A Night With The Ruthless Mafia Don

Chapter 10: Uncanny Familiarity

The limousine smoothly drove away from the restaurant through the bright city streets, leaving behind the chaos they had caused. Inside the vehicle, Alejandro and Alexandro sat quietly, smoking devilishly like the devils they were. The dangerous atmosphere around them showed that they were top figures in the criminal world.

Their loyal henchmen followed in separate vehicles, and the streets were empty because word had spread about the restaurant incident, making people stay indoors. Everyone in the city knew to fear and respect the Gambino brothers.

Meanwhile, back at the restaurant, police officers worked swiftly under their leader’s guidance to hide all traces of the violence. They understood the consequences of disappointing the Gambino brothers, so they collected evidence, cleaned up the mess, and silenced any potential witnesses. Soon, it would seem as if nothing had ever happened in that peaceful restaurant.

The Gambino family had every police force in various countries under their command. They had connections and organizations all over the world which made them invisible and powerful.

The limousine carrying Alejandro and Alexandro vanished into the city’s winding streets, leaving behind an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear. In their world, power meant everything, and they had just reminded everyone why they were the ones to be both feared and respected in the shadows.

“I can’t wait for Bernie to find out that his package is gone,” Alexandro mused, exhaling a long puff of smoke from his cigarette that dissipated into the night air.

“This should serve as a harsh lesson to the Russo family,” Alejandro added, his tone filled with a mix of satisfaction and menace.

As Bruno skillfully navigated the city’s dimly lit streets, Alexandro turned his gaze toward him and inquired, “Bruno, who’s our next target?”

Bruno, focused on the road ahead, chimed in when Alexandro asked about their next target. “Salvador Morello is the next target,” he stated firmly.

Alexandro’s displeasure was evident as he remarked, “Damn! We’ve been chasing that bastard for almost fourteen years, and he still eludes us.”

Alejandro, ever the optimist, reassured his brother, “Don’t fret, Alexandro. We’ll apprehend that scoundrel soon. But this time, we need to change our approach. We’ll begin by dismantling the organizations that operate under him. We’ll hunt down every son of a bitch in his employ until we finally corner the bastard himself.”

With a sinister grin, Alejandro continued, “Step by step, we’ll make that bastard pay for what he’s done to us thirteen years ago, and the entire criminal underworld will tremble at the mere mention of our names.”

Meanwhile, Marisa was still sitting on the bench in the amusement park, thinking of how to raise money for her son’s surgery before twenty-four hours. She was lost in thought, as the hours passed into evening.

The setting sun cast long shadows over the park, and Marisa’s mind raced, desperately trying to come up with ways to raise the exorbitant amount of money needed for her son’s surgery before the critical twenty-four-hour deadline.

As she continued to ponder her options, darkness settled over the park, and the laughter of children faded into the distance as families began to leave. Marisa knew that she had to act fast. With a heavy heart, she rose from the bench, her mind focused on how to race against the clock to save her son.

Marisa started heading home, and she was surprised when she realized that it was already evening. She found it a bit hard to believe that she sat in the park for over four hours, thinking about her son health condition.

As she approached the quiet street, Marisa couldn’t help but notice an eerie silence that hung in the air, unusual for the bustling neighborhood she called home. She glanced at her watch, her heart racing as she realized just how late it was becoming.

Suddenly, a desperate cry pierced the silence, pulling her attention towards a gruesome scene. A group of men was mercilessly beating another man, his pleas for mercy falling on deaf ears. The man’s cries for his family were abruptly silenced as he collapsed, blood oozing from a chest wound. Panic surged through Marisa as the horrifying reality settled in: he had been stabbed.NôvelDrama.Org content.

“Hey, you!” one of the assailants shouted, spotting Marisa. Without a second thought, she turned and sprinted away, a silent prayer racing through her mind.

“I promise, oh Lord, if I escape this, I’ll start attending church programs,” she muttered to herself, her breath ragged as she ran headlong into an obstacle and crashed to the ground, her face taking the brunt of the impact. She groaned in frustration as blood began to trickle from her lips, but there was no time to dwell on her minor injuries.

Scrambling to her feet, she sought refuge, her heart pounding erratically in her chest. She knew that if she didn’t make it out of this situation alive, she wouldn’t be able to get the. Her son was the most important person in her life, and she couldn’t afford to die and make him an orphan.

Maria’s phone started ringing in her back pocket, and she cursed under her breath as she fumbled to retrieve it. As she picked up the call, one of the men seized her wrist.

“Let me go,” she pleaded, wrenching her hand free from his grip. Determined to escape, she tried to make a run for it but collided with another man, sending her heart racing with fear.

“Don’t panic, sweetheart, we’ll be quick,” the man assured her, his sinister intentions clear. He attempted to grasp her, and she fought back, biting his hand in desperation.

“You little cockroach!” he howled in pain, retaliating with a brutal slap that reopened her previous wound, sending fresh blood streaming down her face. Dizziness began to consume her, and her vision blurred.

“Release her right now!” a commanding voice boomed from the shadows, snapping Marisa from her dazed state. Around fifteen figures materialized, standing between her assailants and herself, filling her with a potent mixture of astonishment and optimism.

Her eyes widened with astonishment as she recognized two of the men – identical twins, one of whom had once saved her from an impending truck collision.

Surprisingly, a sense of relief washed over Marisa as she laid eyes on Alejandro, his twin brother, and their men, despite their menacing appearance. Although she had no knowledge of their identities, she instinctively felt secure in their presence.

“I demand you release the lady right now!” Alejandro declared with an authoritative yet menacing tone, but the men gripping Marisa refused to yield, attempting to maintain a facade of bravery despite their trembling nerves.

“What will you do if we refuse?” one of the men dared to challenge.

In the blink of an eye, a deafening gunshot reverberated through the surroundings, and the man who had challenged Alejandro lay lifeless on the ground, blood seeping from his forehead.

“Arghhh!!!” Marisa shrieked in terror at the gruesome sight. The remaining men immediately released her, attempting to flee, but Alejandro swiftly dispatched them before they could take a single step.

“Ahhhh!!!” Marisa screamed once more, her terror intensifying as Alejandro turned his gun towards her. Falling to her knees, she clasped her hands in a desperate plea.

“Please, sir, spare my life! I have a child at home, please don’t take me from them! I beg you!” Marisa pleaded, tears streaming down her face.

Alejandro regarded her with an impassive expression, his intentions shrouded in mystery. Alexandro and their men watched in silence as Alejandro pointed his gun at Marisa. They all thought he was going to shoot her, but he surprised them by lowering his gun.

“Go home,” Alejandro commanded, and Marisa breathed a sigh of immense relief as she rose to her feet. She swiftly retrieved her handbag from the ground and made a hasty departure. She didn’t know the reason why Alejandro spared her, but she held deep gratitude that he refrained from violence. Without casting a backward glance, she sprinted away with every ounce of strength her legs could muster.

Alejandro’s lips curled into a sardonic smirk as he observed her retreating form. Although the urge to pull the trigger tugged at him, there was an uncanny familiarity about her. She bore a striking resemblance to someone he cherished deeply, someone he had loved immensely, and that was the reason why he didn’t shoot her. If Marisa had been anyone else in that moment, he might not have hesitated to shoot.

“Dude, why’d you spare her?” Alexandro’s voice broke through Alejandro’s reverie, prompting him to face his companion.

“I don’t know,” Alejandro responded in a dispassionate tone as he turned away, heading back toward their waiting limousine. Two of their men hurried to open the car doors for Alejandro and Alexandro.

“You mean you can’t explain why you didn’t shoot that bitch?” Alexandro inquired as they settled inside the vehicle.

“Quit probing, Alex, and smoke your cigarette in peace,” Alejandro retorted, his demeanor inscrutable.

“I hope you’re not developing a soft spot for women,” Alexandro teased, and Alejandro shot him a withering glare.

As the limousine glided through the city, Alejandro’s gaze remained fixed on the passing scenery, but Marisa’s image lingered in his mind like a puzzle. She looked so familiar and he just couldn’t shake the familiarity off his mind.

“Who are you?” he silently mused, his thoughts a swirl of confusion and curiosity. “And why do you look so much like her?”

The ride continued, and Alejandro’s mind remained occupied with these unanswered questions.
