A Relentless Pursuit for Love

Chapter 19

Chapter 19

Yoel laughed as he walked toward Jace. He placed his arms around Jace’s shoulders as he said, “Are you sure that she is that dull and tame ex-wife of yours? And it looks like you, her ex-husband, is only worth fifty cents.”

Clenching the fifty-cent coin tightly, Jace gritted his teeth. The veins in his forehead popped.

Yoel went out cluelessly, “Since you guys are divorced, you no longer have anything to do with one another, right? So, you won’t mind me making a move, right? I must say that that feisty woman is just my type…” Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

Before Yoel could even finish his sentence, Jace landed a punch on his face and hissed, “Get lost!”

“Pursue her? Yoel that idiot better not think about it” cursed Jace under his breath.

The moment she got into the car, Sage lost her cool.

She reached for her phone and called Luther. “Luther, what is Jace doing at Skye Hotel?”

“What did you say?” cried out Luther who was sitting in front of his laptop. Startled, he asked, “Jace Yuriel is in Salem City? And here’s here at my Skye Hotel?”

“I saw him earlier downstairs.”

“How is it such a small world?”

Luther connected his Bluetooth earphones as his fingers ran across the keyboard. He managed to pull up the surveillance video of Jace and Sage’s encounter. He listened to their conversation. Luther burst

into laughter and said, “You really gave him a fifty-cent coin? Did you see how flustered he looked? It’s hilarious! Serves him right! Hahaha…”

Sage, annoyed by Luther’s laughter, interrupted him. “Help find out why he is Salem City.”

“Shouldn’t he be spending lovey-dovey time with his sweetheart Sienna? What is he doing here in Salem City?” wondered Sage.

Could it be that he came all the way here just for her…

While she pondered on this, she heard Luther mumble, “So he knows Yoel Fulton?”

“Who?” asked Sage, now frowning.

Looking at how Yoel had thrown his hand over Jace’s shoulder, Luther said, “The guy who you slapped for wanting to take advantage of you, and also, the person who you threw up on. It seems like he and Jace are friends.”

Sage’s gaze darkened as she said, “So it was him who sold me out?”

“Very likely.”

Luther continued to hack through the system on his laptop before he sighed. “Yeah, the surveillance system around the dance floor was hacked last night. I’m guessing that it’s Yoel’s work.”

Luther did not expect Yoel to be this good a hacker.

Sage’s expression darkened. She had been unaware of the fact that Jace had been friends with the Fulton family. However, not once during their three years of marriage had Jace treated her as anything more than invisible. Therefore, he had never introduced her to his friends.

“We parted ways with Yoel rather late last night, and if he recognized you, he would have told Jace about it last night. I’m guessing that Jace had rushed from Nadeem City immediately after that.”

Luther scoffed, “Don’t tell me that this b*st*rd finally realized how good you are, and now, he wants to get back together.”

There was a slight wavering in Sage’s eyes, and she said, “Do you really think that’s the case?”

“Absolutely not.”

As if he wanted to take away Sage’s last glimpse of hope, Luther added, “I heard that your ex-mother- in-law had a showdown with Sienna last night, and that ex-husband of yours kicked his mother out of the house for his precious sweetheart.”

Upon hearing this, Sage felt her heart drop to her stomach.

To think that the Jace who had always respected his mother would go through such lengths for Sienna. It just showed how much h e cared for Sienna. She, his ex-wife, probably meant nothing to him.

“If Jace is really here for you, what are your plans?” asked Luther.

Sage straightened her scattered thoughts, collected herself, and said, “We are divorced. What he does is none of my concern. I’ve been selfish and stubborn for the past three years, and it’s time that I now stop.”
