The Cherished Wife

Chapter 610

Chapter 610

Noelle found them a quiet corner to settle down in. The class bell had rung not long ago, so the place was buzzing with students, mostly in small groups, full of life and laughter.

Suddenly, Noelle felt a twinge of envy for those college kids, thinking back to her own university days that had slipped away.

It was a popular restaurant, and even with wait staff on deck, they were stretched thin. Noelle and Charles waited patiently before they finally got to order their meal.

The place was a hit with students and teachers because they could always count on getting a mountain of food. Noelle could still remember their first visit when they ordered way too much and ended up stuffed to the gills with leftovers in tow back to the dorm.

That time around, Noelle kept it simple with just two dishes and a soup. She glanced at Charles. "Do you think that's enough? Want to grab anything else?"

She slid the menu his way, but Charles just waved it off with a smile. "We're good!" He was never one for big meals. "This is plenty!"

The waiter zipped off with their order, and the place was buzzing with the post-class rush, filling up fast. Students were wandering in, looking for seats in vain, and a few girls who walked in locked eyes on Charles and Noelle right away.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

There was a buzz about the two of them. It was not every day they saw folks like them in a student joint, and Charles, well, he was hard to miss. "Is that guy even from our school?"

"No way. Have you ever seen anyone at our school look that sharp? Anyway, he looks older than your average college kid."

"Who said anything about a student? Maybe he's a professor or one of the big shots from the administrative department." "Check out the girl with him. She's a knockout. They're not, like, together, are they?"

The girls were not exactly whispering, and Charles caught a bit of their chat. He quirked an eyebrow. "Hear that? They think you're a looker."

"No, they're talking about you!" Noelle chuckled. "Weird, though. Isn't the university supposed to be quiet right now?"

"Are we there yet?" Charles asked, a hint of nostalgia in his voice. "It's been ages since I've cracked open a book. I can't even remember what a school schedule looks like. Can you?"

Noelle sheepishly ran a hand through her hair. "Guess not. These days, all I've got in my head are my work hours. School timetables are a distant memory."

Their conversation was interrupted

as their meal arrived, and it was just as Noelle had guessed, it was a huge portion. The two dishes and a soup seemed like a feast fit

giants, way more than they

possibly eat.

Charles grabbed the silverware and passed a set to Noelle. "Dig in. After this, we'll take a stroll. I got Ronald to snag us some movie tickets at a theater close by."

Noelle's eyes sparkled with excitement. "You really did plan a date with me!"

"When have I ever tricked you? Come on, eat!" Charles encouraged, loading up Noelle's plate. "Let's see if it's as good as it looks!" "Alright!"

Truth be told, the restaurant's fare

e

was pretty average. To a palate accustomed to gourmet feasts, that would hardly be impressive. However, back in their school days, they would have considered that spread a treat, far surpassing the mundane offerings of the school dining hall.

They made quick work of their dinner, and after Charles settled the bill, he whisked Noelle away.

Near Vista University, there was a

river where a gentle breeze made the evenings quite delightful. Noelle had often visited, but she did not expect that Charles's idea of a date would be a simple walk along its banks.
