A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret

Chapter 133

Harriette’s POV

That night, we arrived at the Rogue Pack. Both Ella and I. We weren’t supposed to be here together. It was supposed to be just me alone. This was my fight, my mission and it’ll soon become my murder.

Once I was released from prison, Mother gave me a bag. Inside the bag g was a map, a bottle of water, and some leftover bread. We’ve been trained to make do with whatever we have in case of a mission and this is the best I could get. It was more than enough.

I got to the border of our pack and I met Ella waiting for me while resting on one of the rocks. Our pack was situated between high valleys. She lifted her eyes, saw me, and walked towards me.All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“I’m going with you, Harriette, and no, you can’t tell me to go back. I already got Mother’s permission. She didn’t tell me about your mission but trust me, we’re in this together,”

Ella said all in one breath. I raised an eyebrow at her, confused about what to say next

“Fine, let’s do this together then, I agreed reluctantly but I was grateful she would be going with me.

For two days, we found our way to the Rogue Pack. We trekked, hitched rides, and slept by the road just to get there. We saw the outside world in a way we’d never done before but we wouldn’t be moved by those material things. They were temporary, our bond with our pack was permanent.

Finally, we arrived at the pack at eleven in the night,

Since we both looked tired and exhausted, our story would be more convincing for us to be accepted into the pack.

Instead of being asked for our story, we were directed towards a building and we were told to wait there.

Right in front of us was a mirror showing our reflection. One of the other two people who arrived with us tried to adjust her hair through the mirror. I looked at myself for a second before I looked away.

Beauty was vanity.

A few minutes into waiting, something flashed across r my eyes. Ella was holding me closely so I had to untangle myself from her so I could focus on

whatever it was.

It came again and this time, it was showing on that mirror. It metamorphosed into its real state. It was a big red wolf, one of its kind. It had a unique, unnaturally red fur. The first I’d even seen to be of that shade. It was huge and it had red eyes that glowed like fire.

I sucked in a deep breath as the wolf stared into my eyes, holding my gaze. My legs suddenly felt weak and I felt suffocated all of a sudden. My mind became wrapped in several images that didn’t make sense to me. It was as if I was in a bondage and something was attempting to break me

free

Out of nowhere, a hand rested on my shoulder and I gasped.

“Are you okay, Harriette?” It was Ella. She had an unusually worried look on her face.

I pointed into the mirror. “Can you see that?”

“See what?” si

She asked.

I snapped my gaze towards her. She was kidding, right?

She could see it too, right?

“The red wolf! You can see it right?”

“What wolf? What’s wrong?” Ella asked. She held my face in her hand.

We heard some voices outside and suddenly, the wolf i saw was no longer there. I blinked several times trying to find out if my eyes hadn’t just played a crazy trick on me.

“What woll were you talking about Ella anked again.

I shook my head. “Nothing Don’t worry about it, Ella,

Lassured her.

She still had that weird look on her face. I faked a smile to pretend everything was fine but in all honesty, it wasn’t.

The way I felt when I saw that wolf was indescribable. It was like an itch underneath my skin and no matter how much I scratched, I just couldn’t reach it

What was that?

The man who’d brought us to that room opened the door again.

“Let’s get started with your documentation. Usually, when we get new refugees, we get your details and if you’re fit for this pack, we’ll assign you rooms and of course, jobs but since you came in so late, we will only do your documentation tonight and tomorrow, we’ll let you know your results,”

He explained.

Ella raised her hand. “By result, do you mean if we’ll be accepted into the pack or not?”

“Yes”

Ella stared at me. I told her not to worry about anything. We’ll do just fine.

There was no way I could go back to the pack empty–handed. I have to finish my mission successfully.

The two people with us were called first before Ella and I were called into the small office.

A shiny gadget was on the table and the man busily clicked some buttons on it. Ella and I shared a look after we both saw it.

It was probably one of those devil’s gadgets we were warned about.

“Take a seat and tell me your names,

The man asked.

We took a seat with each other.

“I’m Harriette,” I answered,

“I’m Ella,”

“Surnames please,”

“Adams,” I answered before Ella Ella looked at me and I nodded.

“Former pack?”

“SnowMoon shadow pack, we both chorused

“Where is it located?”

“A little far away from River Espien,

The man looked away from the device and looked at us

“There’s a pack located around that area?” He asked with a deep frown on his face.

We both shrugged.

“That’s the ho

‘s the best way we can describe our pack. We don’t really know much about describing areas.

Ella explained. I could laugh at her lies. We were able to read maps as early as age ten

“Age”

“We’re cousins. Our parents were killed when we were four by the Alpha and we were turned into slaves. All we had to do was work for them and when we turned eighteen, we asked them to let us leave and look for a better life. They refused so we had no choice but to try to burn down the pack house and when they caught us, they wanted to force us to take the oath of allegiance to the Alpha, the same man who murdered our parents. We refused and they gave us two options. Either we took the oath or they threw us out without any of our belongings. We took the latter option. We’ve heard about this pack from some pack members so we took the trip down here,”

I breathed all those words out without skipping. I knew how many times I practiced the story with Ella just so it could be convincing and believable.

here?”

“How many hours did it take you to get he

River Espien to their rogue pack was a little over forty minutes. So, if our supposed‘ pack was around River Espien, that meant…

“Like an hour and ten minutes, Ella replied. We were both thinking in the same manner.

“What are you good at? I mean, what can you offer the pack?”

“I’m good at cooking, Ella answered. “I can bake as well,”

I bet that was the only truth Ella would be telling tonight.

“And you?” The man asked me.

I

I wasn’t the kitchen type of girl. Damn! I hated anything that had to do with pots or fire.

“I hunt,” I answered with my only truth.

What?

The man asked in disbelief.

“I didn’t stutter,” I answered angrily. What was with the doubt?

Ella jabbed me and I faked a smile.

“I know how to hunt down animals,”

I stared at the man straight in the eyes and I said to myself,

‘And humans too.

“Do you know how to fight?”

The man asked. He looked interested.

“No, I don’t, I lied.

“That’s bad. You would’ve been a perfect fit for this pack. You can go back to the room. We’ll get back to you by morning.”

“Thank you,” Ella and I chonised again.

She held my hand and we both walked out of the office. When we returned to the room, the two people were sleeping. Ella and Lalso found a corner of the room to sleep in

The moment I closed my eyes, hell broke loose and I became sunk in my nightmares.
