Chapter 79 Bone-chilling, Blood-curling, Hair-raising Glare
Chapter 79 Bone-chilling, Blood-curling, Hair-raising Glare
December 2nd
Leo's P.O.V
I was mid-conversation with my Dad and some of his brothers when an all too familiar scent hit me. My
wolf was howling and within seconds the instinct became too much and I allowed it to switch me to
autopilot. I excused my self from the discussion and strode quickly towards the house.
I immediately spotted the group gathered at the door.
Xander, Bella, Lia, Lenny, my mate and most importantly Haden.
I let out a low, internal growl and beelined in their direction.
He knew that it would be suicide but if Haden had wanted to slit my Luna's throat right there and the,
he could have easily done so. Lenny stood positioned slightly in front of her, shielding her from him but
Haden still had the build and strength of an Alpha. And that made him no fair match for a just-turned-
sixteen-year-old.
"I wasn't expecting to see you here Haden," I growled before turning to my sister, "Maybe warn me next
time, Lia. So that I can mentally prepare myself and keep my mate, that he tried to kill just over a month
ago, well away?" Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
I grabbed Ella and pulled her back away from him.
"You've really got to stop seeing me as a threat to your Luna and more like a member of this wonderful
pack, Alpha," Haden responded in an amused tone, "We're family now, right?"
I glared at him.
"I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the effort you went to rig my new house with
cameras, bug my phone and put a tracking device on my car," he continued, "I really appreciate it."
"Nothing like a bit of extra security," I spat. "I don't trust you, Haden and one thing you must understand
is this: it doesn't matter whose mate you are, one wrong move and you are dead."
I stepped forward so that we were only a metre or two apart. At first, he was looking straight into my
eyes but soon enough his glare flickered slightly and he lowered his head.
He knew I wasn't kidding. Everybody did.
I smiled complacently at the group, which consisted of three nervous-looking siblings and Xander who
seemed to be enjoying the show, before taking Ella's hand.
"Enjoy the party everyone," I said before heading back out into the backyard with my mate.
"You gave him the murder glare," Ella said.
I looked down to her and furrowed my eyebrows, "The 'murder glare'?"
"When you are about to kill someone you always give them the bone-chilling look just in case they
aren't already terrified enough. I've seen you do it more than once."
"That's probably because I was thinking about how much I'd love to grab him around the throat, cut
open his windpipe and brutally murder him," I answered. "But... I decided my little brother's sweet 16th
birthday party in front of my whole family wasn't quite the time or the place for that."
Ella giggled and wrapped her arms around my waist.
"Probably the right choice," she said before standing on her tiptoes to gently peck my lips.
