Chapter 640 The Reunion
She wondered what if Wendy resented the Millers. But it was only her assumption.
Michael walked up to her and patted her shoulder reassuringly. "I think Aunt Wendy wanted what's best for you, Chloe. I know I'm not in a position to say this, and you can blame me, but you shouldn't deny yourself this opportunity." Even though Chloe could now support herself, it didn't mean she didn't need family. Chloe looked at him, and after a while, she asked, "What time is their reservation?"
James smiled when he heard her question, "6:30. I've sent the address to your phone. Good luck!"
Sometimes Chloe thought James was a bit stubborn, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
A while alter, she got ready and went out.
Standing downstairs at the restaurant, she was still very nervous.
Chloe didn't know how the Millers, besides Amanda, felt about her. And she didn't know what she would face once she went up there.
But if she didn't go see them, she would never know.
This might be one of the few chances she had in her life.
With that in mind, Jessica stepped into the restaurant and gave the host the reservation number.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
The waiter then led her towards the private room.
It was a very authentic French restaurant. The restaurant was quiet, and almost no one spoke loudly.
The lighting in the restaurant was also dim, creating a mysterious and tranquil atmosphere.
The door to the private room opened, and Chloe stood at the entrance, seeing several people sitting inside. Besides Amanda and Marvin, the other faces were unfamiliar to her.
She smiled slightly and walked in.
"Hello, I'm Chloe."
Upon seeing her, Amanda immediately rose from her seat and took her hand. "Chloe, come sit here!"
As soon as Chloe sat down, she noticed the woman next to her starting to dab at her eyes, tears welling up.
"Ainsley, Chloe just arrived, maybe hold off on the tears for now!"
Ainsley smiled and nodded, wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes. "Chloe, I'm your cousin. If you need any help in the future, just let me know!"
As soon as she said this, several others chimed in. "We can all help too, why are you the only one who can help?"
Chloe looked at their enthusiastic faces, unsure how to respond.
"Chloe, you already know me, I'm Amanda, your sister. Sitting over there is Dad, Daxton Miller. You also know Marvin, your nephew. Over there is Cousin Ainsley Harlow, and next to Ainsley is your great-uncle." Amanda introduced everyone to Chloe.
Chloe's gaze swept over each person, finally landing on the man she was supposed to call father.
Looking at him, she could indeed see a resemblance between them in his eyebrows and eyes.
She then looked at the oldest person at the table, the one she was supposed to call grandpa, Russell Miller.
He seemed to be around the same age as Admas but more energetic, likely in good health.
"Since you're back, you're now a Miller. From now on, your name is Chloe Miller."
Although Chloe didn't have much emotional attachment to her father, the surname Nelson had been hers since birth.
Asking her to change her name right away felt unfamiliar.
"I quite like the name Chloe Nelson."
She didn't directly refuse to change it, but her words implied as much.
Russell glanced at her, then after a moment of silence, said, "If you don't want to change it, that's fine."
Chloe hadn't expected Russell to be so accommodating. Just by looking at his appearance, she had assumed he was a stern old man, even imagining he might be challenging to deal with.
"Chloe, we are very sorry about your mother. If you wish, she can be enshrined in the Miller family ancestral hall."
Daxton's tone was calm, and although his eyes held a hint of unfamiliarity as he looked at Chloe, there was also an undeniable warmth and kindness.
