantage of your kindness and I guess it worked.” She smiled bitterly.
Her heart was shattering to pieces.
Lies, all lies. Stop it Hazel. But she couldn’t.
“Is there a problem?” She’continued seeing his hurt expression left her feeling suffocated but she
pressed on.

“I mean,” she stated.
“You got married, was there a rule that said I shouldn’t move on? You were thinking I’d still be hung up
on you waiting on you?” She asked.
“Or what were you thinking?” She asked with an incredulous scoff.
“You didn’t actually think there was hope left between us, that with their father gone you could take that
place and maybe I would take you back, that somehow on some illusion they could be yours?”
Ethan’s visibly flinched. She has struck a nerve there.
What had he been thinking?
A part of his a small part of him had visualize them being part of his life and future. Bella didn’t matter
to him as much as they did. If she’d given him another chance, asked him to pick once more. He would
have chosen her, her kids didn’t have to be his own. It didn’t matter. That didn’t matter to him at all.
Hearing it from her l*ps, she had only been using him.
How much had they laughed at his glaring st a upidity? It made his blood boil in rage and pain.
He really had no place here. Liam and Daisy’s father was there, present in their lives.
Hazel stood there watching Ethan’s expression. Her heart breaking. Every single thing that had
escaped her l*ps had been lies. The pain Ethan was feeling was clear to see on his face. He was
staring at her wide eyed and in disbelief.

He looked around in a daze His breathing become rapt and short his head stumbled backwards
bumping into a vase it fell crashing to the floor. Broken shards, just like his relationship with Hazel.
Just then Nathan walked in along with the twins, Daisy held in his arms.
Ethan stared at them.
This was a family, he had only been an outsider wishfully thinking. He released a bark of painful
laughter then nodded his head slowly.
He quietly walked out of the room
“Mr princess?.” Liam softly,
“Where are you going?” He called trying to go after him.
