Alpha Wade stepped out onto the balcony, his mind already occupied with the important call he needed to make. Nelly, always perceptive, had a feeling she knew who he was calling.
Not one to beat around the bush, Nelly spoke up as Alpha Wade prepared to leave. “I made the reservation for this weekend.”
Alpha Wade glanced at the triplets, concerned about their plans. “What about them?”
Nelly turned her attention to the kids and reassured him, “I need to go on a trip with Gramps this weekend-”
Before Nelly could finish her sentence, Tony interjected, “Don’t worry, Nelly. We can take care of ourselves.”
Donna nodded in agreement. “Just remember to get us some snacks on your way back.”
Nelly smiled at her grandfather, her expression conveying that everything would be fine. Alpha Wade looked at the kids and felt reassured that they were capable of taking care of themselves.
After a moment, Alpha Wade nodded. “Okay, then.”
Meanwhile, Lara, feeling bored, decided to check the office group chat. As she scrolled through the messages, she became increasingly angry. Someone had mentioned that Alpha Larry had dropped by the office, which didn’t sit well with her.
Frustrated, Lara immediately called her assistant. “Did someone named Nelly Jackson come to the office today?”
“Nelly? Who’s that?” the assistant questioned.
Lara took a deep breath, irritation evident in her voice. “Did someone from Prosper Technologies visit the office today?”
“Yes, someone was here. Old Alpha Morris came too. They seemed to enjoy talking to each other,” the assistant revealed.
Lara was furious that she hadn’t been informed. “Why didn’t you tell me about this?”
The assistant sounded troubled as she replied, “Alpha Morris said you were sick, so I didn’t want to disturb you.”
Lara hung up, seething with anger. What was so special about Nelly? Not only did she have Alpha Kilian wrapped around her finger, but even Old Alpha Morris had taken a liking to her.
Unable to contain her emotions, Lara immediately freshened up and changed her clothes before heading back to the office.
When Lara arrived at the office, she knocked on the door before entering. Alpha Kilian raised an eyebrow, surprised to see her back so soon. “Why aren’t you resting at home? Why did you come back to work?”
Lara sat down in front of him and replied, “It’s so boring at home. I think it’s better to work and fill up my time here.”
Alpha Kilian, still focused on his work, asked absentmindedly, “So I heard Old Alpha Morris visited the company yesterday. Is that true?”
Alpha Kilian nodded without even looking up. “Nothing was wrong. Just a routine check.”
Lara felt disheartened, longing to hear Alpha Kilian deny the rumors. “I also heard that Nelly was here and had a great time talking to Old Alpha Morris.”
Alpha Kilian’s gaze shifted to Lara, and he nodded. “Yes.”
Lara’s heart sank. It seemed like something had happened between Alpha Kilian and Nelly in the past. Determined to prove herself and win him back, she smiled and said, “Who would’ve thought that Old Alpha Morris would enjoy talking to Nelly so much? Does that mean you and Nelly have known each other for a long time?”
Alpha Kilian absentmindedly nodded again, confirming Lara’s suspicions.
Regardless of their past, Lara believed she was the woman behind Alpha Kilian now. “Alpha Kilian, I heard that Infinitium hired a new chef. Let’s go there this weekend.”
Alpha Kilian frowned, hesitant to commit. “This weekend?”
Lara sweetly smiled and pressed on. “Yes, I’m free this weekend, and you never got to treat me to the meal you promised earlier.”
“I have other plans this weekend, so that might not be possible,” Alpha Kilian responded vaguely.
Lara was disappointed but kept up her facade. “Okay, then we’ll hang out some other time.”
Alpha Kilian simply nodded, and just as Lara was about to leave, his phone rang. It was a message on WhatsApp.
Curiosity piqued, Lara voiced her confusion. “Who’s messaging you on WhatsApp? And a little girl at that.”
“It’s just a little girl I met at the airport,” Alpha Kilian replied, engrossed in his conversation.
Lara couldn’t help commenting, “I didn’t know you liked kids.”
Alpha Kilian, lost in thought, revealed, “I didn’t either.”
Feeling dismissed, Lara excused herself and left the room. She couldn’t help but feel like she barely knew Alpha Kilian anymore.
Meanwhile, Donna was thrilled when she received a message from Alpha Kilian. Her feelings towards him had transformed ever since she discovered the possibility of him being her father. However, she was conflicted due to their abandonment and worried about her mother’s approval.
Lost in her thoughts, Donna sat on her bed, unsure of what to do. However, when Alpha Kilian called, she answered, lowering the volume to avoid being overheard. “Hello, Mr. Handsome.”
Alpha Kilian noticed her whispering. “Why are you whispering?”
“I don’t want my mommy to hear me,” Donna replied, hiding under her blanket.
Curious, Alpha Kilian asked, “How can I help you?”
Donna admitted, “I just missed you, so I sent you that voice message.”
Alpha Kilian chuckled, finding her adorable. “So, how can I help you?”
Feeling conflicted but unable to resist the desire for a father figure, Donna continued the conversation.
“I was wondering… if you could come visit us sometime?”
Alpha Kilian was hesitant. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea, Donna. Your mom might not be happy about it.”
Donna felt dejected. “Okay, I understand.”
However, Alpha Kilian quickly added, “But I can still talk to you over the phone. And maybe we can plan something in the future.”RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Donna’s face lit up. “That would be great! Thank you, Mr. Handsome!”
Alpha Kilian smiled, happy to bring some joy into the little girl’s life. As he hung up, he couldn’t help but wonder what the future held for him and his relationship with Nelly and her family.
