Chapter 5: A Hypocritical Elder Sister
Wendy took Jenny’s car home. As soon as she got home, Jenny grabbed the jade ornaments on the counter and threw them fiercely at Wendy!
“Ouch!”
Wendy let out a cry of alarm as blood flowed out of her forehead. The jade ornament shattered into pieces the moment it hit the marble floor.
“Second Miss, you’re injured!” The butler rushed to mediate, but Jenny shouted coldly, “Get lost!”
“Aunty Olivia, I’m fine. You can leave now.”
Wendy didn’t want outsiders to see this. She frowned, hung her head, and clenched her fists.
“Wendy, you’ve got guts!” Jenny sneered, strode over to sit on the sofa, and looked at Wendy with disdain. “I asked you to deal with Halsey last night. What did you do?”
“I went.”
“How dare you talk back to me!” Jenny was extremely angry. She grabbed the boiling teapot and splashed it on Wendy. This time, Wendy managed to dodge it by tilting her body. She gritted her teeth and said, “I went! But the man in the room is not Halsey at all!”
Tears streamed down Wendy’s cheeks, but she stubbornly bit her lip. She had lost her innocence, yet she still had to endure Jenny’s humiliation.
Why?
Jenny narrowed her eyes and glanced at Wendy’s exposed skin probingly. She said sarcastically, “How can I know if you haven’t been fooling around with another man? Anyway, Halsey told me that he didn’t have any sex with you!”
When Wendy heard the filthy words coming out of Jenny’s mouth, she was so angry that her entire body was trembling.
“Jenny, watch your mouth! And if you dare to take advantage of my mom to threaten me again, I will never listen to you in the future!”
After shouting those words, Wendy ignored the furious Jenny and swiftly ran upstairs.
Wendy threw herself onto the soft bed, hugged the pillow, and wept silently. After a while, a large patch of the pillow was wet.
Since Wendy was a child, she had always been threatened by Jenny, but her mother still felt that Jenny was very good and always let her listen to her sister.
Wendy’s mother had no idea what Jenny had done behind her back.
In the middle of the night, Wendy woke up in a daze. She felt that her whole body was boiling, and when she touched her forehead, she felt like she had a fever.
She struggled to get up and chewed a bag of Fever Reducers before returning to her room to sleep.
The next day.
Jenny had received a call from Rex’s assistant the night before, saying he would be here today.
She had originally wanted to find trouble with Wendy, but since she was in a good mood, she chose not to look for Wendy.
Early in the morning, she dressed and even specially asked the kitchen to cook a few good dishes. She was waiting for Rex Gavyn to come over at noon.
It was said that Rex Gavyn had taken control of the economic lifeline of the Jonas Group when he was 15 years old.
It was said that Rex Gavyn had never been close to women for many years.
It was said that the Ercula royal family wanted to recruit Rex Gavyn as the son-in-law, but he refused.
But now, Rex Gavyn wanted to fulfill his elders’ authentic engagement with the Walters Family!
Although Jenny was famous for being a businesswoman, she also wanted someone to rely on.
What’s more, she would be lucky to rely on a man that no one in Jena City could compare with!
Rex Gavyn was an existence akin to a legend!
Noon.
Kincaid Walters had returned home early to wait with Jenny. Even though he and Rex’s father were brothers before, if their family could unite Rex through marriage, it would be a promotion!Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
He looked at his daughter cautiously. “Jenny, what did Mr. Gavyn say?”
“Dad,” Jenny, wearing a little purple dress, said shyly, “I asked my secretary to contact them to ask if your agreement with Mr. Old Gavyn is still valid. Mr. Gavyn says it, so it’s naturally valid.”
“Really?”
Kincaid rubbed his hands excitedly and nodded repeatedly. “Okay, that would be great. You’re so capable. You’ve helped Dad manage the company well, and Mr. Gavyn is also the top leader of Jena City to save Jena City’s future; when you two are together, you’re a match made by God!”
“Dad!” Jenny turned her face away shyly. When she saw the secretary standing by the side, she frowned and said, “Go ask Mr. Gavyn. Why hasn’t he come yet?”
